  • i think its best if they wear a helmet, because they can damage there head pretty bad!! i subbedx to you can u subb back?? nice videooO!(:

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW POOOOOOORRRR HORSES

  • ugh...the falls and slips happen because either the rider is leaning too far in and throwing the horse off or the ground is too wet.. most of them where the riders where leaning too far and throwing the horse off

  • Ouch.. The balls these people have. Some of those horses look half broke, too. lol Well, whatever makes you happy i guess!!

  • I have no sympathy. you are in this sport. you are NOT wearing a helmet.

  • Holly french toast sticks that is hard core stuff........Protect our barrel racers!

  • Jesus christ, half of these people almost pulled their horses over top of them! LET GO OF THE REINS

  • @jumpthatjanx its hard to just "let go" when you are falling you body tells you to hang on so you do.. have you ever rode a horse before and fell off? i have plenty and have pulled my mare on top of me cuz its hard to let go..

  • @zerroa23 I ride 3-5 horses, 5 days a week. Yep I've fallen, I've also learned how to fall and let go of the reins.

  • i know that feeling and you just can't seem to get up fast enough and all you want to do is get out of the horses way. it's scary.

  • they shoudl wear helmets! :)

  • @blazemyhorse13 no way. no helmets for cowgirls!!!!! (we never said we were smart, but we never said we cared either.)

  • wooow 1.20 that must hurt a lot:O

  • for some reason i always feel more bad for the horse than rider...

  • @laurashorse When I was 4 years old I was riding a shetland pony for my mom (wearing a helmet) and got buck off and landed on my head and put a gash 6 inches long and had to get staples.

  • Nice job making the vids go with the music! What software did you use? :)

  • hurt..:||||

  • cowgirl hat is the only way to go!!!!!!!!

  • all i have to say is: Helmet?

  • Ouch!

  • I ride westerna nd I gotta say, my biggest fear is falling off and getting my foot stuck and being dragged. I've had many bad falls but that is my biggest fear...

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 Sorry, Fluffy - I worked as a pro paramedic full-time for many years. My specialty seem to be to get calls to falls off something or other with head injuries: that included off motorcycles, bicylces, skateboards, &, yes, HORSES. I saw enough people walk away without a scratch on their heads, but busted up helmets - & literally have held dying no-helmet people's brains in my hands while their brains ooozed all over my gloved fingers as I was trying to save them.

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 ....and might I mention I'd heard from many a physician at an ER tell barely bruised up people with proper ASTM helmets for their sport say "this helmt save your life"; & also heard them say, of those who were dead or totatlly brain-damaged that "this wouldn't have happened if he was wearing a helmet.....

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 ....Lastly, I'd like to add, I, too am a life long equestrian if you wonder - who wears a helmet whether the saddle is "english" or "western". And whenever I see a friend of mine, a man who rode his whole life until the day his well trained horse unexpectedly ditched him because of a spring gust of wind, try to just walk across a room because the brain damaged he sustained w/o a helmet, it reminds me to always wear mine....

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 I would watch what you say and think carefully. Helmets protect you if worn properly. They protect from concussions which are serious head traumas and can prevent your neck from snapping as the back of the helmet helps support your neck. Read up on your facts before commenting... It is a personal choice for most shows but the Olympics now requires it worn when warming up. The Olympics would not require something that does not work now would they?

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 I am in the medical field as well, an EMT and studying veterinary medicine. Seeing that I am not the only one debating with you, it is obvious that your facts are not as legitimate as you make them. But to each its own. I hope you are smart enough to make the proper decisions for yourself when it comes to riding and to stop arguing over something that is silly. A helmet protects you, that's all we need to know. ;)

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 You're 12 and studying in the medical field? Sounds like bullshit. The entire point of a helmet is TO PROTECT YOU FROM BRAIN DAMAGE. Which happens when you hit your head. Are you dense?

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 Also it sounds like you were wearing a cheap helmet that wasn't adjusted properly if it slid around your neck and had "clips". Nowhere does anyone say a helmet will protect you from a broken spine. So wow your mom is super smart.

  • Comment removed

  • @FluffyUnicorns7 Well no crap. A cheapy poorly adjusted helmet is not going to help. All the helmets I've ever owned have had one snap and it's near the ear. I've never actually seen a helmet with one near the chin, was it a bike helmet? Just because your helmet did not help you doesn't mean that other peoples cant and wont help them.

  • excuse me cowboy hats aren't stupid slutty skin tight pants are!!

  • At 1:18 where the horse flips on the rider, does any one know what happened to the girl after? That is scary.

  • She got her face slit open from the horn. She had a bunch of stiches and they sew it all back on. To this day she doesnt barrel race anymore. She only rides western.

  • I've been barrel racing for 5 years on mt spazzy Q horse mare and I've never fallen off during a run

  • and THAT is why western riders should be required to wear helmets! A stupid hat is NOT going to protect your head when a horse falls on you, tramples you, or you slam into the wall.

  • @JennasSquared Okay. Western ridingis supposed to look (and is) very tough. You have to look tough (which we are). Thats just how it is, a cowgirls sport, we are just the only ones brave enough to inherit the way it always has been done, btw our "stupid hats" look way better than your ugly helmets. Helmets are hot and sweaty. They are gross, hats they actually have some class!

  • @JennasSquared we can do whatever the fuck we want. If we are willing to take the risk, then we are willing to deal with the consequences.

  • @JennasSquared I usually never wear a helmet, unless i am showing my horse english and am required to, but I just want to say that Ive fallen off numerous times (without a helmet) and have always been fine. And the other day i fell off (with a helmet) and i got a concussion. I prefer my straw over my velvet thank you very much:)

  • hey... if u wanted 2 ptu a trick at the end pick a vid of a little girl on her shetland! CAN U SAY ADORABLE!

  • yeah the reason it fell and flipped on her is because she tightened her reins and she wasnt properly taking care of the horse. If you barrel race you should always have your horses teeth floated no exceptions.. the horse was in pain and wanted the pressure off the bit and when she tightened the horse had no choice but to flip on her.. so it was the riders fault.

  • @MsMarissa2011 You should always have your horse's teeth floated no matter what they do!

  • I love watching COWGIRLS!!!!

  • And that's why I wear a helment

  • thats not extreme barrel racing, its just regular.

  • if anyone saw that show untamed and uncut there is one people that got hurt in one of the smallvideo it was a black horse and the horse fell right on top of her the person still survived.

  • ladies and gents

this is why helmets were invented <3 :P

  • 1:21!!! It'd be a miracle if that girl survived that! I've seen some knarley stuff...but that is pretty intense!

  • @pinkfeathers2006 I seen that on Animal Planet and it like ripped half her face off. very intense.

  • Well' I'll tell you that I hav been riding barrel horses since I was 8 months old and barrel racing since I was about 1 year. You learn alot from the falls and spil you take. Everytime.

  • i saw this one fall in another video and the girl riding fell off and was ramed into the fence on teh way down because her horse was running "home"

  • wow i have alot more respect for western riders now !

  • Excatly learn how to ride a horse girls

  • @josephginn100

    what exactly does that mean?

  • @josephginn100 um yea? no need to be rude.....

  • thats what those stupid wanna be cowgirls get

  • LOL barrel racing accidents are the best to watch. I had a horse fall on me and shatter my leg,but i got back on and finished my ride...Gotta be tough to do that sport!

  • cowboys don't wear helmets, that's called natural selection....

  • @saminiky ahahahaha true man!

  • I think it's weird that the people in charge of these shows and events aren't making the competitors wear helmets. It's just as dangerous as any other horse sport.

  • not tying to be mean but U IDIOTS WEAR A HELMET PLEASE

  • Wear a helmet!! (I do, and I have only once in 16+ years had a mild cuncussion)

Helmets may look dorky but really, you have very limited potential as a barrel racer if you are severely injured or dead...

  • Love it goods and bads of barrel racing

  • I love this video, it is awesome. Reminds me of accidents i have had in the past! But I can laugh about them now. But just last yr March my sons horse decided lets see what happens if i rear up then buck and rear up again. Well the first rear she was up then right back down then a quick buck then she reared back up that is when her back legs slid in the soft sand and she sit back on me, and snapped my humerus in my arm. Operated on it April of this yr. I'm ready to get back in the saddle tho :-)

  • omg! some of these falls :O

  • the only thing i was thinking at 0:49 was GET THAT FOOT OUTTA YOUR STIRRUP!!

  • Wow...put a helmet on, ladies. Better to lose a little pride than your brain cells.

  • on video 13 where is that arena???

  • At 1:06 I had a horse do that with me just cantering around the arena...I don't think he was upside down that long though xD He just couldn't get up because of the saddle horn. You should finish this!!! (:

  • love the video!:) i hate when people brag about how good they are at ridding and take all the credit from the horse! the horse is doing 75% of the work and riders sometime take all the credit!

  • Good job of showing what barell racers risk when they ride

  • To love the sport. You gotta love the pain.

  • @MegaHorsesForever this is so true even tho u get hurt i still get back up and ride i have gotten some of the stuff in the video done to me before and i have the scars to prove it i have been barrelracing for 10 years and i have alot of scars to prove that ive gotten hurt before but i still get back up and i still ride to this day

  • ouch

  • Too tight too fast to handsy, whatever.

But overall, when done right, Barrel Racing would be a very exciting career!

It's the same as any sport, or any Equine discipline- you have to know what youre doing! and have fun doing it

  • @ParkerBean2008 Nicely said.

  • Yeah you should finish this video!

  • hey guys so i see a lot of ppl like this video thanks for all the views comments and subscriptions :) do you guys think i should finish it?

  • Whats the name of the one video of where the horse stepped on the girl in the pink shirt.?

  • Love it .. see a lotta rider errors though! but also a lot of horses stepping wrong

  • i love the camera angles

  • i love it.AWSOME..MAKE MORE

  • @tia1922 haha dont worry im planning on making lots more:)

  • I like it!

  • AWESOMENESS!!!
