negative ghostrider....n ot stupid, jut correct..........dude, i work at a tire factory in fayetteville, nc....u may of heard of it...Goodyear??? on the production line, their are chemicals added to soften/or harden the tire...DA....yes soft tires perform better in off-roading, but why not just let psi out of the tire? their can be a happy medium between performance nad road wear........
superswamper= soft rubber, wear to quick....and the shitty thing is, the tire company can put additatives and chemicals to make the rubber harder, they just want u to wear them out quicker, so u bye more!!!!!! love/hate relationship with that performance and chubby making sound!!!!;)
@walkersdad01: Whoa there, you really don't understand how tires work. Soft tires are for off-roading and rock crawling. They grip obstacles and help you drive over terrain that would get most cars stuck. It's the price you pay to play in such a way, not a scam from TSL trying to make you buy more tires. Tougher tires are for soccer moms that need 50k miles from their minivan tires while driving on the street.
@walkersdad01 ya but they are soft so that you have more traction OFFROAD. if they were harder they may not necessarily have as much traction. just saying.
@1999Ram, I have a set of 37x13.50R15 boggers, 37x13.50R20 mud grapplers & a set of 35x15.50R15 TSL SX Swampers.....The loudest of all of them are the Mud Grapplers, followed by boggers & then the tsl's...Swampers, boggers, iroks, nor SSR's are not nearly as loud as Mud Grapplers...
thats what i mean...45-50 in my truck is when they start what i call "warmin up" haha....you go down the freeway at 100 and it sounds like you got a jet engine in your truck
Why would somebody give me a thumbs down?? Geez. People these days. it's not like I said I don't like super swampers. i just like the higher pitched howl of mud grapplers more. Swampers have more of a lower pitched howl
who cares about how loud they are? i mean to me it all comes with the joys of owning a 4x4 that might be a daily driver/ weekend wheeler. shit even my dads 33x 10.50's on his 91 YJ are that loud ( not sure on what brand) some cheep ones a friend found for him.
It's not that I was trying to make a video showing off how loud my tires are, I was simply trying to show how much noise they make while driving, even with music on. I happened to have a crappy techno CD in at the time. Driving music's driving music, people...come on. Everybody likes something different. Anyway, someone asked me on a forum how loud my new LTB's were, so I took some video of it. Ta-da! This is the result.
hey bro just so you know, my first comment wasn't a shot at you . it was a general statement about how sometimes the hum/ whistle( whatever you want to call it) of a mud tiire is just a fun thing to hear on a daily driver/ weekend wheeler. once again sorry if it offended you.
@GVilleCountryBoy , you sound like someone that's probably not even old enough to own their own vehicle if you've got to talk about your dads ride and not your own, HAHAHA
Love that sound. I got some 38x15.50 swampers. There is no road legal tire out there with 2 inches of tread. I work at a discount tire. dunn98632 is smokin crack.
i wish my bfgoodrich 33''x12.50''x15'' sound like that mine are sorta quiet the mudterrians good tread like two inches of tread but still rather quiet
oh.. you think thats load you come for a ride in my 06 cummins lift 7"s sitting on 35"x 16.5 on 16's TSL boggers with 800hp with a 6spd stick its loud
i was thinking about getting a set of LTB's for my Jeep. I drive it about 200 miles a year tops, and a lot of muddy woods trails. size 32 by whatever. or 32x9.5 TSL's. sound like a good idea?
Sure! They grip like a mofo offroad. Nice soft tread compound for gripping dry stuff. Not so much on wet stuff, but in the mud they really toss chunks up. :D
sweet! now how bad are they vibration-wise at highway speed? the Jeep sees a lot of 50-55mph driving on state roads to a car show and back. I know LTB's are loud, but I don't mind that. the 304 is loud enough anyways haha.
i got a old 93 gmc 1 ton 6.5 turbo diesal with 456 gears with 33x13.5x16.5 boggers and going slow enough you can feal every tread hittin the ground...
what does the top of your window say?

They balanced out fine for me but due to the soft tread compound they tend to lose chunks, which means re-balancing every now and then...
88pathoffroad 3 years ago
thats fine with me though.. haha. thanks man! might end up with TSL's though, they don't make LTB's in 32x9.50s.
