A note about how we protect the speeders. We use remote control devices to operate the crossing arms, bells, and lights. Normally there are 2 of us at the grade crossings, in this case I was up on the tower shooting the video and watching traffic. Mike and myself communicate with the speeders using 2 meter radios and either one of us can control the crossing devices or command the speeders to stop. We stop at least 6 vehicles prior to letting the speeders through, that stops gate runners!!
