If you are referring to the Nikon 105mm lens, it's an old manual lens I got it for 150.00. You need a 37mm adapter ring from Letus to use the Letus Mini with the HC1.
Hi I'm brazilian and i want so much to buy the Ltus35 mini for use with my Sony HC7, but I don't know if my cam works with Letus and where i find the Letus to buy, can you help me? Thank you!
From reading forums there are a number of people using the mini without rails, they hold it all by the adapter. When I first got the mini I only had my Sony HC1 which is heavier than the average Handicam. I've since gotten a Canon hv20, which is about the same size as your Panasonic, and I can see how noe rails would be OK. I guess it depends on your shooting style.
I currently have 5 Nikon lenses, 50mm 1.4, 35mm 2.8, 35mm 2.0, 105mm 2.5 and a 200mm 4.0. Each one has a different look. The 50mm 1.8 is a fine lens. This clip was shot with my 105mm.
My HC1 has 37mm threads so I decided to get rails so the threads would not get damaged. I really like the Mini. It gets me that much closer to the film look I want. Still working with a Zer,ooo budget with my projects. The HV30 is coming soon I think I'm going to get one.
Converted original HDV file first to 24p on a 24p timeline then edited. One advantage doing this is the file is half the original size so you can use a higher compression rate. Then compressed final with QuickTime H.264, 768kbs, Optimized for streaming, Fast Start, letterboxed the HD stream. Original 16x9 HD cropped to 2.35:1 (Cinema-Scope)
That's a lot of work in the compression stage! lol, what did you use Final Cut Studioz, because my Imovie is okay for the compressing but i'm still learning in that area.. could use some lessons though..
how do you move the footage from camcorder to online?

TaroWalthr 2 years ago
Yes it works with a HC1. You need the 37mm mount from Letus. I used rails from Cavision.

You can find the Letus by doing a search for "Letus Direct". It mounts to the filter threads.

The Letus Mini very cool. Just have to make sure you zoom in far enough so it doesn't vingette.
PabstFilms 3 years ago
With the letus do you need a lens? If so what did you use? I'm thinking of building my own using a Nikon 50mm 1.8 manual focus lens.
