what vocal editing software are you using? im using garage band on mac , and dont have any auto editing vocals like dynamic or reverb thing for the background, instead we should adjust it manually .. by the way nice choice of mic , i have the same one as yours , really helpful video ! cheers

Aaaah character limit!...also...would the normal version of the mic u use (with just a normal bit on the end, not USB) be fine for recording with, or is there a better sound quality with the USB connection than through the mic jack? ok.. i think i figured out how to aline the music and vocals, now my question is, where did u get the music from? mp3/mp4 songs have vocals in it, and removing the vocals in it doesnt sound good at all... any suggestions from anyone?

ok, so you added the vocals, and the backup vocals, how did u add the music? and how do u line them up precisely? theres always like a 10th of a second delay when i record. the music comes ahead of the vocals. and where do u get the music from?

On your videos you dont wear headphones. Is that because you record a second video just perferming / acting to the allready recorded track?

so basically you record yourself with your camera whilst recording your vocals w/backing track... then upload the video and match up the video with the audio that you recorded, and mute the video audio?

Yup! I use the headphones most of the time (so the backing and my vocals are totally seperate for a cleaner sound). I then mix the backing and the vocals just like I would for just an audio version, then import to movie maker and mute the sound from the camera. The only tough part is lining it up so it. it's used as a transition though, so it's kind of difficult until you get used to it...

go to [rehanfx {dot} org {slash} split_video {dot} htm] and download the file... it will automatically add to your movie maker...

you can find it under transitions

Thanks Shannon! I always have the problem with youtube making the backing softer. I'm going to try saving it in higher quality, and I'm thinking about buying the same mic you have because you always sound fab!

I use a Canon Powershot S2 for most of my recording and it works pretty well without having focus issues if that helps any:) It also has stereo audio recording built into the camera which can be good if you're feeling lazy but it's really sensitive.

It sure does when it gets moved around, the auto focus is so sensitive (hence the reason I said in the video why I want a new camera, lol)! But it's good for what it is . . . A photo camera that takes video, not a video camera :)

I just subscribed! I don't really subscribe to much..... My camera is a simple one. When I first started. I recorded on my webcam! Then i recorded on my phone (sony w910i) then I got my other phone (sony k850i) then i started to record with my camera (kodak c619) It records in mp4 files so i convert it to wma edit it then convert back to mp4 th higher settings. Its quite boring. But worth it.....

ohhh and the duet thingy..wow u take a lot of steps...usually i just get whomever is singing with me and have them do the part they have or i do mine with the music and send it to them or vise versa..than add mine and mix it with the video in windows movie maker ..seems easy to do it like that! lol

You can do that for an "audio" duet video, but for the "split Screen" effect, like on my Dangerous Game Duet video, you have to use Adobe Premiere Pro :) Windows Movie Maker doesn't give you that effect option. MUAH!
