  • amazing shot of the 779 nkp. if i get to go to pennsylvania it will be strasburg, steamtown, and THIS!

  • @GoldenCreekValleyRR Thanks Nick! If you do ever make it to PA, start in steam town, then head west to the horseshoe curve, then make a stop in the burg to see this layout, heck hit me up and come see mine too! LOL Oh and another cool thing in around Pittsburgh is the Norfolk Southern's Conway yards. Do a google earth image search and see how huge that yard is! Thanks again my good friend!

  • @PghTrainFanatic Thanks, it's up on our Facebook page now. I love your story, thank you so much for sharing! It means so much to us to connect with families like yours and to hear such wonderful memories! It brings it all home, it's why we do what we do. FYI, You might be interested in seeing some of the photos we have posted over on facebook many are behind the scenes and progress shots of the models Forbes Field and Fallingwater under construction.

  • @PghTrainFanatic oops, I hit the post button more than once, I think I got it cleaned up :)

  • i spent so many Holidays both here and the Buhl Planetarium. A testimonial to the artists who created, and continue to create, this display.

  • @tritimmy glad to hear you have enjoyed this spectacular display as well! Its truely a piece of art, and I feel fortunate that its right here in my home town!

  • @pghtrainfanatic I'm glad you reminded me. It was at the B. Planetarium that I went to.

  • WOW!! this is awesome!

  • @tinpl8r I know its totally sick dude! So much history involved with it too!

  • This is an AMAZING place Nick! i really enjoyed the steel mill and how detailed it is! I live 10min away from bethlehem steel and it always amazes me how large the steel mill is and how many buildings there are (even though slowly the buildings are being torn down for really stupid crap like a Casino). thanks for sharing Nick!

  • @altoonaPArailfan Thanks Conner! I love this display, and its open year round! If you are ever in Pittsburgh you should go see it, and visit the science center which is pretty cool too! Bethlehem steel looks really cool, I've seen pictures f it before, and it kinda looks like my blast furnace!!!!! LOL Thanks again train friend!

  • Stellar Nick!! gotta get your daughter into it now!! see how in the yard it looks like fake switches- same thing that im gonna do with my HO layout. less oh-nos! once im done with finals its back to layout fun!

  • @Southerntreatment Thanks Joe! Oh don't worry she is already! LOL I have noticed that they did fake switches which turns out looking really good, I actually was thinking of doing one myself too! I still want to buy 4-5 more switches at $75.00 or so a pop! So I understand competely...lots of uno's! Its a hobby so really there is no rush just taking time and having fun is the key! I can't wait to see more from your layout once you are done with school! Good luck on your finals my friend!

  • @PghTrainFanatic thanks dude! im gonna need it!

  • Nice layout! The Engine Servicing Facility is really nice! I like all of the little details that were added in!

  • @BonesCentralRR Thanks! Yeah the engine house is huge! there are sooo many details on this layout its ridiculous! There are something like 110 moving parts or figures, if you ever have the chance to see it, do it! Its a memory that will last a lifetime!

  • I remember my dad taking me there when I was a kid. It is a great experience for any age. Hopefully I can get back there again to see it. Thanks for bringing back some old memories.

  • @79trains I have the same memories my friend! I remember going to see it when it used to be at the old buehl planetarium! They add new things to the layout every year so there are so many new things to see since you have been there!

  • classic

  • @BinkyBoat It sure is! It was started in a guy's basement in the 50's I think, then it became a pubic display, and its been growing, & moving ever since!

  • nice! look neat

  • @RandN425 Thanks! It really is!

  • Nick, That is a great place to get ideas for your layout and to carrie on that great tradition with your daughter. Did you get a chance to ask them how they made the water feature.

  • @aocruiser Thanks Anthony! It will be a great place to hold the tradition my dad had with me, now for me it will be with my daughter. As for the water, its real!!!!

  • @aocruiser Oh and I foget to mention that there are boat that actually navigate through the rivers on the real water!!!! Its off the hook dude! There are even a couple little streams that run off of the mountains into the river! Its so packed with details that this video really doesn't do it justice! If you are ever around the burgh check this out for sure!

  • @geminijets11 Thanks! Its such an awesome display!
