do you think there was few messengers from the time after Caliph Uthman right before the computer age? when u're quoting Surah 7:35, do u mean the messengers 'in our time' is specifically the 21st century ONLY?
when we consider the Quran, Allah is clearly saying that He is always sending Messengers and guiding teachers. however, God specifically says that He never destroys any community without sending Warners first and that all communities that will recieve destruction, or atleast retribution before the day of Judgment. Surah 17:58, 28:59
because the entire Earth is about to recieve Judgment soon, Surah 7:35 is particularly speaking of our time, but not neccesarily exclusively.
scriptures are often used (in all jew-based religions) to justify woman as someone with less rights than men. I`d remark things like the ones exposed in this vid (woman as messengers of God) more than the parts when Koran teaches you how can you hit "your" woman, or the parts about Eve -in the bible- giving the apple to Adan or Paul the apostle (what a machist!). Religion has often been used to spread machism, and women have "religious" reasons for living a life with less rights. Luv women!
actually, Surah 4:34, the infamous "hit your wife" Scripture, was deliberately mistranslated. it actually says "let her go" as a last resort...not hit her.
a youtuber named spiritualrebel has a video explaining this. if you put her username in the search, it is currently about the 10th video down. :)
@WhereIsTruth aah great! a muslim in the thetruthisfromgod channel told me that women are like children and if you hit your child when he does wrong... some muslims believe in the bad translation!! I love your answer is really wise. I used to watch the arrivals from noreagaaa and I liked his view of tolerance between religions (he is a muslim) I must say I want tolerance but between all people, no matter race, beliefs, sex, etc. Women are a bless, if we respect them we change the world! thanks!
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, May I point it out to you, there is a HUGE difference between a messenger and a prophet (Who are also messengers). But what is the only difference?? Ruhul-Qudus. ( ANGELS). Allah chooses anyone he wills to deliver his message. AND the person who recieves this message through this Angel is the one known as a prophet. Moreover, a messenger, is the one who carries out the duty to spread the revelation that already exists by the prophets!!! Alright??
well, Messengers are able to deliver information that other Messengers haven't told them...it is God who is helping them understand the Scriptures...while Witnesses don't really explain new things...but openly testify to the truthfulness of the Messengers and the Message.
God is the One who knows best who His Messengers are, and who His Witnesses are, and who His servants are...and He loves them all.
Quran 25:20 - "We never sent before thee any messengers but lo! they (=masculine plural pronoun) verily ate food and walked in the markets.." - Last I checked Mary wasn't masculine & angels didn't eat food and go shopping in markets; I haven't given it much thot, but I think 'msnger' in those verses is used more in a literal sense (again I don't really know); by definition a msnger brings new knowledge (usually a book) and a prophet spreads & revives it - thus by default a msnger is a prophet.
God uses masculine terms in both the Bible and Quran to describe people of either sex. this is explained in Part 53, and it's comments.
and no, a Messenger does not have to bring a book. in fact, there is a verse in the Quran that says the disbelievers demand that you bring them a book...or demand that you produce a mircle...or demand that you show them the angels. God is the one who is in full control of all things. it is only He that gives any Signs that He chooses.
okay u have me on the masculine thing, but I still have u on the angel argument - and I did say 'usually' a book - But messengers do bring new revelations and they confirm wut the prophets possess - 42:51 and 3:81 - Mary does not fulfill these requirements, so I still believe the term 'messenger' was used more in a literal sense in those verses.
not all Messengers bring new revelations. John the so called Baptist did not bring new revelations but Jesus himself called John a Messenger. the Scriptures regarding that are already quoted in these comments.
also Mary did confirm the Prophets. she gave birth the the Messiah in fulfillment of prophesy. besides, Allah Himself calls her a Messenger.
well, the verses u showed tell that angels are msngers, and verse 25:20 shows that an angel isnt a msnger, so its obvious that there's more than 1 definition of a msnger in the Quran. The first is someone bearing a msg from God, the second is a person bearing prophetic revelations - 42:51. If God refers to Mary as a 'msnger' yet she bears no prophetic revelation, then she is of the first kind of 'msnger', and her 'msg' would be the baby Jesus that she is delivering to the pple. /wassalaam
but wut ur playing is a game of semantics - its msngers of the second kind that are always prophets and Muhammad was the last of - msngers of the first kind dont matter.
Muhammad is the last Prophet, not the last Messenger. you only think that because that is what you have been conditioned to believe. it cannot be true because Allah clearly says that He is coming with future retribution at Surah 17:58, and that He never punishes without first sending a Messenger at Surah 17:15 also 28:59.
your belief in no more Messengers is an unscriptural teaching of Islam.
however, you can continue to believe whatever you do...i am not you guardian.
Prophet Muhammad was the last prophet & not the last messenger. Peace upon him.
Brother manic once asked me, why messengers are only sent during those yrs which are during prophet Muhammad's time. Why messengers are not sent during our lifetime now.
GOD IS SO MERCIFUL THAT HE IS SENDING MESSENGERS NOW! TO EXPLAIN THE EXISTING SCRIPTURE.
So I believe ppl out there who are just wanting to mock & debate. Pls understand carefully abt what brother manic & sis becca's message.
28:59 Nor was thy Lord the one to destroy a population until He had sent to its Center a messenger, rehearsing to them Our Signs: nor are We going to destroy a population except when its members practise iniquity
Surah 28:59 is showing that Allah never destroys a community without sending Messengers. note the future tense where Allah says..."nor are We going to..." (going to is future tense.)
then in Surah 17:58 Allah clearly shows that He indeed going to destroy future communities...or at least punish with a dreadful penalty.
therefore, since Allah never brings destruction without sending Messengers as Warners first. and He is indeed destroying future communites. there Has to be Messengers.

do women have a life mission of being baby makers, housewife and slaves for their husbands to abuse for islam. that sounds interesting when the the koran says all are equals.
the Quran does say men and women are equal. not everyone who claims to follow the Quran, actually does.
also, to be fair...although there is a lot of abuse of women in Islam (FGM, child brides, beatings, burka forcings etc)...there are also a lot of good Muslims who are good who do not do such things.
another problem is a lot of women just accept this as their fate..they don't say anything or organize, of course theres a percentage that do..but their in few numbers...I've seen many women try to justify how there treated so if noone is going to stand up the men of course will just abuse power and power till something happens

The use of word by God is specific and they cannot be used interchangeably. Prophet, Messenger, Servant, Witness have distinct meanings. A Prophet is always a messenger, servant and witness as well. However a messenger is not always a Prophet but is always a servant and witness. A servant is not always a messenger or Prophet. Peace.

but Mary was not a Prophet and that is why God says "O you Messengers" in Surah 23:51
a Prophet is a Messenger...but a Messenger is not always a Prophet. you can use Messenger to describe many servants of God, but only some of them are Prophets.
place which is high, a flag in high place for people to use as marker
so as you see first god elevate a man to high pure state to guide the people while he is in this state he will be called prophet of god and if he(god) send a message to him other than the one came before him then and only then will he be called messenger

here is another Scripture that shows that Messengers are not always Prophets:
"We did not send before you any Messenger, nor a Prophet, without having the Devil interfere in his wishes..."

linguistically speaking the word Prophet mean
place which is high, a flag in high place for people to use as marker
so as you see first god elevate a man to high pure state to guide the people while he is in this state he will be called prophet of god and if he(god) send a message to him other than the one came before him then and only then will he be called messenger

no a Prophet is someone who is given prophecy...a Messenger is one who delivers a message. someone who is delivering God's Message is God's Messenger.

[23:50] We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and we gave them refuge on a mesa with food and drink.
[23:51] O you messengers, eat from the good provisions, and work righteousness. I am fully aware of everything you do.
