  • Sweet video...shitty operator guess if ur only stripping it does'nt matter but im only 17 and can cut and spread 10 times better than you with a way older machine make a video of you high ballin or somethin

  • @bachinski123 You must be a really good operator to be able to see what the cut looks like when you can't see it in the video. Or another arm chair operator that should probably keep their uneducated comments to themselves before they look like a fool.

  • whats the 51 like compared to a 57 is it worth havin a go on one

  • @101scrapes 57's have twin engines, and although iv never run the 57s scrapers are pretty fun to be on

  • I wonder why he dont use the trigger, it may be inoperable.

  • I'm tired of lifting crap.... Thinking of moving to the dirt side! not all dangerous and droppy... just dusty and pushy

  • MUITO LEGAL ESTA VIAGEM DENTRO DA CABINE

  • what is the red trigger thing for?

  • @redheadedduckhunter Floats the apron closed.

  • nice vid bro. the angle,s are really good , ive attached my 27G vid, not as good as your's but at least its something, enjoy...

  • Glad Im not that pusher driver, it'd be 3rd gear, flat out button up to remind him not to pump that box ;]

  • @KingWJC Am I missing something? The only time the bowl is adjusted is for minor corrections to keep the cut flat as the tractor on the scraper climbs over humps in the top soil. The rest of the time the middle (apron lever) is moved to keep the wet stripping from clumping up in the bowl. Watch the apron cylinder and crossmember, it barely moves at all!

  • @vantagetes Bet you're one of those operators that gets wound up easily. Pick the button up with the blade so he digs his box in futher, drop him down and watch him get cofused. :)

  • @KingWJC Nah doesn't bother me in the least, just wondering if you're watching the apron lever by mistake? Another favorite when you're pushing down hill is to drop into neutral and roll on the smoke so it looks like the cat is maxing out. Eventually they have their bowl right up in the air and they still aren't getting pushed =D

  • 1st of all the operator is stopping as the dozer backs around him ! no no number one ! also he is not using his apron to load the scraper ! 3rd he is up n down with the can that makes a rough ride 4 the dozer on his way back 2 pick up the next scraper ! I can keep going ?? this guy aint makin no money 4 this company !!!

  • @fllsmikeb 1st you drag in until the tires slip then wait. It's stripping loam so you can't skim in and tag on the fly or you'll have browns all over the place. 2nd you can see the apron adjust to the loading condition (wet top soil so open further to prevent clumping in the bowl). 3rd the only time the bowl moved (first lever) was when it was picked up after loading. Thanks for the armchair review though, keep watching.

  • @vantagetes Ah! it's so nice reading all the expert tips from the super operators around. I wonder why they never post any videos themselves.

Nice and interesting video from you. As are the rest of your videos. Nice to watch! Thanks! :)

  • @kkjelt It's ok I don't take him too serious, he/she is 25 and lives in the UK. Haven't seen too many scraper spreads in the UK, in fact I'm surprised he even knew what one was!

  • @vantagetes Ah, right. Good. I really enjoy watching videos of big machines. And I do it a lot. And in general these super- operators are everywhere, commenting every video, telling the uploader/ operator how it should be done/ how bad things are done. What they have in common, tho, is that they haven't uploaded one second of video, showing us how great they are, and how it really should be done. It's all in their mouth. Again, thanks for your videos.

  • theese guys totallt suck

  • @fllsmikeb How do you figure?

  • The 657E is tandem powered in Cat terms.Nice ride along

  • Mmmm Kidney Killers. :D

  • Nice footage man!!! Steady.

  • can you do a scraper walkaround

  • Already did a quick one on a 657, I'll have to dig it up and make sure it's half decent.

  • ok cool thanks

  • 651 is single engine, yes? 657 twin engine?

  • That is correct.

  • This operator needs to learn to "experiment" with his can. In the real world, you're suppose to out of a cut in 8 seconds. He goes into the cut with his 'crowd' in forward position.

  • Uh what? I just watched again to double check and the ejector is back at the start of the video (which is the cut portion). What's this about 8 seconds? To self load (a twin) is 60 seconds, to push load (pushcat) or push-pull (twins) is 30 seconds each.

  • you cant determine an adverage load time with scraper because all dirt is different and every cut is different. Not to mention that you have no way of knowing the condition of the equipment just by watching the video. What about the real world where ground gets frozen? Must be nice to work in the plus temperatures all the time.

  • i have never run a scraper before what do the controls do?

  • @reaper020 if u still didnt get an answer the the lever closest to the camera when loading controls the bowel, the one after controls the apron and the very back one is the ejector control

  • that looks like unit 277 at the barlow site. You used your apron lock after you closed your apron but not when you were travelling loaded, why? Ya that haul road to the loam pile was by far the worst I have ever seen, you got a ass chewin if you made your machine bounce all the way down there

  • What time in the video are you referencing? Do you mean after I dumped (4:00)?

  • ya the only time you used it

  • All the way away from you is actually float, so sometimes it will get forced up when you catch a bad rut with the bowl and you're loaded. After I dumped I locked it into float so I could watch ahead of me while it came down, then I opened it back up slightly so I could see the cutting edge.

  • i wish our company was as laid back as this. if the pedal isn't on the floor your in for an ass chewin.

  • You ever run a single engine scraper? The pedal was down the whole way =p (That haul road was soft and you just wallowed the whole way to the pile).

  • Nothing better than a loaded 51 or 57 tached out in the top cog. that rumble is felt miles away

  • sorry about your lack of a back engine dude!! hahaha cool video though. keep up the good work.

  • I found that when you pull the trigger on the bowl lift lever it will close the apran during the loading process so you don't have to use both levers.

  • Yeah minus the fact that the button doesn't work on most older scrapers =p

  • What did reach down and do at 1:48? Do scrapers have pedal that help steer? I notice that there are times you have both hands on the levers.

  • The cushion hitch lever is located by your knee. Since it allows free movement of the rear (and in turn the cutting edge) you want to drop it when cutting (and sometimes spreading). Once you are finished cutting it's a good idead to pick it up again for a smoother ride.

Steering is via the wheel only so if you're going to use two hands on the controls you should be quick about it! The new G series has all your controls in one lever so this problem is eliminated.

  • That seems to be Cat's new trend, joystick everything. Makes sense though.

  • when are the new vids coming??

  • Might be some 345 videos in the next couple weeks.

  • The D11 is the right size for this 651.The 651E is no longer made. Its interesting to see the operator work the levers inside the cab

  • A+++++ your good i wish i was as good as you on all the machine keep up the good work man

  • Another great video, I always wondered what is was like in the cab of a working scraper. A friend of mine let me drive his Vintage Euclid S-7, but not actually scraping, Thanks for posting another great video.

  • Fantastico his video, his films are fantastic, you have the video of d11R pushing the 651E if you could post to appreciate these two fine machines in work.

  • thanks for the info. now as you are moving the levers i have an idea as to what is happening, much appreciated

  • Great camera work, that goes for all of your videos. Keep them coming.

  • Cool video. If you have a sec could you explain the three control levers you were using. I think i have an idea as to what they do but maybe you could explain for us guys that don't get to play with this stuff

  • From front (closest) to back. The first lever is your bowl lever, controls up and down which is going to change how deep you are digging or spreading dirt. The red trigger is to drop the apron closed as you are digging but it doesn't work on most scrapers.

The middle lever is for your apron open/close. This prevents dirt from falling back out as you're digging, but you have to open enough to let the dirt in.

Back lever is to eject the dirt, the whole back slides forward pushing it out.

  • Very Nice......Looks like we have a winner.....but I think Burnout just put up a grader video!

  • Ugh. Someone has to convince Alex to turn his damn shitty music off while he's taking videos. I don't know how many times I've told him that =p

  • looks lie it was no fun.

  • nice, seems complex lol

  • Very cool video! How do you keep the camera so still?

  • you can get camera fittings that have suction pads on u can place them anywhere and they dont move then u just clip the camera in, i believe that is what he is doin here

  • I take that one step further. It's not even a dedicated camera mount, it's actually the suction cup dock for my satellite radio, I just electrical tape the camera to that haha.

  • Pretty cool! Do you have a video of the D11??? We don't see a D11 with a push blade everyday...

  • Not by itself =/ The closest video I have is when he backs up beside me in this one, and I have one short video of the cut from far away if you want me to put that up?

  • Yes, why not! It's a D11, every video of this monster is welcome!

  • awesome
