  • i have to right a report on this musical for music class omg and need bunch of paragraphs

  • One year later: What theatre was this performed in? The stage reminds me of Glendale Center Theatre (Glendale, CA) but I haven't seen that many others in the round to compare with. Please supply a little information about the theatre and cast. About 25 years ago I played Marcellus on an even smaller stage in dinner theatre. Meredith Willson attended. He wasn't thrilled. Must have been my fault!

  • @Largo64 This took place in a theater in So. Utah a few years ago. Unfortunately the building has since been torn down. I love your story about Meredith Wilson, haha. :)

  • what theater is this preformed in?

  • Yes, he does a fine job

  • Im harold hill in my schools musical im so nervous! I screwed up seventy six tromobones in front of people before, its so nervracking..i hope i dont screw up!

  • Only thing criticism i could find is he sounds really out of breath and slow but thats all i can think of, the rest was great :D

  • Excellent job, only criticism would be that the Harold Hill character is a little slow, he isn't tryin to catch the peoples mind up in a wirlwind of consequences. He ain't sellin it enough. But, He is MARVELOUS!!! The whole play is much better done than all the others Ive seen so far.

  • This Harold Hill is marvelous.

    So is the entire cast!

  • Great job. I'm curious... as Mayor Shinn would say, 'where's the band?' Seriously, I'm wondering where is the pit located for this show?

  • They're using pre-recorded music. I've worked with this theater before.

  • im jacey squires our shows in hmm abouy a week in a half

  • Pretty good ....but his timing is off quite a few times in the song.

  • I'm going to be Harold in our community production at the end of July. I must say, this guy did a great job!

  • :D I love the hats in this play!!!!!!!!!

  • Every time I watch this I swear he's saying "horse sex" instead of "horse sense." Not trying to be dirty, but that's what it sounds like to me...

  • I THINK THE WAY OUR HIGH SCHOOL DID IT WAS WAAAAAAAAAAAAY BETTER.

    no offense.

  • POST IT THEN !!!!! THIS IS GREAT!

  • i'm sorry! i can't i don't know where my sister put the dvd! i would seriously post the whole play. if i could find the fricken dvd!!! srry!!

  • this play is kool, my high school just started, i got the role of tommy djilas

  • You must be a good dancer to land the Tommy Djilas role. How did it go?

  • i just got in, too! i'm just a townsperson, but i'm fine with that.

  • I just made in to this musical as a Town's boy even though it's not a big role I'm super excited.

  • congrats!

  • ugh... is it just me or does this guy sound like Snagglepuss? What a ham!! Love the song, but this just isn't anywhere near where it should be.

  • Wow, great job! Harold steals the stage, just like he should! :]

  • compared to the pley my school did this is a winner.

  • this is pretty good wen we did it we had 3 circles goin around a spinnig pool table with harold and the little kids on it at the end it was awesome!

  • the BAND, or whatever is backing him up completely sucks! He doesn't save it by any means.

  • This is extremely good. I just played Harold Hill at my high school. I had such a hard time with this song, mainly because my music director said he would conduct it to how I did it and I learned it very fast and then he had no flexibility and barely worked on any of the music. He really pissed me off. It is on my profile. The video quality isn't as good as this though.

  • I'm currently being considered for Harold Hill in a community theater production of Music Man and I just wanted to say I took some inspiration for my Harold from yours. Thanks for the great performance example, I'm very impressed! I loved what you did with this song! Hopefully I'll get to play the professor too.

  • Thanks for the comments walkerbrad. It was important to me to clear my mind of Robert Preston (the original music man) and try to build Harold Hill from the ground up... even though I'm sure a lot of Preston snuck in. It is such a fun role, and I wish you the best on your audition!

  • I just found out today that I got Harold! I'll also try to remove all aspects of Preston and make him my own, but that probably prove difficult as you said.

  • Congrats!! Hey, if you end up filming it, let me know if you post it on youtube. I love to see others' interpretations.

  • wow he sucks at Harold Hill. sorry but i can't let it slide.

  • This was my favorite scene.

  • Maaaan the kid at my school talks waaay faster than this - too fast, I think. And he doesn't have such personality. This is just plain awesome!!!

  • nice job - check out "trouble in river city" posted by lelila

  • I love the music man, and i enjoyed this video greatly, although hill, you need to enunciate and project a bit more. But good job, none the less.

  • im studying it in music. its cool!

  • I've been to that theater before, It's not done at a school, just so you know. Those are proffessionals, too bad i didn't see that one there :(

  • Very nice job! My high school is going to put on this production in May. I'm getting lots of costumes ideas from your videos and I'm very impressed. Thanks a bunch!

  • I don't get the pool jargan.

  • This was pretty good. My school did it also this year. If I can get a copy of ours I'll put it up. This scene was done A LOT faster. But this wasn't bad.

  • I really enjoyed this! Energetic Harold Hill and chorus as well.

  • Thanks, I was fortunate enough to play Prof. Hill in this production. I loved this particular number, but they sure had me running all over the stage!
