To all the people saying it's "it's only a game" , that's a testament to the kind of game this is. It's supposed to inspire very, very real emotions and that's just what it does.

My problem isn't "harvest" vs "rescue", it's whether or not to kill the Big Daddies at all. Sometimes I just can't bring myself to do it.

The moral choices in this were kinda stupid- obviously harvesting= evil and saving= good. Bioshock 2 gave you some much more mature moral choices, sometimes you genuinely didn't know if you were doing good or evil...

its better to rescue them by this reason: each 3 little sister you harvest is 480 ADAM but if you rescue 3 little sister is 180+ a gift they gave you and the gift got some plasmids and Really good stuff and 200 ADAM so Harvest 3 Little sister:480 ADAM Rescue 3 Little sister: 440 ADAM+ some plasmids and cool stuff and you feel better for save them

i'm not too sure but i think he pulls out this 'slug' which is inside them and it contains the adam the little sisters collect. The slug also acts as a life support to the little sister so they die.

Saving them is better. Yu get lots of free shit in those Teddy Bears. The Plasmids are good too. The Hypnotize Big Daddy is the best. You can shoot and one and use that one the other and he will finish him off for you. Then, that one is almost dead so he is easy to finish off.

Bioshock's all about moral choices, even if it only has one significant one, and that's harvesting/saving the Sisters. Bioshock wouldn't be Bioshock without this essential element.
