  • NIce shredding...What amp are you playing with here

  • that's maybe 3,000 notes.. not 50,000 *actually being serious*

  • You're a phony, i only counted 49,999 notes.

  • I just lost respect for you bro..I only counted 49,996 notes..wtf? Killer video. \m/

  • really nice, but i don't like the fender tones haha :D pick up a les paul please :D it would be even NICER!! :D love it ;)

  • @polijke well thank god its a suhr and it anally rapes any fender or les paul ever made.

  • Too many notes.

  • cool but not really 50,000 notes ?????? i mean for 50,000 you have to play 25,ooo BPM!!

  • Smokin playing man

  • it's always about technique, from the time you start till done.Good job Steve! Dean.

  • @phosphor8o thnx dean - i swear, i pledge to some day put a real piece of music on youtube, instead of all this audio diarrhea!!

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar it would be soo awesome if u showed us some of those licks.... plz

  • man you are a legend..

  • Hi I wish you success

  • beast.

  • Hair tie.

  • I LOVE MINDLESS SHREDDING

  • I just find it funny how it's always people that have NOTHING to show of their own that criticize guys like Steve. In the first place, you must be pretty damn stupid to keep watching the video AFTER he states "if you dont enjoy mindless shred..you have 3 seconds to leave." Playing guitar is all about having fun and enjoying music...everyone has their own definition of what that is. Steve is pretty damn proficient w/ that ax, and actually was a big part of me ordering a Suhr S3 :). Cheers!

  • insane who r u influences and when your playing alot of the fusion s tuff what scales do u use

  • insane who r u influences

  • nice technique !

  • you have the sicks legato runs ever. KUDOS.

  • PIGEON COOS ;)

  • Steve, you're so legit dude. Keep on rocking!

  • yeah ive seen mush worse than that!...........

  • hey man can i get tabs for the lick you did at 1:04 - 1:08 . id aprecciate it alot . i like riffs like that where its a jazzy / blues lick .

  • Are you using your port city loaded with private jacks?

Really like the tone and playing

  • @Mamertum345 why are you sorry?

  • @Mamertum345 "The title is a joke, by the way.." At least have the decency to read the description ;p And this is clearly a showcase of technique, which Steve has a lot of. Not every guitar video on YouTube tries to touch a fuzzy place inside your heart.

  • @Mamertum345 why do you insult this guy? what good does it do for you? just like it's his choice to choose what type of music he wants to play, it's your choice to listen to the type of music you love. Your statement is so damn childish. unbelievable. how old are you? I'm willing to bet you are 15...

  • @mojoefly - I have not ilnsuted anybody. Mine was a simply a criticism. If you cannot stand criticism, why are you looking stuff on the tube?

  • @Mamertum345 you must have skipped over the first 3 seconds of the video... I'll help you -- 0:01

  • @Mamertum345 i'm 16 and i think shredding is for anyone who wants to incoorporate, interesting, technically challenging licks and phrases into their playing. Don't spill out your jealousy without thinking next time - Steve is one of the most capable guitarists i've seen.

  • @olipickrockgod - Well, you are 16...I can have a conversation with you perhaps in 20 years. For now have fun listen to that crap.

  • @Mamertum345 you still didn't answer me..

  • @Mamertum345 do you really think i am unable to play melodically? like... do you honestly believe this is what i would play in a musical situation?

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar - No. I do believe that you can do better than what you showed in your video. Just post a good blues played with great phrases, good bendings and lots of soul, and I will give you all the credit that you think you deserve. Show me!!

  • @Mamertum345 for those 20 years you supposedly have on me, you still act like a dick. 'that crap' is music. go watch steves other videos and dare write crap on any of them. goodbye.

  • @olipickrockgod - yes, goobye. Just continue with that CRAP...

  • @Mamertum345 goodbye darling -.-

  • @Mamertum345 honestly. if youre gona bag on someone make a video of yourself first at least..

  • @giggs102 - Listen, I am like a somelier. I can tell you precisely what a good or bad wine is but, I am not making the wine myself. This guy could definitely play guitar...however, shredding is NOT the way to show how good you are as guitar player. An example of a true master??? JACK PEARSON - CHECK HIM OUT.

  • @Mamertum345 i know what true masters are like. check out phil x. he kills jack pearson.

  • this is more like ... tasty mindless shred

  • I counted each note and it doesnt add up to 50 000

  • let me guess u look up to jimi hendrix and jimmy page alot am i right?

  • Loose.

  • definately another of my favourite list

  • i'd just jizzed in my pants ... i'll keep this video 'cause videos like this one gives me the ambition and the disire to keep practice to become ever like this .

  • pfffft... it was barely 49 000

  • Amazing playing, and freaking beautiful guitar. Props.

  • Man, your jacking off moment gotta be epic !

  • one word - WOW

  • you're fucking awesome!!!!!! GRATZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • ACTUALLY, only 49,999! :)

    Nice work.

  • Well done mate! Thats a very profficient technique, someday Ill be that good....

  • Thats called a technique!!! To play fast with significantly low gain! I tip my hat :D Like they say - Respect! :D

  • Very cool fingering ... Wow that was very good

  • D00d OmFg man, u r SuCh Liar U d1d n0t plaY 50,oo0 N0t3s in 2 M1nut3s...

hahaha nice shredding man, very clean playing. keep it up

  • darn just 2 notes short , holdsworth did 50,002 notes in 2 minutes ;)

  • Ok. I will subscribe. But stop playing so damn sloppy then!

  • impressive playing and tone!

  • sorry i counted 49,999

  • my god this is insane

  • when you go move between strings do you use or alternative pick or sweep pick? right now I AP everything, but Im wondering if i should SP when moving between strings.

  • Reminds of Shawn Lane's playing SO much.

  • reminds me of chris poland a little bit

  • Wow. Awesome phrasing! Sounds like Paul Gilbert style with more jazzy scales and patterns. Truly great playing.

  • did you really count all those notes?

  • when you mute the sound, it looks like Fast Fawarding! haha, great play

  • i like mindless shredding but ur about 48100 notes short

  • I was gonna comment on how clean the playing was then the hair band appeared =P

    Even so, cool chops =D

  • @nikar0 pffffff! it makes LITTLE difference. i had it on 'in the spirit' of greg howe, because I had just taped a tutorial on his vibrato. seriously though, it's only useful if you're doing tapping

  • @nikar0 by the way, i meant that in a friendly manner! :P

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar No harm done :) I haven´t tried one myself to really know the difference, but i guess it depends on how tight it is as well!

  • @nikar0 Guys like Steve don't need a hair band to sound like that, watch any of his other videos...

  • I like the way you mix legato with picking, not many shredders do that.

  • sounds like Paul Gilbert at 0:40 :0 love it!

  • gotta cut back on the 'ol coffee there big fella!:D I like to hear you play on a guitar in open "G" tuning or with some kind of odd ass open tuning, but play the same riffs, just to see how it comes out. just an idea :D Cheers, and great playin' !

  • Sounds cool. Some licks remind me a little of Jason Becker

  • IT WAS JUST 9455 NOTES!

  • hi, any chance you could post settings and or what gear was used?? i really fancy trying to get this kind of tone out of my rig!!! cheers :-)

  • @ilikeheadcrabs I was using my Suhr S4, Mesa Mark V, no pedals in this clip.

I can't remember what I used for settings for this clip. The Mark V is a wild amp, but on MOST amps I plug into, I set the mids very high, bass fairly low, treble med-high, presence low.

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar awesome dude thanks a lot :-) im considering a Mark V to go with my Dual Recto which should be quite the pairing i think :-D

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar Where can I get a whole album-length recording of this?

  • I think my face just melted.

Awesome playing, not mindless shredding at all. Very musical too.

  • At last a guitarist who can shred and make it sound musical!!! That was goddamn great! You really have nice licks there mate! Definetly subscribe!

  • i didnt know dimebag played a strat. your style sounds just like him. very impressive sir

  • @FermerMetal ha, i've never really had him picked out as an influence.. definitely one of my favorite metal guitarists of all time

  • Your playing reminds me of Chris Poland, any influence there?

  • @bre4dfish i listened (and saw) megadeth in the past, but never much of Chris Poland. Friedman is king! :P

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar nuu Becker is king. :P then Firkins is next in line XD

  • It looks like a strat, but it has what looks like a flamed maple top, so I'm just gonna ask, what model is that?

  • @Neclipse666 looks like his suhr mate, possibly an s4 model?

  • Have to agree, great chops there! Nice and clean

  • def. not mindless shredding.

    great chops

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!! Just curious but who inspired u?

  • Awesome

  • Your tone sounds awesome! Super clean legato too, nice work !

  • What exactly are you doing? For example, if you're fooling around with scales, what scales? What parts of the scales are you accenting? You're blazing too fast for me to learn it by eye and ear, but I love your shredding dude. Please get back to me, I'd love to be able to do this subconciously as you seem to be doing.

  • Sounds like there's a relatively little amount of gain and yet you can still legato insanely well. Killer tone and playing.

  • @CityLights2009 i usually go for a happy medium between high and low gain, at least, for groovey stuff!

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar I like it ;) If you aren't big on harmonic bends, which I didn't see much if any here, try switching to the neck pickup, and I personally think then the sweeps and other epicness come out better :)

  • @CityLights2009 Gain is for pussy !

  • Nice work mate.

  • Three words to you...

    YOU ARE AWESOME.

    I like 1:20 part...sounds mad...

  • Hate to break it to you, but 50000 notes in 2 minutes is more than 400 a second.

Nah I'm just messing. :P, well it is actually more than 400, but nice playing, man.

  • hey that wasn't 50,000 notes! what a ripoff... I want more. great playing brotha

  • 50,000?? This is more like 45,000. Slacker :)

  • @DanMeagher YOU CAUGHT ME!

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar I counted 44,957 notes, you may get arrested for false advertising

  • Smokin!

  • You know this is at the edge of what a human can physically play, right? Loved it!

  • pretty good. what gauge string and pick do you use?

  • Steve, please can you show us the tabs from the licks 0:17- 0:24

Very nice playing and phrasing 5*

  • Kind of on the outer edge of physical possibility.

  • I don't think it's just mindless shred, I think you played great! your rhythm is really tight and you have great ideas, well done;-)

  • Wow, you're amazing. Oh, technically, a bend contains an infinate number of notes. So yea, I think the title fits.

  • Wow your really awesome!!! And your technique is flawless, I'm jealous!!!

  • the last piece with the clean sweep-tap just blows me away.. normally when people sweep they crank the distortion to 3 times as much as their own skill so people wont hear it in the mix of notes.

  • this is not mindless shredding this is just cool lick at high speed. Very nice!

  • wanktastic!

  • SICK

  • LULZ!...nice...also, I like the new lesson on infinite guitar! keep em coming

  • Nice very nice. When are you going to do some more lessons Steve?

  • Genial!!!!

  • frightening!

  • Hey Steve, where's your distortion tone coming from? Amp or pedal and which? It sounds great!! :-)

  • @chumbo Suhr -> Mesa Mark V -> port city 212

  • Rippin :)

    All the best!

    Pete. Vendetta

  • I'm trying out licks like these... but I'm working really hard to synchronise the left and right hand muting, without the hair band :) way more difficult and improves my playing by leaps and bounds (but I'll probably never get it up to this speed). But hair band or no hair band - your breakneck speed is admirable and licks are very nicely executed. Smooth, precise... reminds me of Greg Howe. Great video.

  • just lovely

  • yeah you're great!

  • smooth tone!!

  • great!

  • Nice! Troo paloids jem getha.

  • we like shred! we like shred!

  • Cool Licks, I like your style.

  • dude you can definately shred. the thing i like about your mucic is that you only do it when it is musically appropriate. btw, what pick are you using there? i find wegen and red bear picks totally awesome.

  • really clean man like ur bending techniques

  • Slop!

  • jk I love you so much paloid omg! xxx

  • @DannyBoy777 Troo paloids FOREVA!

  • Nicely done, Steve!

  • Love it :D
