  • Very cool. Been looking to find a find a way to make small VAWT's since the county will only allow me one tower . Might look into somethin similar. Thanx for the inspiration. Thanx

  • I am making my own also. I'm on my 2nd try. The 1st was the 55gal plastic barrels, big mistake. I will put up a video on the 2nd. My biggest problem was finding a good inexpensive barring system. Then I had the idea of the goose necks off bicycles. So far so good. It looks like your having the best luck with the straight vertical wind turbine.

    Excellent Work.

  • thanks, cant wait to see your project.

    regards

  • Thats way cool design. Are you charging any batteries?

  • i am not yet, still playing with the design and setup.

  • Very good designs there I like the idea of useing Vawts built in to buildings and living areas .

  • my savonius is on hold too, it is still spining away no trouble. i am having alot of fun with my V series.

i saw your videos and it think you are a better builder then i am.

i think you should start with another project.

    regards

  • Thanks, actually I think with the voltage you were getting you did better than me I have built also a small vawt a few days ago using your meathod of cutting out pvc tube shown on instructablesdotcom and with 2 1/2 pipe I made 4 small small sections two 9 inches and 2 7 inches mounted on aluminum rods attached to the shaft and bearings from an ac small fan cooling motor. anyway, I want to add more scoops to it they don't spin fast enough for me it turns rather slow. It is mounted on a 7 foot up.

  • Then I want to do a little video clip of it.

  • I also want to try in the future making a sterling engine. People on you tube have done them they are neat.

  • Awsome, i cant wait to see your creation.

when i see it i will tell you why it is not spining as fast,

sterling enging is instesting and one day i will tincker with it.

    regards

  • nice I like how the lights go dim and bright with windspeed dont need the blinking kind lol how bout your savonius type? you were on build with that. mine is on standby the bearings I was using were not level no good want to get a car axle rotor hub.
