THANK YOU for all the supportive comments...We know Marion and the rest of IOWA is in this with us...I have witnessed so much love and support for our city over the past few days...It's times like these that define a nation...We are the heart of the country and we will beat on!!!
Night and day from Katrina... No mass looting, stealing, killing, begging for something and refusing to help fix their own afterwards. Nope I guess it can be that C.R is what??...91.5 percent white..wonder if this has ANY thing to do with it..we'll seee i guess ;-) We're praying for you guys over there , you'll get back on your feet soon enough!!
i live in marion, like kcrg said, we dont know how it feels to lose our homes but yet we can see the people who did and see the fate lost inside them.. god bless everyone who lost and or is helping with this disaster, god bless cedar rapids
i know i'm going to spend a LOT of time in CR helping clean up when this is all over, and i've told my friends to come help as well. i live in marion, but im in CR almost everyday you know? it's also my home.
my heart just goes out to you and your family/friends! People walk into Road Ranger and tell me their story and I have no idea what to say because my heart just breaks. I think again after work tonight I'll come out and sandbag.

At that point she was lucky we had time to do more sand bagging and get stuff moved out...We just went back and checked the house at about 6:45 pm water still not on the porch...YET!!! She'll be alright...Iowan's are resillient!!!

100 year plan- definately getting flooded.
