This is my favorite episode of kitchen nightmares and every time i watch it i desperately hope rachel will all the sudden get a shot of ambition and make it a success.
I've never seen an original Kitchen Nightmares, only the US version. I really like this version -- more focus on food. I was a little caught off guard by actual swearing (no BEEPS lol), but all in all, I love this show!
Hey, Gordan, don't insult pigs. They do not lay around in shit. They are actually really clean because they are the only animals that will pick a spot that's the bathroom and it's the only stop they will use. My grandfather was a swine farmer so I know this.
What's the point of opening a vegetarian restaurant... have a decent vegetarian menu alongside a normal (yeah I went there) one and maybe the business can work
@aznmafia77 - I know, right? I love watching Ramsay, KN, Hell's K, whatever, but that spitting and throwing up thing is starting to kinda get on my nerves.
I mean, he spits things out constantly. It's like, come on dude, just chew and swallow one time even if it doesn't taste perfect.
I mean, when was the last time you actually spit out your food because the taste displeased you? I can't remember ever doing it, really.
@aces552 I think it's a common thing when chiefs taste test stuff. We have a show like this in Denmark where the host is much calmer. He doesn't yell or swear but he does the samething when sampling the food the first time.
@aces552 I have a few times because it tasted off and i didn't want to get food poisoning. I'm sure that's what's going through his mind too, i remember on one of his episodes he said somthing along the lines of "please god don't let me get food poisoning for the fifth time this year"
What a waste of a good chef and a potentially great restaurant. LOL @ the article. I would love to own a restaurant and have my family invest and back it up. What a damn waste...
wow. this girl, rachel has her father get her a restaurant, and in the end, she just gives it up! i would LOVE to have my own restaurant! it's one of the few dreams i have!! she's just so ungrateful >:(
@carlg121 Go to 'the sun dot co dot uk' and type 'Gordon-Ramsay-cook-becomes-200-a-night-hooker' in the search box.
Provided in the public interest - Gordon Ramsay is a genius, but he can't be responsible for what happens after he leaves. On top of which, if you extrapolate from the episode, and the Sun article, there's the sniff of a possibility that Rachel was planning to get out of the trade all along, and just needed a springboard...
problem 1: she smokes, that means she has no taste buds left to discern good food.problem 2: her father should have fired her, her snobby friend, and the nutty chef. start a new cause the location is great with many tourists, no need for repeat customers.
what a big difference!!, between KN US and UK, The first, everything is edited, : the UK seems to be living in the moment. do not misunderstand me, the cheff Ramsay is amazing wherever he stand.be- i see .the difference is viewers
It's amazing to see Gordon running a small kitchen by himself. He should do a show just doing that!!! :) I love that guy, he gave me back my passion for food and cooking. I can't imagine now my kitchen without his cookbooks in it! And I haven't seen very often such a successful person who keeps his feet on the ground and his heart in the right place. So, yeah, people can diss him as much as they want, he's admirable. :))
People can diss him what they want, but Chef Ramsay is admirable: talented, down to earth, and has a big heart. You'd think all the success would make him cocky, and he might seem to be to some, but it's that humble quality to what he does. Kudos for Chef Ramsay
@ccutehoney yes it is true,in the newspaper "The Sun" its says that after Kitchen Nightmares the restaurant was closed and she turned into a £200-a-night hooker.and she even critisized Gordon saying that he did nothing for her
@Longoop - It's at the end of the Episode, at 46:40. Gordon takes her back to London and employes her as an apprentice at his Restaurant "Boxwood", working with 18 other chefs.
Do you mean, where is she now? I would bet she still works for Ramsay somwhere. He called her a "gem" more than once.
@aces552 Somewhere I've read that she is no longer Ramsay's employee. She complained about stress and harsh environment in Boxwood and after that period I think she worked in some women-run restaurant in Northern England, I suppose...? Maybe Edinburgh...
Wonder if that lunch time would be that succesfull if it wasn't Gordon showing his face. The menu was simple and im sure there was plenty of other nice options just around the corner. People went just because it was him, and they were clever - as far i know there's only one guy who didn't want to taste Gordon's food, one head chef from US Nightmares. Anyways, his effort to wake up Rachel shows why this guy is so succesfull.
Gordon was right. Rachel didn't have it together enough to keep the business working. It closed within 6 weeks of him leaving. I guess she didn't have to worry as it was Daddy's money anyway.
@shockraid1 - I think you are right, and I think on uppers, not downers, since she seems alert, doesn't slur words, no sign of droopiness, etc. She moves quick, etc. So yeah, not sure what, but an upper that allows her to still run around, function, get things done, almost seem normal, etc.
@aces552 idk mate, in which case her dad should check her into rehab, but honeslty I think she is just an immature irresponsible c***, I used to be like her, but not anymore :)
I like to see how this noble/famous/best ever/ultra-mega-hyper chef surrenders himself to a simple sandwich...
Also that smile after the first bite tells me that there are some things on this planet that he likes. He must have had sweet memories regarding this simple sandwich. Good to see he is a human too. :)
@andreasegde - I know. He went outside with a sign, shouted about coming to get a tourist lunch, went back to the Restaurant, cooked the tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches himself, and served everyone.
India deserves to succeed. The girl's got good signs on her, hope she goes all the way. Rachel deserved to fail. An immature, self-centred, lazy, gutless cow who, I suspect, is also a drug addict. She certainly looked and behaved like one.

I don't think he's that famous in France, as he's not in Italy... people watch him if they have Sky or things like that, but not everybody knows him.
