I ADORE Ram 1500 (im not American) but i think Dodge should develop its diesel engines (considering rising fuel prices). Would also be curious to make a hybrid version for family users because lets admit not everyone is contactor. Some people like pick up trucks cs of its looks... Please share your thoughts.
@omg122448 Yeah, me too. I wish Dodge continued the quad cab design like the 2nd generation Ram--no door handles on the extended cab. It just looks better imo.
@LGLG69 I feel that the 8 foot bed with the quad cab is so long it would be impossible for offroading. The 1500 has a quad cab, all Silverados have that option, even the Fords. I hope the 2011 models will have that option. I might wait a few years before buying.
oh shit the new 2011 GMC Sierra really made the Dodge Ram Trucks look bad the new Sierra's have like 20,000 pounds of towing capacity and like 775 feet or something like that of torque
@edwin768 The 2011 Sierra 3500HD has a max towing limit of 16,500lbs with a 5th wheel, 2,000lbs LESS than the Dodge 3500HD's limit of 18,500lbs. The Duramax makes 365hp and 660ft/lbs of torque, which is more than the Cummins' 350hp and 650 ft/lbs. Despite that, the dodge can tow more anyway, and it has a factory-equipped exhaust brake (jake) that lets you tow more weight safely, since what you can pull doesn't matter when you can't stop.
@mdigs1965 The Cummins can't have Diesel Exhaust Fluid which means you don't have to spend unnecessary money on those stupid things. However the 2011 GMC Sierra Denali Diesel is Vary Nice.
@gonehuntin018 I really don't think you can go wrong with either transmission. True, Chrysler auto transmissions were once problematic, but with these newer trucks, it seems most of the bugs have been fixed. My '92 has the A518 automatic tranny, and even though the early trucks have a reputation for poor auto transmissions, mine just got rebuilt at 203,000 miles. Personally, I'd rather have a manual, but I plan to use my truck next season for plowing, so an auto is better for that application.
Dodge put out great lookin beastly trucks in the 20s, shit they built some of Fords first trucks. I own all three and GM is good, Ford is absolute shit.

Dodge has no marketing campaign yet they win all the awards because they focus on one thing: A truck for the working class, built solid, and powerful as an ox.
Now I have a 2010 dodge 3500 (nnot a dualy) its a turbo cummins and i got a regular cab since i own around a 1200 acre farm and i think this truck is GREAT! This thing can do any work I need it to do. Iv towed huge tractors outa mud with this thing and it can hull more then they say it can.

You dont know what you're talking about. My friend owned a 07 chevy. at 149 000 km, he has to switch is truck because his one was dead. only 2 years after he bought it. He is towin a 4000 pounds trailler all around Quebec. Now he his owning a 09 ram, he his near of 179 xxx km and he never put a penny on reparation ... and yes , HE IS DOING ALOT OF ROAD
All this Dodge is great the rest are crap or Ford is great GM is crap is such, er, crap. Fact is all the Big Three make a great "heavy duty" truck. They all carry the same and tow the same it's just what you prefer. The cummins and Duramax are great diesels and if Ford's new 6.7PSD can catch up and be as strong then it will only serve to be better for the consumer.
I'm usually of the opinion that Ford is always the best...but the new HD Ram has a Jake brake, I hear. That's a wonderful feature, plus, more and more I think that a diesel really should be an inline 6, rather than a V-8.
Actually lets get YOU straight. I have an 07 AND a 2010 ram; the '10 ram crew cab is MUCH roomier and longer than its predacessor. This is pure fact, go compare the two.
The retail prices are lower than the 09's, so yes, technically the base price is lower although not by much.
The interior on my Laramie witht he buckets and center console blows away the older model. Yes, its real stitched leather on the truck dash, two-tone interior, airconditioned seats, rear heaters, the works!
actually, if you look at the two side by side, you can see that's not true without even looking at the specs... the new crew cab is DEFINITELY bigger than the quad cab... the seat is DEFINITELY wider, and the interior has much higher quality components... I don't know what truck you're looking at but......
I own a 98' dodge 1500,and so far no problems what so ever..Laramie such great trucks..

@ilovemyford09 Well yeah now, but when it came out it was slightly lower than the LMM Duramax power ratings and equal to the 6.4 powerstroke ratings.

@noelie84 the 2011 silverado hd has a 17,000lbs of conventional towing and 21,700lbs for the 5th wheel towing. the 2011 dmax has 397hp and 765lbft

I have never owned a RAM pickup. But I think these guys are doing great things.
With the new rams you can sense a quality feeling, the interiors are far better than chevy's.
You can see that the guys running the spinoff Ram brand are truck/pickup guys, so these improvements just came natural.

They've put the exhaust brake as standard equipment since 2006/07, & it's been an optional add on since the 2nd Gen trucks.
