  • He is adorable <3 I am a total bird lover! and is so loging till I move out on my own, then I will for sure buy a macaw or at least a bigger parrot, I have currently 5 lovely budgerigars. But I am still living with my parents and they wont allow me to buy another bird :P I love parrots <3

  • does your bird talk much?

  • My bird isn't camera shy, he just plain hates anything that isn't me.

  • hes cool. does it hurt when they bite?

  • hes soo friendly.. what age did you get him at and how comes he lets you touch and play around with him so much without biting.. did you have to train him.. im really interested in getting a macaw and i really need tips and advice.. Thanks

  • dont shake the head too much o.OOO at least he likes you

  • lol its like a dog

  • Wow i wish i could do that with my blue and gold but i would not have any fingers left. You treat him like I treat my cat. thats awsome. You must have rasied him from a baby.

  • In the background: FCC's having a hayday. :)

  • Tee hee

  • I love him he's adorable.

I have a goffins. Although he's a cuddler, he'd never let me play that rough! Macaws are so cute.

  • lol pecking at the camera.

  • awe he was like a little kid =D i want one!

  • What are Catalina's? B&G and Milityary? I am prolly WAY off!

  • i love this vid. your being a bit rough with him nin my opinion but he obviously loves it!

    Great vid

  • I guess the bird needs to enroll into ESL program.

  • he wants that camera haha.

  • my red-collared lorikeet loves to play like that! she rolls over (for a belly tickle) and nibbles my finger (so so so softly so that it doesn't even leave a indent) and talks . Beautiful bird!

  • He is a Catalina. Blue and Golds have the perfect temperment. They love to play and are cuddlers. Lorikeets are so beautiful Diego just turned 3 and is my baby. He's such a character and talks so much!

  • You have a beautiful parrot. Sincerely i want one two, but it's a kind of expensive for me.

  • @jdaurham Catalinas also seem to have a good personality based on the videos I've seen, and they are certainly beautiful especially when they have the black beak like Diego.

  • what sort of macaw is deigo. i'm thinking of getting a gold and blue one but diego is so pretty. I currently have a rainbow lorikeet who is georgous!!

  • hhhhhhhhhhhh

  • that reminds me of when i still had my macaw... *starts crying* but he died!!!!! D'X me miss him so so SO! MUCH!

  • Does he ever bite you really hard?

    I want a big bird

But i don't want it to get mad at me and y'know, take my finger off ):

I've always been nervous around big parrots

  • he really wants that camera!! LOL

  • and i through there is nothing to do with ´birds´..but thats actually better than dog:o)

  • diego is the best

  • Birds are so funny..and destructive! I've only had a cockatiel and parakeet though.

  • I agree with you. Zoey and Georgie (My macaw and african grey) love to play this way. Diego looks very happy and well cared for to me. :)

  • I know U

  • i am so excited i just baught my first catilina today. its my first bird. its still weaning though. BOO..

  • That's really cool! Be sure to visit him often so you can bond with him before you take him home. And I highly recommend that you read as much as you can before he comes home. I had no idea how to take care of this baby before I made my purchase. I bought about 10 books and read them several times before he finally came home for good. It's very time consuming but worth it! I look forward to his funny antics and new things he does and says! They're amazing! Congratuations!

  • 1:40 Diego's "I love you"! sooo cute!!!!

  • Awe... I Love Diego! You have a great relationship. I play with my macaw the exact same way & she also does the scary "roar". LMAO!

  • jeez whut are u wtching beep beep beep lol hes gonna learn from that XD

  • i wish my birds trusted me like that.

  • he is beautiful...

  • What a great parrot. He is sooo happy and enjoys that rough play without getting nervous. I'm still learning how to "be" with my Tobie. He's teaching me but I love to see what everyone elses relationship is like in the videos.

  • I am a new owner and still learn things about these creatures on a daily basis! I strongly encourage you to read several books before committing to this. Take inventory of your life and make sure this fits forever! It is very sad when these birds are abused, forgotten, or left unloved..It's a lifetime committment! But one that is worth the love!

  • I think that's good advice, but I couldnt find a rescue that had a Macaw at the time. I did purchase Diego from a store that treats all their birds like as their own. They give them lots of love and care. I am sure there are rescues all over. And it's true that the length of time these birds live, you can get one that has already past the terrible two's and puberty and all the rough behavior times?

  • Please please don't buy birds from breeders as babies while there are SO MANY beautiful birds who are rescued and NEED a good, long term, loving home. The Gabriel Foundation has many birds for adoption. These birds live 100 years and most people don't understand the commitment. These birds get passed from home to home and finally, depressed, feather plucked, end up in sanctuaries. PLEASE adopt, don't buy. Take a class before making a commitment.

  • I am interested in getting one is do you have any lead for me

  • how much are they as babies

  • babies are more just as expensive. it is just a matter of finding a breeder.

  • Diego, you crazy guy! That's cool you tell your Mom you love her!

  • hahaha he's biting on the lens on the camera lol

  • Awesome. He looks like he has a great personality. Macaws are so funny.

  • Lmao

I kinda jumped when he did the "raw!" xD

Bird voices scare me sometimes cuz they have a weird voice box lol.

And he got all up close to the camera and was just like "RAW!" all fast and what not haha.

But I love him, he's adorable. Ur lucky to have a bird with so much personality lol.

  • Wow, he's amazing! What breed of macaw is he?

  • He's a Catalina. 1/2 Blue & Gold & 1/2 Scarlet. He is beautiful and very loving! I think his personality is the best!

  • Ooh, I thought he looked different. :) What a pretty mix!

  • Diego is awesome! Awe... What a sweety.

  • Your macaw just can't leave ur camera alone

  • Oh wow, he is wonderful! My macaw is so laid back, she loves to play, but isn't nearly as animated. He speaks wonderfully!

  • Beautiful macaw! Do you have any other videos of him playing?

  • Not yet, but I will make some new ones.. He is very loveable and silly. He's just a year old. So we are entering the toddler years.

  • Well he definitely looks playful! I've wanted a macaw for the last few years, but I'm still in the researching stage right now!
