I am a police officer and we use that exact kind of radios so do they pick up our frequency as it is a criminal offence to listen in without legal permission. If not could u explain how as they are fab radios and would by them if legal to own??
@fd961 Unless something has changed (at least where I'm from)... breaking encryption to listen in on communications is illegal is some places... Unencrypted radio traffic is open to anyone bothering to listen to it. If the traffic was intended to be private it wouldn't be sent over the air in the clear. If a public safety department is transmitting in the clear, your Chief Communications Officer should be canned.
@alen315 Civi's can't have access to this equipment. FACT.
These are ether DEFUNKED radios which would explain lack of aerial, or they are simply re cased PMR446 digital's which i have seen around. Although the screen's do look like the correct op system
in both cases if a force had a load of these stolen the first thing they would do would be to stun and then eventually kill the radios making them over sized paper weights (seriously it actually blanks the CMOS inside!) so they arn't stolen!
@alen315 WOAH BITCH CHILL DON'T SEND ME NO RUDE MESSAGE CAUSE i REALLY DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO FOLLOW UR STUPIDITY DUDE OK SO KEEP UR FUCKING MOUTH SHUT!!!!!! before SOMEONE STICK SOMETHING IN UR MOUTH OK ur very childish u know & I know ur happy proud but DAMN!!! GROW THE FUCK UP PUSSY ASS.
I did not make ANY claims as to spectrum efficiency. I corrected YOUR blatant lie about TETRA spectrum efficiency with solid, simple and easy to cross-reference FACT.
I am not a troll. I deal only in fact. You have made several assumptions and further more have lied. THAT is a prime characteristic of a troll. You are seeking some kind of "internet triumph". You will not succeed with me.
I dont have to leave you alone, but you could stop trolling on here, then you wouldn't hear from me.
i wouldnt piss on a tetra radio. they pulse at 17.6Hz, the same base rate the brain operates on, and have been linked to cancers accross Europe. They;re spectrally inefficient and overpriced junk. Stick with P25 or even Tetrapol.
@tafftastic Cell re usage is just the distribution of repeaters over a given area. It has NOTHING to do with your previous post about the brain having a "base rate" OR efficiency of frequency usage.
Ill keep saying this.. Im here because Im interested in the subject. But you appear ONLY to be looking for some kind of debate about RF safety.
The name for a person like you is "Troll". Google THAT.
@106QSDAVE So my response to your invalid claim relating to spectrum efficiency isn’t relevant? Hmmmm
It’s obvious why you're here as an amateur, while we professionals do what we do for a living, and as such tend to have a more holistic view thank the likes of yourself.
@106QSDAVE You’re wrong. Now tell me, a neurologist who specializes in neurological functionality, that you know better than me, as you appear to do with anyone who dares criticize Tetra in any way on here.
There are several good reason why we have banned Tetra from being used here in the US.
No I am NOT wrong. Cell re usage reading for you> google ee.stanford.edu/~jmk/pubs/chnl.reuse.pdf Its written by a gentleman who REALLY did study at Stanford! (unlike some)
I just LOVE to destroy tree hugging hippies that need a conspiracy theory as much as I need caffeine.
Tetra is not used, is because the USA have sunk BILLIONS into P25. Why would they change their working system after that kind of investment? It works... so why fix it?
@106QSDAVE You have no idea whatsoever what the FCC used as a basis for this decision to ban, that's right, ban, the use of Tetra. Despite the fact that Motorola champions the standard.
It was banned primarily because of its poor spectrum efficiency (others have tried and failed to educate you in relation to cell re-use) and there are concerns from several health officials in relation to the fact it pulses (unlike constant envelope modulated systems).
@106QSDAVE Now that's a really relevant document 'Channel Reuse Strategies for Indoor Infrared Wireless Communications'!!!! Fool.
The only distinct relationship between that doc and Tetra is the mention of TDMA. Do you even know what the modulation scheme of Tetra is, because it is not even mentioned in that doc. Pathetic attempt.
Still trolling, just go away as you're looking more and more stupid every time you post.
You bloody amateurs are worse than the tree huggers.
@tafftastic I know there are very few pictures to color in, but if you'd taken the time to scroll down to Pg8 , you would have found a VERY basic explanation of cell re usage. Whether its used for tetra, Ptarmigan or infrared, it is STILL cell re usage. "you need to get a basic understanding of cell re-use" is what you said... Well,,, I'd LOVE to stay up and argue kids.. but I have a job and so need to sleep at some point. Say hi to the other Trolls for me.
@venomfanex What makes you think that? And who, at ANY point suggested that I DID know? And did I suggest a method of working in any place OTHER than the "real world"?
Why would you find the fact that "somebody" (me) does not have every piece of knowledge about every subject funny?
Hi, What is the range for DMO? A few city blocks? Does it use one frequency each way or is it TDMA time division between radios? I was thinking about using these on USA license free FRS channels (462) Mhz.
@2wayfreq Its 1watt output and in practice about 300 metres in a built up area with lots of cars and what not about, but the police in the UK have gateway devices which are basically mobile trunking units fitted to cars with a 3watt output, though I'm not sure if that works in DMO yet, but I'm guessing you could acheive quite a distance if it was well positioned.
Do you have so many because the English police have decided to sell theres off due to the micro waves not being to good for your heath over a long time they are called RF burns I see some big law suits coming motor rollers way in shout bursts I see no problem but police have them close to them all day
it means that he got them from the manufacture tht made them and it was only for a display use but they r pretty good radios and the police in the uk use them
they r the best digital radios around i got a linton lt 3288 and thts good

@tafftastic The brain does not have a "base rate".
They have 4 data / voice channels in every 25 Khz, compared to 1 user per 25Khz on other systems. So actually, they are VERY "spectrally efficient"
Are you STILL trolling for responses on tetra vids? LOL! As I said in other vids... GET A HOBBY.
