This game still seems to have a bug with head shots. It doesn't always occur, just on some servers and not to do with bad ping or connection.

I could tell because sometimes, even though not using sniper perk, I could pop their itty bitty heads from close and afar. Then on another game it was like they were headbutting my bullets.

And I was always playing on Suicidal difficulty (when I don't get kicked by noobs claiming I'm crap level and see them all owned by the Patriarch at the end!)

Normally aiming for the neck, or the chin, would do a critical head shot.

The video is from 2009, scrake hitboxes used to be to the left of their head. If you fired at their actual head, the bow would do next to nothing. This video was actually a huge help back when I still played the early versions with this bug.

Also it's normal or hard, judging by how much money he recieves from kills.

Nah, if you're a high level sharpshooter you can - usually - kill a fleshpound with one or two headshots from the X-Bow (i don't remember if it was 1 or 2)

Some of the big bonuses on the crossbow:

Even without sharpshooter perks, it deals about 8x damage on a headshot.

The bolts always pierce, and don't seem to lose any damage on consecutive targets

You can retrieve bolts if you can reach them within a few seconds of impact (they'll be in the walls/floors, not the bodies)

Always costs 400 pounds.

crossbow is so over powered if your going sharpshooter don't pick either of the rifles just get dual hand cannons for early waves to pick of weaker ones like clots and gorefest then get crossbow next for things like sirens , bloats (if you can't get headshots with handcannons) scrake , that new one (cant remember the name the one that shoots fireballs) and fleshpound . but be warned if your trying to line up a head shot on fleshpound your teammates might enrage it out of fear fire.
