Fun story about my PS2 fat, I accidentally left it on for a week when I went on vacation and it broke. It was five years old and it had worked perfectly before them. I threw it out in the trash and some people in a truck came and took it, it was funny 'cause they thought they were getting a free PS2. I would have loved to see the look on their faces when they found out it couldn't read discs.

@edgebrazil10 Well, I don't care for the PSP but that's just me, I'm not really into portable systems unless they're made buy Nintendo for some reason. the PS2 is a great system with a lot of games and that's all that needs to be said really... regardless of what I say both are good.

I just got this same version of PS2 from my Brother. Its not connected yet and I'm very excited to purchase the games that Ive been dying to play for so long! I have a few questions. First off it didn't come with the manual. Does anyone by any chance know where or how I can DL the manual for the PS2 Slim console? Also I'm not sure if there are 2 items missing from the console or not. The power cord or the Euro AV connector plug? These weren't with the system when my brother gave it to me.

Just want to clarify for you both fat and slim ps2's are 128 bit systems. The only difference is the slimmer ones have a revised motherboard to cut down on weight and overall size.

Plus it would not make sense for them to be different because they have to be able to play the same games.

Hardware wise they are basically the same, they just made it more compact after the technology became cheaper and easier to change.

1. Of course all PS2 games work...its a PS2..lol

2. That's impossible to tell..Sometimes all systems freeze for whatever reason

3. That's not really a real question..only opinions can form an answer to it.

4. Shouldn't really matter witch version you get but seeing as the 9000X is slightly newer,that's the one you will get if you buy it new.(the 7000X is no longer sold in stores. But really,it doesn't matter,My 7000X runs fine.

the matrix infinity doesnt work on 90000 series so you should get the 70000 series, and if you want NO LAGS and NO freezes atall then you should get the fat ps2 (Try to run Shadow of colossus on the slim, it is slow as hell but on the Fat one, thanks to the nice cooling/fans on the PS2 to keep it running on the maximum power. Just get a Fat PS2 with FreeMCBoot instead of maxrix, less of a hassle and stuff ;)

well i yesterday i opened my ps2 to clean it out but i haven' paid attention and i touched it everywhere and when i closed it again and connected it to my tv and conencted the power to it i put disk in and it didn't work at all.i tried like 5 games so probably i'm gonna send it to fix it and if it can't be fixed i'll buy a new one.don't tell me to buy a ps3 so i don' waste my money on an older console.i do have a ps3 slim.it's only 6 or 6 and half month old so new:D

@Kuson2 Personally Wii was extremely promising when it came out! I had it first day of release, sold it a few months later for the PS3, bought a Wii last week and returned it today. The Wii ruined itself with its game line up and the fact they allow knock off sports games...
