Just because this is a great movie doesn't mean you have to bash BBB. It's not the story, it's the execution. This had a new and better story, but both films are well-made and very grounded in Indian life unlike most Bollywood movies these days. If you want to bash typical Bollywood fare there are millions of crappy ones out there to choose from.

The only reason I brought up BBB because it was released in the same year as Udaan and got enough recognition in Bollywood. On the other hand Udaan will stay forever ! It has gained enough recognition outside of Bollywood, like featuring in Canes Film Festival and Film Forward (Part of Sundance Film Festival)

i wonder why many think its about the education system only. this movie is primarily about 'child abuse/domestic violence.' the little boy lands up in the hospital unconscious and and with slashes on his back but the hospital doesn't care either. the older son is beaten regularly as well.

Its regarding the concept of the film .. this was the most misguiding film i came across in my entire life. Child mature enough to understand everything wants to full-fill his dream stepping on his fathers shoulder. Was in a good school but lost it coz of his mistake. Father plans to send son to London for further studies but than he has to compromise on that and many other things. do u rlly think tht the kid would had ran faster if at all his dad would not had forced him for mrng exercise??
