i've tried this on snake eater, not subsistance, i've tried 8 times and nothing, tried the other side of the bridge still nothing, i think its a subsistance glitch!
no , you can't do that in other parts of the game, you can do it in dolinovodno, cuz snake fall in that river in a cutscene, i tried do it in meeting with eva (gronyj grad)
The trick here isn't simply using fake death to cancel the death plane - it doesn't cancel anything, you'll actually end up not being able to revive at all. The trick is glitching Jack's fall so you don't touch it.
I don't see why that cutscene would be related at all. It takes a very short line of code to tell the game not to render the death plane during the scene.

Maybe it works because he is already walking (almost) into the river but he freezes time by selecting the menu/ fake death pill

@RoyBuurman888 No. Death pill only allows you to survive a fall that would otherwise be fatal. The real glitch is dodging the death plane.

@DemonReacher Most likely but I haven't found any othet yet.
Come to think of it, another good spot to try would be just before Groznyj Grad when you're on your way to meet EVA, with the choppers attacking you.
