David Phelps had vocal chops and finally grew to put feeling. He is not only Mr. Grandstand anymore. However, Guy as so much emoting from the start of his career. And he is also vocally strong...in fact i used to notice him more than David when I was younger. I am a countertenor so I should have tuned to David's tenor naturally. But it was Guy back then that moved me to Christian music. Both are great in my book

Actually you are saved by faith in Jesus grace is God loving you even though you are a sinner and offering you a path to his son through the blood. As for works they come out of the heart filled with love that the master would give himself for you they are not a requirment of salvation the theif on the cross the sin filled man on his deathbed prove that.
If you believe your obedience has anything to do with your salvation, you cheapen what Christ did on the cross. He paid the full price and nothing you could ever do needs to be added to it. Read John 3:16, a verse many of us learned as small children, but so many refuse to believe.
Saved in and from this world by obeying God, but Jesus is the reason we are eternally saved (the grace of God is by Jesus dying for us, not by our works)

Guy Penrod has always been my favourite, I know Phelps gets a lot of the attention, but for my money Penrod has something very special and seems annointed by God in a very powerful way.

I have to comment after reading all this fighting...first, make sure you read ALL the verses before you quote something to "back" your position. The vs referenced in NO WAY said God hates long hair. Do you really think with the message Guy sends with his singing & witnessing that God is concerned with his hair? Just close your eyes & listen to the man sing. Not that I care about his hair, but I can hear the love of God in his voice & his conviction. You don't even have to see the look on his face! He gives me goose bumps! He truly lives his life for God and is a devoted husband & father. God gave him this beautiful voice and I'm sure God rejoices every time Guy opens his mouth!
Its interesting to see the conviction in some of these comments. Why fight truth? That's silly. Jesus said, "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life, nobody comes to the Father except through me." Salvation does not require a high IQ. If it did, would that really be fair? No, so stop overanalyizing it. If you are still confused, find a good pastor (I'd strongly recommend an Assembly of God pastor) BTW, Guy Penrod is a great singer.
Possible to NOT sin? You really believe that? Possible to try, yes, but to succeed? Never. Why? God made us flawed.

Point people to evidence that would (in their mind) lead people to make no other conclusion THEN to judge Guy. A deceiver. I think that Guy is a wonderful gospel singer. He sings with so much conviction & and passion. Concerning his long hair, read I Corinthians 11 in the Bible. You can't just take parts of the Bible to follow. To be a Christian, you have to follow the whole and complete Bible.
In my opinion, we are losing more than we are gaining. There are so many songs that have Guy's mark on them. I'm sure someone else will sing them, but it won't be the same. I read a comment from someone who said that Guy didn't sing about God, he sang TO God. Couldn't put it any better.

To those who don't know yet... Guy Penrod is now gone from the Vocal Band. It was announced Jan. 16th, 2009. He has decided to go solo with his ministry. Marshall Hall is also gone. This is super dissapointing. The Vocal band is losing two of the best singers in the business. God Bless both of them as they continue their ministry elsewhere.

Guy Penrod definitely has a wonderful voice. He has not gotten a lot of recognition, but he has a talent that people need to hear.

Guy Penrod has always been my favourite, I know Phelps gets a lot of the attention, but for my money Penrod has something very special and seems annointed by God in a very powerful way.
This is the most powerful video I have seen, very moving.

Hey Hoover, why have you deleted all the positive comments about Guy Penrod and how much we'll all miss him? I posted the info. for his 1st solo concert in response to folks questions at several clips and the info. never appeared. I am not ANTI anything when it comes to the GVB, former or present. my subscribers should know me better than that. Check the videos again, they should be there. I have to comment after reading all this fighting...first, make sure you read ALL the verses before you quote something to "back" your position. The vs referenced in NO WAY said God hates long hair. Besides this is why no one wants to be a Christian in America... all they see are people fighting over irrelevant, stupid things. Do you really think with the message Guy sends with his singing & witnessing that God is concerned with his hair? Just close your eyes & listen to the man sing. Not that I care about his hair, but I can hear the love of God in his voice & his conviction. You don't even have to see the look on his face! He gives me goose bumps! He truly lives his life for God and is a devoted husband & father. God gave him this beautiful voice and I'm sure God rejoices every time Guy opens his mouth!

Its interesting to see the conviction in some of these comments. Why fight truth? That's silly. Jesus said, "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life, nobody comes to the Father except through me." Salvation does not require a high IQ. If it did, would that really be fair? No, so stop overanalyizing it. If you are still confused, find a good pastor (I'd strongly recommend an Assembly of God pastor) BTW, Guy Penrod is a great singer.

Possible to NOT sin? You really believe that? Possible to try, yes, but to succeed? Never. Why? God made us flawed.
And I totally disagree with hockeynut. DadsGertie was not directly voicing judgement. It was indirect. Point people to evidence that would (in their mind) lead people to make no other conclusion THEN to judge Guy. A deceiver. Too weak to voice their intent, yet still unwilling to bite back their selfish need for justice. We should never want justice, lest it fall on us.

Most people also forget to read the rest of matthew chapter 7 , especially verse 5, Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brothers eye. Most people believe that they can't stop sinning but i say otherwise. Can you CHOOSE to not lie, steal, covet, lust? I dont want to know a God that judges someone for a choice made in one's youth (tatoos), or for the way they -look-. If time was reversed and Jesus came now, and then 2,000 years later the Jews went about all wearing skirts and tea towels on their heads... would -they- have received the same flack from shallow thinkers? If not for that, then perhaps their hygiene? You think you're so sure it's just and right - yet people just like you have committed some of the worst atrocities in history.

I think that Guy is a wonderful gospel singer. He sings with so much conviction & and passion. Concerning his long hair, read I Corinthians 11 in the Bible. You can't just take parts of the Bible to follow. To be a Christian, you have to follow the whole and complete Bible.

In my opinion, we are losing more than we are gaining. There are so many songs that have Guy's mark on them. I'm sure someone else will sing them, but it won't be the same. I read a comment from someone who said that Guy didn't sing about God, he sang TO God. Couldn't put it any better.

To those who don't know yet... Guy Penrod is now gone from the Vocal Band. It was announced Jan. 16th, 2009. He has decided to go solo with his ministry. Marshall Hall is also gone. This is super dissapointing. The Vocal band is losing two of the best singers in the business. God Bless both of them as they continue their ministry elsewhere.

yes,very powerful song & singer.Guy does wonderful job on all his projects.About his hair, I don't think it's anywhere in 10 commandments thou shalt not have long hair, men.God looks at heart & soul of believer or sinner.What about all the beer bellies, big rears (gluttony), piercings in various/weird places & tattoes (adorning the body), revealing clothing, drinking/smoking,politicians(lies),ect.? First off, according to 11th Chapter of Corinthians, Paul was relating this in the fact of how men at the church in Corinth had long hair, that it would closely resemble male prostitution, HOWEVER in some cultures it is considered masculine. continued on next post
