@Enforcer655 German is an awesome language, very easy to learn as a second language because everything is structured and follows rules with very few exceptions. Yes, it's not as glittery as Italian but it's still awesome.

German is quite easy as far as vocabulary. Grammatics can become a difficult concept to pick up, however with practice, you understand it more and it makes sense. There's near perfect logic behind the grammar, it just takes a while to understand.

As far as hard of hearing, it may be difficult for someone like that, for German is generally spoken faster than most languages, but it can still be done, nothing should stop you :))

Yep, I speak dutch so when I hear German I understand most of it (simular vocabulary) but the grammar is quite a though nut to crack and using it in a conversation.

ahh, a niederländer :). German and Dutch are obviously really closely related (as you already know). I think it's easier for you to understand us, than for us to understand you, and I never quite understood why. I mean, I can hold a fairly long Dutch conversation, but there are times where i'm like "errrr"

but yeah, German grammar is extremely challenging, but I think people can get the hold of it if they put in the practice :)

As for being hard of hearing, I would say listen to plenty of spoken German to get used to how it sounds.
