I've been a KoF fan since 97 don't get me wrong I've always liked SF but I always felt like SNK put more work into their fighters the quality of their sprites changed almost every year and they came with new moves or different animations for them it was like you could see the progress of the fighters every year while CAP was notorious for sprite rips.

I hope this game has a solid online and everyone appreciates this game especially fans of the franchise SNK deserves our money on this one.

@jowrab Depends on how many sprites you make and how you do it. With its average framecount and color count, BB probably took about as much as SFIV, if not less; the sheer amount of coloring in KOFXII sprites takes months.

I don't play this game AT ALL, but I must say that it looks pretty badass, and i like the fact that the projectiles can't really be spammed like in the SF series. I think the design is pretty pimp too. Going all CG with everything isn't really necessary, but that seems to be what everyone else does. Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Caliber, MvC3, Virtua Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc etc. So kudos to these guys for not going that route.

That King palette he used looked pretty classy and the Oswald and Choi renditions that are floating around are getting me hyped for sequels already. Imagine the palette options Ozzy would have with that suit, shit!

@ArcadeInfinity first of all, just to reiterate, I'm only speaking to kof's artistic design. At no point did I state that kof wasn't a serious fighting game. In fact I feel the opposite, which is why I hold the series in high enough regard to project expectations on it. Furthermore, being Japanese developed doesn't mean the game can't have a more serious tone. Japan isn't filled with schoolgirl obsessed teenagers. They're more than capable of producing serious art.

@kiyoskedante I'm not bashing anime or anime fanboys but I think many would agree that kof is one of the most serious fighting games around. The design of the female cast is anything but. It's obvious that kof's artistic design is heavily influenced by Anime and I find it inspiring. I just think the female cast is too tounge in cheek for a serious fighting game. I don't think it's too much to ask for the entirety of the cast to at least be adults. This is an mma fighting tournament afterall.

Really KoF isn't all that serious either, as you have always had your tongue and cheek characters, many of them being male. Many might agree it's a "serious" fighting game but I think many would be mistaken.

Your serious fighting games are generally your Tekkens ands Virtua Fighters.

@spriggangt When I refer to kof being a serious fighting game I mean to address the respect and skill the game gets, not the visual aspect of it. The game is a serious fighting game with or without silly characters.

My issue with the female design isn't necessarily that some of the characters are young, but that their look, dress, fighting stance, whatever, doesn't fit the feel of the game.

Like King or Mature for example, but I guess the super deformation is to making them look more "cute" or young, even though it has a tendency to stand out.

@Mason1729 Alot of the characters are tongue in cheek, but alot of them are pretty serious too. This game has a really great and varied cast. One of my favorite things about it is how many different body types there are. For instance, Clark, Goro and Raiden are all big wrestlers, but they're built very differently. Ralf and Clark are all roided up, Goro is broad and lanky (and might have a slight pituitary imbalance) and Raiden is just a big dude all around.

If you want a fighting game with a really great cast of original female fighters who actually look like they can fight, check out Street Fighter III. Makoto is probably my favorite female video game character ever. Her moves are based off of the legendary martial artist, Mas "the God Hand" Oyama, founder of Kyokushin Karate, and the way she animates when she attacks is extremely authentic.

I mean common:Valkenhayn R "Hellsing", Rachael "Alucard".both names are from Hellsing. and those are just name man.All those units names like tsukuyomi,ametarasu,kusanagi. all which are Itachis eye abilities
