  • Mediocrities everywhere... I absolve you...

  • He's very silky smooth in both playing and movement...

  • Ranki is indeed more than a pianist, he is an artist of the highest calibre. There are no histrionics, only the finest detail of the music. Whether it be the Beethoven 'Waldstein', Schumann's C major 'Fantasie' or the Stravinsky 'Petrushka' Ranki always delivers a performance that goes to the very soul of the music.

  • @TheColin60

Wonderfully put! In fact, I'd extend your comment to any kind of great human achievement. I believe that great works - musical, scientific, literary, etc. - need to be approached with a sense of awe and respect.

  • @TheColin60

All this 'artist' talk is just an excuse used for not practicing enough.

  • @1Thompsonmusic I agree, practice makes a good pianist not his "artistic supernatural talent enabling him to understand the SOUL of music" ... Whether we prefer someone's style is the same thing as preferring vanilla or chocolate ice cream - as long as the pianist has practised enough and plays well, style is just a personal taste thing. No magic, just practice (by analogy, good ice cream is good ice cream, now if you hate Vanilla then you get the another flavour!)

  • @Byron10301

Do you realise how irritating that paragraph makes you seem? Typical youtuber. Grow some hairs on yer chest. Be a fucking man, not a spoilt little brat the rest of your life.

  • @1Thompsonmusic No sir, YOU are the youtuber. I agreed with you, you disagree with the one who agrees with you - that makes you a ... what? YOUTUBER!

  • This is what a good technique looks like for me. Not only does it sound like art, it also looks like art.

I have never liked the nosferatu fingers of pianists like Lang Lang.

  • Ayy lastima q ya no ay de esos hombres...aquellos talentosos independientes romanticos musicos etc...ahora solo ay machistas, dependientes d uno,no saben aser nada d kasa, unos frios, etc

    q desepcion -.-¡

  • I adore this concerto. Great job here!

  • Me myself the author that I'm Glad to hear this mov. of Concerto, anyone who likes classical in the planet can hear this peace of music of camera about the class of composer I am and can tell feelings with it the tone like symphony and 1st mov B the musicians who are in the play in our days are the symbols the other of the players of other class and has the talent of classical musicians masonic pieces for people and like this music and sometimes feel like him or me.

  • Why is he performing without the lid? How does it affect the sound?

  • does anybody here understand that this pianist is a great musician?

he studied at budapest conservatory and was one of three pianists allowed to go abroad. he in fact does not have the best technique but his musical talent is out of question. here his phrasing and structuring of this work . there is liberty and structure. its mozart!!!!

  • Wow... Just wow people... You people need to learn to cooperate, not compete.

  • All these comments have just reinforced my opinion that the world would be much better if there were no religions at all. You Christians and Muslims are as bad as each other...in the end you believe the same rubbish. Also, science says there is no such thing as race. We are all descended from a group of around ONLY 100 PEOPLE who lived in East Africa 70,000 years ago. We are much, much more closely related than you think. I am center-right so no shit about liberal stuff either. I'm no socialist!

  • @PhysicalsimForever If there is no race perhaps the different peoples are at different levels of ascendancy. For examples, the African peoples could be several millenia closer to the ape than the white races. This would make sense because man did not suddenly appear but evolved.

  • The piano player's technique is not very good. It looks like there is extra tension in his hands and wrists.

  • @farmermuk The movements of a pianist is very subtle. You cannot pass judgement by just looking superficially at things like this. He is not just a piano player as you casually say. He is a first class pianist, musician and artist with a large repertoire. His technique is accurate and brilliant.

  • @farmermuk You mean it needs to be played more effortlessly?

  • the pianist...kinda looks like dimetri martin

  • Theres a female black violinist anyway at 2:05 so no biggy ok ha

  • @HolyMotherofGod: Oh, and by the way, in case you hadn't noticed the last two comments I made were riddled with sarcasm. Dawg's inverse racism was inciting me to give as good as he was giving. He was incredibly offensive. "ameriKKKa" strike a chord at all? You're choosing to ignore his comments entirely. Do yourself a favour and learn to read all of the comments first!

  • @HolyMotherofGrid: Clearly it is you who needs to crawl under a rock. Dawg instigated every racial slur known "flat ass priceledged white male" are you kidding me. Are you incapable of comprehension? Or is it, as I suspect, only racist because he's black and nothing can be said about African Americans but you can be as racist as you want when it comes to whites. You're utterly idiotic!

  • GADDAMMIT!! Where's the second part?!!! Aaargh! Youtube, Sony, UMG, I so, so, hate you guys.

  • What's with the racial nonsense and ignorance? Some of the best classical musicians and opera singers right now happen to be black! Just because someone makes a stupid comment under a youtube clip, doesn't mean they represent a whole race of people.

  • @dawg00000: Excuses, excuses. Black musicians don't have to play 100 times better, they are, as you say, only interested in hip-hop, and other low-life music genres. That's why they are not in symphony orchestras around the world: they, like you, aren't interested in good and genuine music. You are truly pathetic and contemptable.

  • @Chopin1974l Whoa!!! Racist much? There are plenty of superb African musicians of all kinds all over the world - they may not be as visible in the symphonic genre as some would expect them to be, but they are still there to some degreeYou need to chill out, find yourself a good rock to crawl back under for a while, and do a bit of actual thinking for a change.

  • @dawg00000: Its because African Americans are only good at sport and privledged white males or females are fantastic at classical music and in fact ALL music idioms. Just face it dawgystyle we white folk are simply superior to you:-) Oh, btw, you are insulting Your God again. Naughty, naughty.

  • @Chopin1974l, Flatass privileged straight white christian males choose other flatass privileged straight white christian males along w/ a handful of extremely talented Asians so da flatasses can say they have "persons of Color" in da orchestra (in a divide & conquer strategy). This is fake diversity. Black folk r vastly underrepresented in euro classical orchestras & need 2 play 100x better 2b picked. It's typical ameriKKKan racism. No, ALLAH is insulted by you & She's coming 2 spank u.

  • @dawg00000 I can tell you, the orchestra and opera directors are not racist; they are usually very liberal and intellectual, so they would not take one's race into consideration when hiring. They care for talent and if a black, asian, hispanic, etc... is more talented than a white person, they will hire the minority. I in fact saw a performance of "The Marriage of Figaro” where the part of Cherubino was played by a black woman, and she was the best of them all.

  • @dawg00000 There are simply less people of minority interested in performing classical music (not % but volume). It is not discrimination. See Wynton Marsalis Haydn Trumpet Concerto part 1

  • I fucking love the comments on this video.

  • @dawg00000: By the way your heathen religion testifies that there is no God but Allah, and that Muhammad is a messenger of Allah. Are you aware that you are actually heretical by uttering the words of contempt you have for Allah. You're inbreeding has confused you in to thinking that Muhammad is greater than Allah. Oh you poor, pathetic, confused, ignorant fool.

  • @Chopin1974l, I have no contempt for Allah. I even capitalize the pronouns that refer to His name. I only wish He would stop getting spankings on His hiney from Muhammad (SAAW) all the time. Do you think He likes to get spanked? Is Allah a spankee fetishist? Or is Muhammad (SAAW) a spanker fetishist? What do you think, Choppy?

  • @dawg00000: Lol...You are a complete idiot! Not only that you are trash and contemptible. Moribund? Classical music is hardly stagnant. Why are music schools all over the globe full beyond capacity if it's dying? Why are recitals for artists such as Kissin or Lang Lang booked and sold out through 2015 if it's dying? You know absolutely nothing. Lol. You are pathetic beyond words.

  • @dawg00000: Mozart had some talent? Are you kidding me. Lol. Mozart was composing by the age of five and was born with pure genius. He is hailed by all as a genius. Throwing a few rhyming words together and placing a beat under it requires no genius or gift. Dancing around in the dirt requires no talent! Hip-hop by comparison is utter nonsense. Music of West Africa is primitive and rudimentary.

  • @dawg00000: Sales are down all over the world not because of racism( there are plenty of white hip-hop artists) but because of the violence in the language. Hip-hop is no longer what dj kool herc intended. It is now associated with gangs and the inherent violence associated. It has devolved in to a mélange of hate filled lyrics and gangsta themes. It is far from beautiful!

  • @dawg00000: The heights of your sheer, unadalterated arrogance amuses me. You are so wrapped up in your warped world. The profundity of West African art, really. Why must you tear down european art to make yourself feel better? Why can you not appreciate the beauty in both? You are a crass, boorish hypocrite. That is why! Furthermore inverse racism is still racism and it aptly describes you.

  • @Chopin1974l, Don't get me wrong: euro artists over the centuries have some talent. Even mozart had some talent. But euro artists pale in comparison to African artists of Color. My view is that IN COMPARISON euro art is one titanic fart in Allah's face by Muhammad (SAAW). Howver, euro art on its own can be decent.

  • @dawg00000: Okay, compare your hip-hop with a west African sculpture and I'll compare the classical genre to the beauty of a Michelangelo or Botticelli or Davinci. Using these comparisons, the West African sculpture is indeed primitive and crass when compared to the sublime and highly advanced techniques of the aforementioned masters. Wonderful analogy you used:-)

  • @Chopin1974l, The profundity of west African art makes the art of those privileged white males seem like one of Muhammad's (SAAW) enormous farts in the face of Allah.

  • @dawg00000: Starting in 2005, sales of hip hop music in the United States began to severely wane, leading Time magazine to question if mainstream hip-hop was "dying." Billboard Magazine found that, since 2000, rap sales dropped 44%, and declined to 10% of all music sales, which, is a significant drop from the 13% of all music sales where rap music regularly placed.

  • @Chopin1974l, Of course hip-hop sales are donw in ameriKKKa: racism.

  • @dawg00000: ..until that moment, the classical genre holds centre stage. It has proved itself through centuries of performance. You'll be lucky if hip-hop survives another decade. By the way, the reason you can't list thirty concert halls closing down is because you don't base your comments on facts only on the illusory distortions of your racist and biggoted mind.

  • @Chopin1974l, I don't even have enough characters to type to list 30 euro concert halls tottering in the red.

  • @Chopin1974l, hipe will continue for centuries while euro is already crawling into the dustin of history. Its whimperings in its moribund state are akin to the cries of Allah as Muhammad (SAAW) spanks His hiney for the mess He's made here on earth, especially ameriKKKa.

  • @dawg00000: You are racist! You are making this issue about colour. It isn't! You, sir, do not have an appreciation of Rachmaninoff or Mozart because you do not understand it and think it's beginner music for hip-hop when in fact the rudimentary harmonies of hip-hop are broken down versions of jazz. When hip-hop lasts and is played 300 years from now then maybe an argument may be possible...

  • @dawg00000: One more thing. You claim that music of communities of color has taken over euro classical in just a matter of decades. Hmmm. This "colored" music of which you speak has been around for thousands of years. Furthermore there is no competition. Also, I would hardly call Rachmaninoff "starter music." You are unbelievably arrogant!

  • @Chopin1974l, So I'm supposed to list 30 euro classical places that will close--just for you? Why don't you do a google search for yourself and note all the places tottering on ruin thanks to not just your bush presidency but lack of interest by young people in the music of white folk. As I said, getting children in their infancy interested in mozart and rachy as starter music is fine, but as their tastes refine and mature, hip-hop will grab their attention as it has all over the world.

  • @dawg00000: You know absolutely nothing of refined music tastes. Hip hop is NOT for refined tastes. Bach is! Mozart is! So on and so forth. Your incredible ignorance is highlighted even further by your inconsistent statements. You are crass and boorish. Rude and ill educated. Low brow and trash. Oh, and please name 10 opera houses, 10 ballet companies and 10 symphony halls that have closed down in the last two years. Please!

  • I love 3:58, only Mozart could come up with such beautiful music! I could listen to this over and over and never get tired of it.

  • Angry exchanges and squabbles do not belong on a music page like this - it would be an insult to Mozart and to art to swear and insult - when you see idiotic comments please refrain from responding to them - flag them as spam and leave it at that. Long live Mozart, thanks for uploading.

  • @Byron10301, You are quite humorous. Mozart's letters reveal jokes about flatulence. Farting is a human function. Even Muhammad (SAAW) farted in the face of Allah as he prayed. Indeed, when he bent down 2 pray his anal sphincter would have been more susceptible 2 farting as his buttock cheeks would widen. This phenomenon iz part of the human condition. You seem bent on pretending that Mozart did not engage in common human activity. He is not Allah.

  • I say a lot of bad things about Islam myself, because i think it's a sick religion - but what I'm saying is, this page is not the place to have that sort of discourse. Let's just listen to the music!

People come here to listen to Mozart and enjoy anyway, why spoil their fun by reminding about what problems we have today with islam and muslims ...

  • @Byron10301, I think Islam is the best religion--that's why I put SAAW after the Prophet's name. Islam keeps it real. That's why people are jealous of it. We must suppress free speech so that Islam is free of criticism. Muhammad (SAAW) cutting farts in Allah's face is not criticism. It's merely a human function.

  • Salah satu komposisi piano konserto Mozart terfavorit saya. 3:29 very beautiful melody.

  • we cannot escape history. euro classical is starter music, while hip-hop is for refined tastes. The music of Communities of Color is so indubitably brilliant that it already has eclipsed euro classical in a matter of a few decades. Witness the orchestras, ballet companies, opera houses closing. They are whimpering in the throes of near death. There is no resurrection for them. The fat lady has sung.

  • @dawg00000 teenagers got refined taste for music...ok.....

  • @dawg00000 LOL what is your musical background? A rap - oi hip hop tune - or song - is unbelievably primiitive in comparison to what is called 'classical' which isn't all European BTW. These hip hop artists have the equivalent technical ability of a finger painter.

  • @thethikboy, Hip-hop has the elegance of a West African sculpture, while euro classical in comparison is primitive and crass. Your musical tastes need to be refined. Listen to hip-hop for a few months for several hours a day--it will grow on you.

  • @dawg00000 Hip Hop is a thoroughly American pop culture phenomenon - it has little to do with African folk culture - it arose from black ghettos in the seventies - those who have studied African music understand jazz has deeper roots in that culture. These jazz idioms found their way into so many contemporary classical composers like Stravinsky...or Gershwin.

  • @thethikboy, Communities of Color have all the richness and beauty of Africa in their DNA. white folk, i.e., straight white christian males, tried to lynch and rape it out of them, but it didn't work.

  • The sun sets at 6:00.

  • love to play to hanamoon

  • amazing interpretation. we're doing this in school.

  • Amazing performance. Mr. Ranki great as always.

  • what grade is the piano part?

    ...just curious

  • music it self is nice but its MONO that make me cry :(

  • оч. хорошо, правда есть и лучшие исполнения моцарта

  • @sergeyale good job

  • wow he plays really incredible.

  • I see absolute beauty. This has been one of my favourites since I was 7 and now I am 31

  • I envision angels on clouds as hear the opening theme. What do you see?

  • @FaaarLeft I SEE BUT MOST IMPORTANT, I FEEL. I FEEL GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER MY BODY...I FEEL LIKE I AM GETTING A BRAIN MASSAGE. THE FEELING IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION. i see completeted projects. i see all kinds of colors emanating from a bright spot source.

  • @FaaarLeft

arguably the greatest genius of them all, certainly in music, - the noblesse of music - being interpret as such. Its both a privilege and a great responsibility to interpret Mozart

  • Do you know where is the part 2 of this movement?

  • uuhhh... if you haven't found it by now, it's actually a playlist... lol

  • Ranki is really one of the greatest pianist ever. Nobody plays mozart so well. I don't understand why he is not more famous.

  • The greatest thing I create on my greatest day isn't one millionth of what Mozart can do

  • Im guessing youre mentally retarded then

  • My 10 year old friend played this :D

  • his jiggles distract me from the ictus of his baton pattern

  • i'm just starting to learn how to play violin, so this is super inspiring.

  • super awesome

  • beautiful!!!

  • 3:58 is so moving, I can't explain it.

  • @rkegr sequence of fifths, to be theoretical:P to tired at the moment for spiritual acquaintance..

  • @rkegr I came to this video just to hear that part. = )

  • Must admit i havnt really gotten into this whole discussion you guys are having. But unlike a all salad diet i can never get tired of this, its just briliant!

  • It has to do with how your body processes everything you put in it. Some people are naturally slow metabolisers making it hard for them to lose weight. Also, get off your diet and lets see what happens. You have to stay on it for it to be effective. That's why I think dieting is the lazy way of losing fat. Get up and move. Exercising is crucial but this man can't move because of his spinal problem, therefore he can't lose weight effectively. So it's not his fault.

  • no dressing, but with little pieces of roast beef tomatoes-, onion, green pepper, and a litle( safe brand)cottage cheese or sour cream

  • salad

  • Now, you seem to be ignorant. You can't use your body as a basis for the bodies of others. He probably has a lower metabolism than you. Also, yes there is an excuse for "gorging" oneself. Athletes need to do that to keep up their energy levels. The intense amount of exercise they do balances it out. Also, what do you mean "eat in moderation". So you eat sometimes but not all the time? Eating is simple. You eat if you're hungry and eat until you are full. You're just jealous of his talent :P

  • Think about it please. If your spine is messed up, that would eliminate most possible exercises, meaning the only way he could lose weight is through a diet. Also, most diets only keep the weight off as long as you follow it and when you get off the diet, the weight comes back.

  • omg you idiot this conductor conquered insurmountable odds of a horrible degenerative disease to become one of the great conductors in the world he is an inspiration to the human spirit go google his lifes story before you open your worthless stupid mouth

  • I have much respect for the conductor. If I looked like that, I probably wouldn't be able to do anything in public without dropping my head in shame.

  • hmmmm

  • Thats what u call respect?

  • Yes, that is what I call respect. Respect for his ability to do something great even though he is disadvantaged. Maybe I worded it wrong but I was trying to say that I don't have his kind of determination. Determination that is necessary to carry on even though you are partially disabled.

  • Please explain to me how his weight affects his conducting in anyway? Why do you even care so much that he is overweight. How does this affect your life? Seriously explain this to me.

  • Anyone talking about his weight? We were talking about the fact that his spine is deformed. It limits him greatly yet he is still able to succeed. His determination is what we're talking about.

  • Mr. Tate suffers from...a spinal malformation resulting from congenital spina bifida and kypho-scoliosis. During his childhood.....he was subjected to leg irons, rigid body corsets and operations that left him bedridden for months at a time........one leg is dwarfed and almost useless, and his spinal structure is so twisted that his internal organs are permanently compressed. Undaunted, he proceeded to earn a doctorate in eye surgery at Cambridge.

  • O thats why, well his a great conduktur anyow. I yeast cant help thinking he locks a cind of fanny, nothing bad about that

  • Go Go Wikipedia FTW!

Its alright i love wiki too XD

  • Ur face looks funny... fuck don't u have any shame when u say that... doesn't matter what u look like as long as u got the skills and talent to do something u'll still become famous even if u got half a face left -_-

  • i agree 100 procent, nothing bad about locking funny. Hes a great conductor i agree

  • procent? :S I understand if you spelt "precent" or something, but procent? You are retareded.

  • Wtf????? The song never finished......

There was like.. 5 minutes left. :I

  • There's a part 2.

  • Noob. If a piece doesn't finish, look for a part 2 before saying stupid things please.

  • Whoa, get on my ass, much? I was just saying that 5 minutes weren't uploaded on the same video.

    No need to PMS.

  • Get on your ass? What the hell? You made yourself look stupid and that's why I responded. Shut up now and don't make stupid comments in the future. Also, PMS is a noun, not a verb, so your last sentence makes no sense.

  • When I stated there were 5 minutes left, it made me look stupid? Stupid how? Obviously, I noticed that the song was missing.. 5 minutes; what about that is stupid? If you're referring to my not thinking of searching for a "part two," then excuse my negligence.

Honestly, for not looking for a freaking "part two," you call me a noob, and insult me by naming me as a person who says stupid things. I would say that was a very immature reaction.

  • If you had thought a little longer, ou wouldn't have posted something useless, and yes i was talking about how quick you are to post before trying to figure it out yourself. Being impatient is immature. You demonstrated much impatience in your attitude and your original actions in posting something useless.

  • Great performance! But listen to Ranki's other performances on CD's: Mozart sonatas and other piano concertos, Works of Bartok (with stunning "Sonata for two pianos and percussion" with Kocsis), Stravinski, Ravel, Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, Haydn sonatas. Everything is just great.

His playing is so clear and natural. This is simply pure music without any cheap tricks.

    Highly recommended!

  • lovely!

  • Very great pianist, I'm gald I found him over the net. I really enjoy the way he plays.

  • I believe so..

Anyhow info on his summer classes could be found on WilliamBennet web site. Denis Boriakov would be one of his assistants. Great fan of DB.

Wish I could attend :-) , Best of luck.

  • Do you know whether he teach and where ?

  • Great stuff...

Is Wibb the flutist ? Anyone?

  • Yes :)

  • PINCHES LOCOS JAJAJAJA

  • Nice performance and just right. With mozart, the magic is in the structure of the music itself - no great need for flamboyance.

  • Wow, he's of the same generation and had the same teacher as Jeno Jando!

  • i can not find the song i want so it was a cool thing to hear

  • I think the conductor does have brittle bone disease, and I really like Dezso Ranki but I wonder why he's not that famous like Lang Lang or Miley Cyrus or whatever......^-^

  • long live mozart

  • He is very good pianist, very musical, his Mozart is gentle and light and in style but for me it's too gentle - not enogh colors, not enough tension and development. However I prefer him over Leif Ove Andsness - he plays Mozart like a study without any emotion.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I own this recording already and now it's wonderful to be able to watch the performance also!

  • Ranki is the greatest pianist of the last forty years. I don't know why he is not very famous.

  • Does Ranki have a giant publicity machine behind him?

  • Like it! Which orchestra is it? And who's the conductor (he seems to have brittle bone disease or something else)?

  • excellent! beutifully played, very musical

  • The tempo and dynamics of this performance are just so perfect. I guess most of the credit goes to the conductor, but one can't overlook the great orchestra, the pianist, and the recoding engineer of course.

  • je t'aime Dezsö Ránki !!

  • He's great, but I "lost" track of him.

  • Awesome video!!!! x3 thanks for posting!

  • He has spina bifida.. the conductor, not Mozart of course, he's not just 'kinda fat'. For me the second movement is my fav of this concerto

  • fgat????? Jeffry Tate was born with spina bifida you idiot

  • you are a jackass

  • Great Song... one of mozart's best piano concertos...

  • great!:)

  • @miyakobito23 isitt

  • Thank you!!
