I did 20 + years in Gojyu ru karate and it doesn't even matter because the first day on training in our dojo (training hall) we are taught to keep our guard up, gaurd the midline, protect all 137 vital points.
Gentlemen, try to educate yourselves about the aspects of both martial sport and martial art, then try to educate yourselves about the aspects of Korean MA that apply to both. That should take about 20 years (which I presume is a little more than your time on earth)
WTF is this dancing shit. Either of these girls would be owned by a moderately experienced street fighter. Point sparring leads to wannabe martial artists thinking they are tough shit and then getting hammered when they find out a spinning back kick only works in practice.
I can't speak for those in the video, but I train in both sport TKD and more traditional TKD. Most sport TKD techniques are not used outside of sport TKD, but try taking one of the spinning back kicks (striking with the heel) to the knee.
sinister is right..theres a HUGE margin between sport and street in TKD training just for example..in sport there are about only 4 basic targets..head (not counting the parts of the head), front chest, sides and the back where the kidneys are..
in street there are over 30 vital points to strike..just to name a few (side of knees, around the neck, collar bone, joints, and the hands are widely used in TKD just not in the sport here's a thing to try imthegr8st go to the nearest TKD school and challege the instructor and tell him he can't use his legs see wut happens : )
lol what is this? locals? that girl in the red who only did right leg round houses is dumb lol, her opponent is even dumber for not realizing that shit, if she was fighting some one smart she would have had a good back kick to her face. BAM!
Yeah well, lol, her oppoenent was fighting injured and the backick would have sent her to medical. Besides, 4 pts in 10 secs, victory in <60 was sufficient. Takes a lot of maturity to only do what's neccessary to succeed injured (lol that).
Wow! nice game congratulations to UC Davis
