I really want to get this game, I used to play EVE online but it got expensive so I was looking for another space game jsut like it, now I found one! I am used to a steep learning curve from eve so it shoudnt be too difficult to learn. I also think its cool how in this game you can build huge stations, make fleets you conrol, and build trade ships and tell them where to go. Its like a single player EVE where you control everything, not just your 1 ship. I am definately getting this.

i'm a complete nub to this universe and i was wondering how easy it is to pick up and how long it will take to get a grasp of the basic concepts of the game (making money, building ships, etc.) i like the idea of influencing every aspect of the game, but i'm wondering if i'll be overwhelmed...

@su57 Well, I bought it without even knowing anything at ALL about this game, (it was a steam sale, and I love space games).

I'm very addicted to it, and after playing it for about 6 hours, I understood the basics of trading (picked the trader start), and now after maybe 20 hours of playing, I understand the entire game.

It is still not easy playing sometimes, but for problems I always use their official forum.

The forum is a great help, use that, and you'll be fine.

@su57 Oh yeah, another thing; it does take a lot of time to really get yourself somewhere. Making money really can take a while, but after a while of playing you can let ships trade 'for you'.

They'll make less money than when you trade yourself (A.I. is never smarter than yourself) but you can concentrate on fighting more (which is much more fun imo).

It's a graphics hog with pug ugly ship design, monotone voice acting, music that puts you to sleep, economy the feels like its taking pro-grammatical short cuts. Lets see what else, dumb ai plows right through you causing everything to explode, no actual hud feels like you have camera strapped to the hull of your ship, boring story if there even is one, its clearly designed for sandbox face splash, besides the ships the universe is very dull.

for some quick cash trade space weed, kinda risky but pays off

ore is a good starter just make sure its close to a system that needs ore

In the general sense yes you buy goods low at their production facilities and sell them high at factories that need them. With the humble merchant choice you can trade energy cells-ore-silicone to start. Thats all local trading. It gets more and more advanced when you get a jump drive or start making your own facilities and factories.

You can trade space weed and space fuel early on too but they are illegal, they make good profit though.

Trading makes your trade rank go up (duh). If you or any ship you own buy or sell any ware, resource or weapon it will increase your trade rank. It may take some time, but trust me - it'll go up.

not sure, its a lot different to the station at the end of X3R, maybe it wasnt finished when they made this trailer, or they removed it to avoid putting blatent spoilers in one of there trailers

I couldn't even get UC to start. It installed fine and I easily surpassed the requierments. It would go all the way into the Main Menu and then it wouldn't do anything :P

Yeah, I remember starting playing X3: Reunion - it just put me in the cockpit, threw me in a fight and I had a lot of long messages on my screen :))

Uninstalled it right away. I'm thinking of getting X3: Terran Conflict - I now have a joystick to play with :)

Get it, I played reunion for a few hours, went "FUCK THIS SHIT" and uninstalled it.

Then I installed Terran conflict ( i had the gold edition) and there is an actual, if basic, tutorial. everything is explained much better and the mission guide makes like SO much easier.
