  • I can't believe that moron 2pock has the nerve to call himself "machiavelli"...that fool isn't even near being in the same category as Niccolo.

  • Did any of you know how many words in "The Prince"?

  • I'm here because of Tupac <3

  • im here cause im reading the books called "The Prince" and "The Art Of War"

  • Can you recommend other books or dvds that presents Machiavelli in a modern perspective?

  • @floppykid

well, i'm here because i read books, i watch videos, and i play video games.

  • Thumbs up, if you are looking at that, because, you played Assasins Creed !!

  • Machiavelli is the one who wrote down the all state matter things, and opens all the worst parts of the human...Very close to the truth

  • @ZuunZuu There is another book on the the art of statecraft that originates from India. That book is known as Arthashastra by Chanakya from 370–283 BCE India. Max Weber, a 19th century German socialogist and political economist, compared it with Machiavelli's The Prince in 1920 and concluded that Machiavelli's methods on statecraft was amateurish and childplay. These two dfferent approaches on statecraft are debated by political scientists on the art of statecraft is done.

  • @MrLantean thanks for suggestion. Seems interesting for reading. Will read in near future.

  • @cdg2289 Me too

  • Rip TUPAC fully can see why Pac read up on this great man

  • I have been on this earth for 24 years... and i must say that Machiavelli had the greatest viewpoint of Human nature... He is 100 percent accurate on his viewpoint... The shit is crazy!!

  • Comment removed

  • It's strange his Discourses on Livy are not discussed. The Prince and the Discourses ought to be read as a single book. It seems to me that Machiavelli was a greater friend to a Republican form of government (and to the freedom it implies) than what The Prince, taken by itself, suggests.

  • @Apollo5600 He actually worked in the republican government until the Medici family took power again. It is widely believed that he wrote The Prince as a way to gain favor with Lorenzo de Medici because he was in his mid-forties at the time and needed a job. They didn't trust him because he had previously worked with the republic.

  • enzio asked bout you

  • I'm here because I read rather than play video games.

I guess I'm not in like company.

  • @floppykid

i play video games but school sent me here/

  • @floppykid haha, i actually came here from an assassin's creed video.

  • @floppykid I love videos games, but I'm also a avid reader.

  • @GottaBeTheShoes1

    *an avid.

  • @GottaBeTheShoes1

    Sorry, I had to.

  • @floppykid Lmao it was a mistake lol

  • @floppykid Hey at least a video game is indirectly increasing people'e awareness of history and if they start learning more because of being lulled by a game then its a great start.

  • @floppykid got that right bitch

  • @Doneer34

    What?

  • @Doneer34 assassins creed bro try it

  • LOL. We're studying this in a college class I took. And Assassin's Creed gives me the incentive or that interest to actually get through with this. HAHA.

  • i am here cause i read the prince

  • 2pac brought me here

  • @Adriangrosvenor pac brought me here too!

  • Cool – if you like the ’The Prince’ you should check out the animation 'the mind of a leader - Machiavelli':

  • Creeeeeed <33

  • ok if this book is real than ezio...could he be real and the assasin order o_o

  • @TheCodman111 nope assasins creed is fiction but most of the people on their are real.

  • any 2pac fan here???

  • I came here because of Wheatley.

  • I came here because of 2pac

  • @ExtruhKrizpee me too !!

  • @ExtruhKrizpee No shit. ;)

  • At 0:19 my first instinct was "easy jump" ;)

  • Doesn't surprise me that most don't understand what it means to live Machiavellian.

  • @kristijanadrian - You're sadly mistaken my friend. I do, however, wish you all the best in your future endeavors. "I think, to speak well of any man after he is dead....

  • Along with Michangelo, @rush_will, and Galileo, I'm proud to be a Renaissance man.

  • Check out' the mind of a leader animations - Machiavelli'. You will be surprised!

  • Jep not the same but really cool!

  • I hope this helps with my fucking politics exam..

  • That dude's got a mean lookin 'fro on his chin.

    I'm jealous.

  • How did the book come out in 1532 if Makhiavelli 1527>

  • @canuckleful this book was written in1513 and published in 1532.

  • @1000lionell Ah, okay. Thank you.

  • 0:38 illuminati ?

  • thumbs up if you came here because of reading machiavelli, but not because of 2pac or asassin creed :)

  • @MattChro it's kinda depressing that people don't actually take the time to read the literature, i'm glad we have something in common

  • @Hairychimz42 yea

  • Gary Hart!?! How old is this video!?!

  • Machiavelli was inspiratian for 2pac he actually read many things about him when he started he's rap career

  • Those, who came here because of Assassin's Creed and 2PAC, are dumbasses and shouldn't even study history.

  • i came here becoz of black and yellow gmix

  • And one of Machiavelli's most important lessons is it is better to be feared than loved. Very true. Think of Bush's war tactics- scaring the public into thinking that Iraq had WMDs. Realistically do you think if Iraq had WMDs the USA would go in that quickly, or was it more of a job left undone by Bush's dad? Anything on the news is somewhat irrelevant to real issues, or is served to put the public in fear, thus furthering a "prince's" agenda....

  • The world order is orchestrated by Machiavelli's writings perfectly. Think of Obama as "the prince". he's got enough protection around him legally and forcefully so no one can just assume his power, the media convinces the people and tells us what to think to further his agenda, and essentially the American Empire is able to influence anyone around the world, and the money keeps flowing to support their influence (Jews and Israel). When the news says we're at war, think of who the real enemy is.

  • I got project about his book prince on school and i dont understand shit :(

wish i could write about 2pac.

  • Heavy but fascinting. If you want to go deeper into the subject visit the modern leadership series - the mind of a leader Machiavelli.

  • Cynical but extremely smart guy! Check out the animated moderne intrepretaion of chapter 7 – the mind of a leader sereis Machiavelli.

  • Just read Machiavelli. Don't know what the big fuss is about. - Wheatley

  • this video is more than just 2 pac and assassins creed he was a philisophical gangsta ahha

  • Ah, so this is Machiavelli. The Assassin's Creed series is a credit to the medium and shows that video games have the potential to transcend the mindless shoot'emups and BMX simulators that dominate them.

  • 2:52 you will need a leader with the intelligence of Augustus, of Aristole, of Marcus Aurelius... why go confine yourself to the modern world? Let's go classical!!

  • My God that's an awful beard

  • @SerPinkKnight ME TOO DID U BEAT THE GAME

  • It's comical to me, knowing all the great minds that Machiavelli influenced and educated, to see Tupac as the most important topic. Don't get me wrong, Tupac is one of my favorite artist and we can't deny his abilities and effect on today's culture, but... I don't see anything wrong with the younger crowd making this hip and following Tupac. How Ali followed Martin, How Talleyrand was influenced by Bonaparte. No matter what the reason for following, reading will open their minds.

  • I like the idea that he tells people to do what you have to, to gain power and to stay there, but sadly, many people take this message to mean that you SHOULD do evil if given the choice, instead of trying to do things the right way.

What I gather from Machiavelli is that, if you must do evil, do it. If you don't have to do evil, don't. But never risk your plot.

He was a great man, even if everyone doesn't agree with his writing, in his personal life most of all. Thanks for uploading! 8D

  • This guy is probably one of the most controversial men in history. He's still making waves, even today. Was he a hero? Was he a villian? He said himself that morality doesn't matter in politics. I think he was just speaking matter-of-factly on how things really are in the political world he saw. Whether he's good or evil depended on what you took from reading his work, but to him, "good" or "evil" didn't matter.

  • @SUGanten I think he just told it the way it was and always will be.

  • 2pac !!!!!!!!! where r U

  • Ah, Niccolo Machiavelli. Because of Michael Scott and his book, "The Magician" I have really developed a liking for this man. I'm going to get 3 of his books for my brithday. (I strongly recommend Michael Scott for a new author to look into!!) Ah, Machiavelli... You are not forgotten.

  • 2PAC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tupac also read Sun Tzu, The art of war...Just lettin yall know, just incase you guys want to watch a youtube video on it, and be like "2Pac brought me here"

  • The devil always has had agents from generation to generation, Machiavelli was one of such. I assure the antichrist will claim the prince as one of his favorite books.

    God help us!

  • @elijah7k CREATIONIST!

  • @DrPlatypusStarcraft Absolutely!

  • @elijah7k are you insane or just full of shit? Machiavelli was around during one of the most turbulant times, he was merely giving his insight. calling him a message of satan is just retarded.

  • @Nelsonhojax15 Typical the devil's advocate always shows up.

The one who is retarded is you. Your brain is so small it should be flush down the toilet.

If you want to see the Prince from a phylosophical or political point of view, fine you can say it was done during turbulant times, the problem with you is that you lack depth to understand that what we do whether in action or word has consequences and they leave a mark in people's lives.

From a spiritual point of view the books lacks morals .

  • @elijah7k No, you're the retarded one. Being so blinded by your stupid religion that you can't see the greatness of philosophy. Machievelli wasn't a devil or anything like that. He was just a man who was honest about power. Keep your religion out of this and talk like a big boy.

  • @Jdude154 I can post my comments you megaa piece of shit have no right to tell me what to do.

Learn how to read first. I never said that Machievelli was the devil.YOU STUPID.

That is why I the saying there has always been stupid people in the world and stupidity has never been in short supply. You imbecil moron again you open your mouth without getting the point of what it's being said.

So now i guess you are getting into an argument with me because of my religion?

    You are a looser.

  • @elijah7k Wow, can't argue with that intelligently made point can I? You got me there bro. Why don't you go back to church now so the pastor can diddle your balls, kid?

  • @Jdude154 Stupid moron that is what you are.

You attack other people faiths based on the lies portrait in the media.

Read there is always two sides to the story. Fucking coward you like many just open you mouth to spit venom just like vipers do.

Read *Special Report* Los Angeles Attorney Declares Rampant Fraud,

Many Abuse Claims Against Catholic Priests are 'Entirely False'

    Bombshell.

    - January 2, 2011 -

    Google.

  • @Nelsonhojax15 Another 18 year old who is becoming an oxygen thief.

The world can do without you and your stupid way of thinking. Before you dare to loud the Machiavelli's The Prince you should know that he was known as the teacher of evil.

The world is bigger than you little 18 year old brain and don't tell people who know more than you things that you don't even understand.

You have a big mouth for an 18 year old. To say something smart you need to first stop wearing diapers.

  • My AP World History assignment

  • It's amazing how wanna-be criminals, really bright bulbs, look to a dead fool from the 1500's for advice. That's almost as fucking stupid as millions of Germans swallowing Aryan propaganda from a Semitic Arab. BARF! Follow Machiavelli, figuring you're one sly cucumber, and you will be PEALED! BARF!!!

  • A kid in my class said that to my professor and the funny thing is that Machiavelli never faked his death or anything like that, but a tone of people still today thinks he did (because of the tupac thing) but it's just a myth! Great book though--look up Tragedy and Hope by Carrol Quigley that book will blow your mind scared the shit outta me talks about how they are planning a new world order and a one world government! (this was the man who was Bill Clintons professor!)

    it's crazy look it up!

  • hey posing with a gun stuck in your waist dont say u bad,see most of you are program and dont even know it living in a matrix,i bet you dont say the soldiers and police have a glock are gansters, who gave them the authority to poses weapon. so if george lopez had a gun stuck in his boxers u would call him violent too lol so dumb.

i am 20 years old and i have been listening to tupac since 1996 from a lil boy so dont try to say shit about him

  • haha hell yea i am watching this based on tupac

  • The Prince was a satire. Machiavelli knew tyrants were hated and people would rebel against them. Why would he write a manual to become one? Because nothing is as it seems.

  • I came here because of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

    Don't Understand play the game.

  • @Jayli0 No thanks,i like killing stuff not learning.

  • @Jayli0 omg so did i!

  • @Jayli0 I LOST the damn game.

  • @Jayli0 thats cuz ur a fuckin retard. what the fufck is assassins creed faggot? learn some knowledge

  • @TASSOS502 lol u mad bro? Not makin sense.

  • @Dresden1065 Well looks like you have your mind locked on the subject. Well I guess I look highly of him because I have gone through alot of the stuff he has, or maybe he just has a awesome beat and lyrics lol.

  • im watching this because of Tupac

  • @Dresden1065 - under pressure (didn't mean to make a Vanilla Ice and Queen reference in the same post XD). But I'm 100% these things played a huge part in his behavior. And I'm sure its a bit easier to write a book filled with observations as opposed to actually set foot into the public view and "attempt"(key word) to change these things yourself. Maybe if Tupac had just written a book it would've helped a lot more. I respect your opinion as well. We obviously interpret things differently : )

  • 2pac is a nobody to be compared to Machiavelli. He read the Prince when he was in jail and assumed it as his personal name. So what? His influence sticks primarily to black people, but Machiavelli's influence stretches beyond all national borders and races.

2pac was a good rapper, but other than that his life was insignificant. Don't mention his name here.

  • @Dresden1065 why not, who gives a fuck if you mention his name. Thanks to 2Pac more people know about machiavelli. People are not sayin that Pac was better or something like dat. 2Pac looked up and was inspired by Niccolo Machiavelli, he made 2Pac mature and an activist etc. 2Pac has a part in this, so its all right to mention him. But in this case, Niccolo is our guy =)

  • @gurresimme I'm saying 2pac needed to stop flattering himself by mentioning Machiavelli. He was just a rapper, nothing more. Also, if it took 2pac to get people to know about Machiavelli then the masses are fucking idiots.

  • @Dresden1065 he got black people to think.. .)

  • @Dresden1065 For 1. 2pac's life was in fact VERY significant. He stopped gang violence in L.A. which no one had the courage to do. Brought many inspirational songs that will never be forgotten (Changes, Dear Mama, etc.) All while he was alive. Machiavelli made a brilliant observation while in jail himself and had no impact whatsoever on any community at the time. Although years later he was recognized for his great observations. 2pac is no Machiavelli, he is Tupac Shakur which I think is great.

  • @SkateboardMax26 Stopped gang violence in L.A? This is the same guy who made 'Hit em up' and posed in a photo with a Glock tucked in his waistband, while clutching a joint reinforcing the stereotype of the black man, right? Don't make me laugh. 2pac wasn't "great" in any sense.

You have your opinion and I respect that, but 2pac was a walking contradiction of the highest caliber. He was also a loud mouth braggart and that's why some crip shot him that night on the Vegas strip.

  • @Dresden1065 You are right, in retrospect he seemed a walking contradiction. But it wasn't as if he had the Blood & Crip peace picnic and then 3 hours later made hit'em up. If I've learned anything from The Prince and books inspired by, its that interpretation is extremely vital. I was never in his position of power, being forced by music executives to dress a certain way or act a certain way or else they'll pull a Vanilla Ice and yank it all from under you. So I can't even say how I would act -

  • @Dresden1065 You obviously no nothing about the man. If you did know you would see a visionary, not a common THUG. Listen to some of his other songs like "Do For Love" "Never Had A Friend Like Me" or "Keep Ya Head Up" These are the songs that show how pure his heart is, though his thought was corrupted from Suge,

  • @904xxiGhost I've heard all those songs and quite some years ago too. His heart was pure and his thoughts were corrupted as you said, but how does that make him any different from others, or from being the YES "common thug" he ended up being? Every killer used to be a sweet faced angel and every whore used to be daddy's little girl so don't give me that 'he was pure before he met Suge crap'. Who cares about what he was? All that matters is what he became.

Hell even Hitler was innocent once...

  • @Dresden1065 P.S. I'm not black so it goes to show he inspired MANY people from ALL around the world and it hasn't even been 2 decades. Two great men who need not be compared.

  • The game assasins creed has many messages and trust me guys, all of this 2pac makaveli thing has something to do with illuminati, which means enlightment something, search for illuminati. you will understand

  • @gurresimme Anyone who believes in the illuminati is an idiot. Anyone who gets their information from video games is an even bigger idiot.

  • i am italian and i've read the integral version of " il principe " , i think is a good book , but i didn't think the people around the world knew something about machiavelli

  • @234xy My friend, I've been to Italy, the most beautiful place I've ever seen on earth. I've also study Machiavelli for many years and my current profession is based his work. I teach people how to deal with workplace bullying. I would like to continue this discussion with you. Thank you

    Rick

  • @Ricklawrence search for illuminati, you will find many answers

  • can any1 sumerise this

  • Machiavell

  • Singapore is the proof that Machiavellism works.

  • @lamestguyintown I've heard Singapore is a great place to live, rich, clean, healthy and very happy population. Can you explain to me what Machiavellism is?

  • Dont comapre machiavelli to a dumb niggah.

  • @AggaPlace 2Pac is bomb. He was more than you will ever be.

  • helped me on an essay

  • His work was the "ruling for dummies" of his era. remember that italy was well divided and he wanted to unify it. The only way to do it was with a strong, smart (politically), ruthless if needed, ruler. Politics is about power, is who gets, what, and how. Morals stay in the religious realm. This is "Real Politik" like it or not, and every single successful and meaningful leader have used his teachings.

  • this guy will be in assassin's creed brotherhood.

  • one word Makaveli.

  • fuck u machiavelli for making me do homework u prick

  • @mastermike95 I am sure you wouldn´t had have to do any homework at all if Machiavelli hadn´t lived.

  • Well, Machiavelli may have had some influence on 2pac, but please: don´t blame Machiavelli for it (or even for 2pac´s music).

  • No, but u did.

  • i bet all ya'll watched this based on the influence of 2pac huh....lol

  • @RowlexEnterprise

nah they used his quotes in The Nicky barnes Documentary here on youtube and there were some epic quotes there man.

  • @RowlexEnterprise lmfao i kno i did but i started learning bout niccolo himself in my world history class also

  • @RowlexEnterprise damn right i did.

  • @RowlexEnterprise nopeee assasins creed ;p

  • @RowlexEnterprise I'm a history student writing a 5000 word dissertation and presentation on machiavelli.

  • @lookapigeon hehee, dont forget to mention 2Pac in the presentaion

  • @RowlexEnterprise No, It's for a Political Science class.

  • @RowlexEnterprise of corse why els would i watch it ??..lolz

  • @RowlexEnterprise HAHAHAHA

    Yeahh

  • @RowlexEnterprise - No i'v read the book years ago in university and i just wanted to see other people perspective on it and as for Tupac he was such a smart man for his age he was goin to bring blacks out of the slump they have been in for so long,

(thats why they killed him) ..I think he read this book when he was in prison or when he got out and changed his name to machiavelli (different spelling though) because when you rearange it it spells "I'm alive" right?

  • @RowlexEnterprise .. it's not because of Tupac .. some of us here study political science .. the one's who watched this because 2pac read "The Prince" are simply a bunch of idiots ..

  • @alexmirzac Does it matter how one finds knowledge?

  • @alexmirzac I truly hope you do not pursue any sort of career in government. Making such a negative assumption of the intelligence level of any group of people based on their curiosity and pursuit of further knowledge informs me that you could only further ruin our current political society.

  • @jupskids I argue my assumption on the group you mentioned above by the fact that they considered Tupac a ''cool guy'', because Tupac read "The Prince" then reading this book became a cool thing to do, so this group wanting to be cool started reading Machiavelli. This is what I think. My opinion is that you have found yourself on that group with a specific level of intelligence and you felt the need to defend yourself. Also your comment abition me futher on building a career in government.

  • @alexmirzac You've made yet another faulty assumption. I also fail to see the problem in seeking further information on a topic that has been touched on in popular culture... I would refer to that as research.

  • @RowlexEnterprise how did u know? :)

  • @RowlexEnterprise LOL... yeah xD

  • @RowlexEnterprise No.... I read "the prince" while in Prison. . and i admire Greek and Roman philosophy.

  • i have to do a project on this guy

  • What a shame for Europe. Your shinning moment was after a stupid Dark Age. And only by re-discovering the past.

And BTW, thanks the Islamic world for preserving Greek and Roman wisdom.

  • @Deadman1709 i agree with what you are saying but just in part.

i think you 're using the wrong words.

everything has a "dark age", we both know that islam is in "dark age" now.

did the colonial age affect your islamic world? i do not think so, all the rulers know that radical exploitation of people beliefs is a major factor that leads to revolution.

  • The other day i heard that Catholics are fanatics...if they see saints they immediatly worship them...sure they were important...but they are not God. I am a Catholic but a girl was telling me the difference between a Cristian and a Catholic...any opinions?

  • @stzebi don't correlate a stupid nigger with this wiseman

  • @matt41083 It infuriates me that ppl don't understand anything or havent read Machiavelli, and their only references is Tupac . BUT you are an ignorant racist by calling tupac a N#$@. The problem is with the american educational system, and unfortunately ppl don't know about "this wiseman" if it wasn't b/c he’s mentioned through the popular cultural references that tupac representsd.

  • @stzebi yea agree with ya man one of the smartest niggaz and person I know that also tried to enlighten the world..@matt41083 seems we still got ignorant niggers in the world I feel sorry for you..forgive them father for they know not what they do...the message might not come out nice but people only listen to controversy you just understood the wrong part of the message pac put out ..just realize nice niggaz finish last and the good die young and the ignorant for ever sleep..Killiuminate

  • @boomtomb All the people you mentioned were assasinated during the civil rights movement, you can't really compare to them to something which was more than likely a gang shooting in 1996.

  • Makaveli <3

  • they also completely ignore his Discourses on Livy.

  • I believe the Prince was written circa 1513 and not published till after his death in 1527 - quite hard to write it in 1532 when he would have been dead. ;P

  • Cool!!!This is like, REALLY educational!!WOOH!!!

    HUMANITIES ROCK!!!!

  • Tupac was rather Crap.

  • @Keyser201 you don't even know who he was

  • Heh, so many people care about tupac below the video about Machiavelli... this civilization is over.

  • Ha! Kid i like your tag name. Hillarious!!!

  • Not so sure. Some examples?

  • I knew it was coming: more Hitler bashing! Leave the Feuhrer alone.

  • @flattilre

I agree, its bullshit. if anyone was a leader it is the man who went from nothing, who was self educated, to becoming the single most powerful leader with incredible skills and drive for leadership. do they ever suggest he is intelligent? absolutely not, only that he is a tyrant.
