this song is about how he cheated on her only to find she was only human too great song where have all the days gone please take me back to the 80.s beautifull girls wow
Look at that girls, lok at her face, they sing with their haert, a lot of pashion and sadness, they don't need their boobs & ass to show the artists they are, today the singers need that and a 99/100 are boobs & ass in plastic cirgury any class withe what women, the singer is the same a lot of emotion and wonderfull voice, today they needs a lot of music instruments to cover their voice when you can call that voices !!! the world is modern for things but Natural has sleeped away, so sad !!!
One of the great videos from the early VH1 days -- you know, when they played HOURS of these for us ?? It's a tale of great pain, told in a (wet, but) beautiful way. LOVE IT !!!
All yoou need to do to "unglue" from FB and Twitter is to unglue. Believe me - it's better that way. Use it occasionally. This is such a nice song to start listening to music and browsing around rather than just sticking to just one site. ;) Thank you for posting it, and thank you for not screwing it up with limiters and general ignorance about audio processing! :) Cheers!
For me this is one of the defining songs of the late 80's. Back before alternative radio, when rock stations like 97.1 The Eagle out of Dallas would play a good mix of songs. In a car, dusk Dallas skyline is when this song is best served.
Loved this song back in the day. Brings back alot of memories good and bad. We all make mistakes sometimes. This song sure tells that story of what we do when separated.
Ahh...senior year in high school and that hot girlfriend I had..and of course this song...peopel who didn't grow up in the 80's ..I feel sorry for you.
In regards to The Human League, it's tunes like this that pprove they weren't One Hit Wonders; They were a legitimate band from The UK. This ballad was heartfelt, and should NEVER be regarded as sappy. Try to believe that, folks.
@tmaq97 and it shall have it's turn again...every decade gets recycled once or twice. Just like the 50's was cool in the 80's, then the 70's and late 60's showed up in the 90's...next the 80's will come back in the new Millenium....
All this talk about how great the 80s were, you can find the same talk on any recent decade. if this were a pearl jam video or some euro dance people would be talking about how great the 90s were. The truth is we never appreciate the time we currently live in. Everything that was wonderful about the past is happening right now in another way. It's just a state of mind. The older a person gets the more they yearn for the past.
@Khyrid This is well said and absolutely true. I was born in 1960 and lived through the timeline(s) ... do the math! You think the 80's were great? You should have seen the 60's... and only Baby Boomers like like me, and quite possibly Khydrid, will ever know, it's a recall of memory lane that is a part of us and will live forever...Khyrid is right: "We never appreciate the time we are in." And... that is the way it's supposed to be...
@Khyrid I agree very strongly with your final sentence, however, with the music I think there is more to it than just the relativity of a decade with your teens. I believe that the advent of the synthesiser and its massive uptake in the 80's has greatly influenced the music that followed it. It allowed very melodic strings and horns arrangements into songs that would have previously been cost prohibitive. Young people of today are listening to songs like this and preferring it to todays music.
@Khyrid You are right! I guess that every generation will call their decade the best, simply because they made themselves and shaped their personality while hearing this music. So it brings you back to those incredible youth years.
It's great to have the chance of hear this songs again.
@sixstoriesfall so sticking to your thoughts aswell as to the time machine comment :))) we can only get drunk and remember times..that i'd only wish to remember cuz iam only 24 :(
I was born in 1987, one year after this song was released. I prefer this to Rihanna, who's currently plastered all in the background on the page of this video. This is music.
My eyes begin to shed tears and an relentless pain inside of me strikes me as if it was to tell me what a damn fool I am in making such idiot choices & decisions in my futile life, that the one person I could have had as my soulmate, I passed her up, stupidly thinking it would be best for her & noble to do so, resulting in a unending passage of regret, how important it would be for us to be together, yet, I choose to be an idiot. To err is to be human, for me, is to be at a loss, for life.
You people keep talking about 80s this and 80s that.. Without realizing that 95 percent of good 80s bands came from England. England has by far produced the worlds greatest Bands in the history of this planet.... Start asking England to bring back the 80s because every single band that I like and that everyone else likes is from England. They produce the best cars and the best music, and im an american. England is the greatest.
Now, I'm not denying the 80s had some great music/pop culture. But let's not forget it was also the era of overproduced hair metal, self-indulgent guitar solos; cheesy B-movies and endless sequels; "Where's the beef?" (that era's "I'm Rick James, bitch"); the PMRC; and of course, some terrible fashion trends (shoulder pads, big hair, neon spandex, mullets, oversized tops).
And then there's the serious stuff: crack cocaine, AIDS-fueled homophobia, Reaganomics, Iran-Contra, nuclear worries ...
@ralvarez15 Oh definitely. Every era has its good and its bad. We have to make sure we neither overlook the good nor forget the lessons learned from the bad.
Back when all music spoke of love and personal trails. Now a days these silly retards destroy good music by sampling.. Now a days care about nothing but bling bling and who they sleeping with tonight. ( When there ass end up with HIV they will think twice... LIL Wayne the main re re...)
@rmueller58 So sad, but so TRUE. Music of those days had Meaning, and Purpose to them. Now they don't, their just sounds with a beat, and filthy words. No meaning no purpose, no substance.. just nothing.
@progressive59 Man tell me about it. This song brings back great memories, and takes me back to being a kid. Ugh the good ole days! This song is still my jam, it's CLASSIC. Gotta love the 80's. Their was so much ORIGINALITY from artists during that time.

I wonder if there could be a parody of this song, sung from the Ferengi perspective.... Quark: "they're only hew-mon!" I'm just sayin'.

I long for the carefree 80s to come back and stay forever. Young people today don't know what they were missing.

@progressive59 Man tell me about it. This song brings back great memories, and takes me back to being a kid. Ugh the good ole days! This song is still my jam, it's CLASSIC. Gotta love the 80's. Their was so much ORIGINALITY from artists during that time.
