Second Life has its pros and cons. Pros: Open world, lots of players, player made environment, player made entities and add-on's. Cons: Slow game play, laggy area (sim) crossings, and poorly rendered environment when settings are low.
It's a great game in my view, but you can't play it for long before getting annoyed with the glitchiness.
Second life is the buggiest thing I have ever played. My friend and I tried it when we were bored; we had a few laughs messing around with it and making fun of it (at one point I got an entire bridge stuck to my character's face and she was running around upside down, lol!)

@everyone who says secondlife is not what they expected. I've been playing since 09. There is a MAJOR difference between TEEN secondlife (13-17 years of age), and Main Grid. (a.k.a. MG. 18+). Main grid is so large, it's like a large city. Teengrid was(now shut down for financial purposes) more of a community. Everybody knew everybody. Like a big family.

I don't think it's my graphics card b/c I have 2943 MB of total avail. vid memory and 6GB ram on 64bit Vista and a 19" 1440x900 Gateway flatscreen. I can run Supreme Commander, BF2, BF2142 on decent display settings. I think it's the fact that SecondLife can't prioritize what's visually important PLUS the fact that I'm on Cumcast and they hate it when you actually use the internet service you pay for. So.

I am not a SL freak but to all those who have a problem playing the game:
1.Make sure you got at least 2-3 Gigabyte of Ram.
2.Don't even ATTEMPT to play this on a single Core processor (duh)
3.Get a decent video card (something along the lines of Nvidia Ge Force GT 240 will do) with minimum of 512 - 1 gig of memory)
4.Make sure you get at least 4-5 Mbps from you ISP. Now try it ... the game is NOT that demanding!!!

LMAO......... this was pretty funny.. its WAY off if you are talking about the real game called "Second Life" you can go to the website and see for Free. I have tried the other ones.. and after trying 3 of them I got so frustrated it wasnt even funny they are soooooo unbelievably BORING! Nothing compared to second life.. I wish this guy didnt use their name, he could get sued for that because its really defaming. Yes people meet from other countries and fall in love lol it happens! On SL a LOT!

It's about meeting people from all over the world. Do you realise that there is a difference also between your opinion and empirical facts? I don't take it personally in fact I like the satirical vids. It's the rude, childish comments by some of the you tube denizens I find annoying. People who watch vids about a game they despise, and then mock those who play it. People who insult the people who play show their ignorance of what's in SL. But I don't mind the satire - at least that shows intelligence ;-)
