  • I have a rhodes suitcase but its sound dark than yours do you imagine why?

  • wow, that's a fantastic ,really unsurpassed vintage sound. SV1s and Nords are really far from this almost organic beast

  • what do you start to play at 24 secs into the vidoe?

  • yo - if you're interested I made this hip-hop beat with the vid soundcloud /experimentality/grasp-w-c-31-01-11-25

  • I gotta check out the going price for one

  • Has anyone tried to connect a Rhodes through an AXE FX ultra? I know it meant more for guitar, but I'm sure it would be unbelievable for the Rhodes as well.

  • What would be interesting is to take a Neve pre amp and eq and stuff it inside a Rhodes.

  • what a perfect rhodes sound... i can only dream of that :-)

  • my goodness! if only this video was longer

  • what pre-amp did you use for this rhodes? did you install a pre-amp to make the stereo tremolo effexct? what is it? i like that sound

  • @Bendrobert2005 The Rhodes SUITCASE piano comes with the preamp. The piano in the vid is a newer Mk1 with the Janus preamp...not to be confused with the older Mk 1 with the Peterson preamp. You can tell the difference; the Janus has slide faders for bass & treble and the Peterson has all concentric round knobs. The peramp has the stereo vibrato built in. You need either the piano bottom or the satellite speakers to have the stereo vibrato.

  • @Bendrobert2005 There are also a couple of companies that make a power unit so you can use the preamp and plug into a stereo sound system or two amps.

  • Hey hocce, seeing as you have a better ear, and probably better eye sight than me lol, could you work out the chords on epservice's clip "rhodes mkll with breakout 19""? Cheers!

  • Thanx hocce, you must have a better ear than me! Cheers bud!

  • sweet

  • looks like a mk l to me......best listen to this with headphones, tremolo is really warm......wish i could work out the chords from 0:25

  • Bm7, E7#9, Am7, D7 - Gmaj7, C7#9, Gmaj7, D7#9

  • What Rhodes Mark is? I, II, II or IV?

  • There's nothing like that sound and never in a million years will there be an instrument to top that sound

  • I love the Rhodes, but I'd have to say the Hammond Organ beats all.

  • best comment i've heard all day.!

  • FREAKING AWESOME

  • From 0:25 is awsome, mate of mine has worked out the bass, i just gotta keep watching and try to work out progression/chords etc, i can see a nice funky lick coming out of this one! Your playing kicks!

  • Cool....now I'm going to try to learn that one...it was hot!!!

  • I know i keep asking, i'd love the chords to your excellent acidy riffs, please could you put em in the comments. AS im thinking of getting a Rhodes again, i dunno which is best, i used to have a Mkll 73 suitcase shared with a friend, what d'ya think? Mkv way out of my price range.

  • Is there a longer clip? You play very well Bro'.

  • I'm lovin' it! The first part was crazy, the phasing of these keyboards, there is nothing like it on this planet.

  • The midrange isn't dialed in right. The dampers are kissing the tines.

  • lekker..:)

  • this is nuts! what the hell is that 2nd chord?!? Wow. incredible.

  • That would be a Fm9 with a B-flat added. Left hand F and Eb, right thumb on Ab & Bb, Eb-G-Bb triad on top.

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm just so amazed on how they make a piano sound like that!

  • I'm trying to date a suitcase just like that one. What are the first three digits of the serial number on that? The harp on mine is missing the week/year stamp.

  • nice
