I'm one of those liberals who may not vote if I see the public option compromised further until it's so weak it doesn't help anyone . Come on Dem's give your base some red meat or kiss it good by in 2010.
It is obviously clear that Obambi will be a 1 term EPIC FAIL and will get PWNED by Sarah Palin in 2012! Palin will become America's GREATEST POTUS of ALL TIMES and only she has the power to win the war in Afghanistan for she has the POWER and WRATH OF GOD HERSELF! She WILL unleash it onto the Taliban, Al-Queda, Karzai, and even the Pakis and EXPOSE all the evil and corrupt middle eastern men's PUSSIES for the WHOLE WORLD to see!
@classic14rider O allknowing master, is it obvious that the sky is clear lol ? Oh, i know now you respond to my joke with an immature reply and in the middle of that you say that im uneducated. Or now will ya since i just ruined ur plan. now you see the comment you posted doesnt make you any smarter than those people. And there is nothing wrong with saying "obviously clear".
And no, im not saying im smarter by replying to you. I consider myself pretty stupid and its so fun to watch u smart ppl.
The far left, heck, the mainstream left in some cases, wants:
-single payer health care
-revoke Patriot Act
-pull out of Middle East
-end torture
-end warrantless wiretapping
Obama won't push for any of that. Remind me again, how exactly is the "far left and George Soros" close to resurrecting the Archdemon Noca Bnivek as Rush Limbaugh claims?
BTW that's not an endorsement to necessarily vote for Obama or Pelosi. If you're dissatisfied with Obama and the DNC for being like typical politicians and continuing Bush policy why don't you vote for ACTUAL progressives? Like Dennis Kucinich, Alan Grayson, Anthony Weiner, Patrick Leahy, Russ Feingold, Bernie Sanders, etc.?
Dem voters kind of have themselves to blame for continually voting for center-right corporate losers instead of people who actually match their own views.
actually feingold is more conservative then anyone would know. the best progressives are jackson jr, barbara lee, donna edwards. and in the senate dick durbin
You might be right. Either way Obama's constituents need to get off their asses and put people who truly share their views and beliefs in office in 2010 instead of pouting and giving the far right an easy touchdown. If they think Obama is a disappointment wait until you get a-holes like Grassley, Boehner (the guys behind the "death panel" myth) Inhofe or Joe "You Lie" Neo-Confederate Wilson replacing Reid and Pelosi and then Palin replacing Obama.
Democrats and liberals who won't vote are shooting themselves in the foot. While they sit out and pout and kick rocks the Republicans will be hard at work trying to vote in an all-Republican Congress just like we had under the first six years of Bush. That will put them in a good position to get someone like Sarah Palin in the White House in 2012.
Heed my word: you sit out this election at your own risk.
WTF are we to do? do we continue to vote for the moderate democrats? This country is too damn stupid to vote third party ... so we're stuck ... if the democrats lose the fake assertion that the country wants more conservatism will be reinforced yet again
Conservatives will vote because they are convinced the evil far left has taken over. On healthcare, the far left wants single payer. Obama won't even push hard for a public option. The far left wants full gay rights. No comment. The far left, heck, mainstream left wants the Patriot Act revoked and so called "national security" power grabs revoked. No comment. The far left wants us out of the Middle East. No comment.
That sounded like a long list of things that Obama has failed to do. With the exception of gay rights, which is the fault of the Democrats and not Obama's fault, as far as I can tell.
I can't even express how disappointed I am with Obama's tepid and noncommittal stances on foreign policy and civil liberties issues; and yet I'm even more disappointed by how few of his supporters seem to be calling him on it. Thanks for going against the grain, Headzup!
I don't think I'm going to be voting for any mainstream Democrats or Republicans for a while, unless I start hearing some immediate promises to bring our troops home. Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul...I'm lookin' at you guys!
About time someone said it. What's the point in voting for people who won't stand up for what they claim to believe in?
Meanwhile Obama himself deserves blame too -- someone commented to me "Remember when Bush was in office and we would rather have a potted plant as president?"
Yes, but I fear that's what we have now -- a pretty potted plant that gives speeches. I can't stand to hear Obama give speeches anymore.
I doubt I will vote either, I've mostly stopped paying attention to politics.
It's just like Bill Maher said. "Conservative went to the town halls and shouted at their representatives. Liberals stayed home and shouted at the TV."
The has been tremendous pressure on dems to forgo the important progressive issues that we liberals have been so looking forward to. We sit around bitching about it on the Internet but this summer all that was seen was the tea-baggers and the town hall disruptors. Where were we? Had we made our presence felt a lot stronger, maybe Congress would have had the balls to pass some meaningful legislation. Now, we want to complain about the dems when we never had their backs.
I guess that the 40% of Democrats will vote either Palin/Romney/Jindal/Paul or anyone who's not Obama. There are democrats in California that are voting GOP instead of their own party. And not only that, there's a growing switch in political parties. Mostly from Democrat to Republican.
You sure you're not a closet Republican, because that's what you sound like to me. Obama is trying to clean up Bush's mess and people are giving him a hard time. This political issue is not black/white. There are a lot of gray areas when it comes to Afghanistan. If you wanna vote for Palin, then more power to you.
P.S.: I have a disability and Democrats don't believe in disabilities, they take away from them. Only Republicans do. Yet I still support the democrats. I'm college educated, I'm going for my law degree at U of Chicago.
there is no way in hell that i would vote for a political party that has been taken over completely by gun nuts, religious fanatics, teabaggers, stop the world we wanna get off american nationalists, birchers etc.
whoops. my bad. sorry. the fact is, as i look at all the votes of all the congress and the senate of 2009( yes, i have every vote up to nov. 23rd of both the house and senate)i would still say that the democrats are still an improvement over the republicans.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but that's an easy way to hand the congress and alot of governorships back to the GOP. I'm not saying those polled, if the numbers mean anything, are wrong to feel how they do. But give the dog (the GOP) a bone, and sooner than you know it, they'll be back.
We live in a world where power and continuity of power is controlled by the rich and the vain. The prez has to try to work with that. Remember the assassinated Kennedys, remember 911. The top people who "work the power" are major players and criminals with a fortress/war mentality. Cheney pulled off 911. Everyone who has a job in "da news" has to go along with the big lie. It's the same with religion. The pope and his kind use their "proximity" to "god" as a license to lie to "inferiors".
Speaking of that, does everyone know that "ZEITGEIST: ADDENDUM" was released on 10/02/08? It's viewable on Google videos but a great little 8 minute clip is on YouTube: Zeitgeist - The Movie: World Trade Center (Part 2 of 4).
SUCIDE - Zeitgeist Addendum is hard core communist trash the maker of the movie admitted on a radio show that to live in his futuristic high tech society people with have to be "re-educated.
airborne373, Wouldn't you expect to be "re-educated" to live in a futuristic high tech society? I think Denmark is the best society in the world so I guess that would make me a socialist sympathizer. That clip I cited doesn't talk about "communism" so it's safe to watch without being defiled by communist propaganda. But be warned: "ZEITGEIST: THE MOVIE" does challenge religious belief.
Actually Hitler killed at least 35 million (at least 15 million in Western Europe and 20 million Russians). Mao killed about 12 million people during the Cultural Revolution and another 15 million starved due to his ineffective policies and famines. Stalin killed about 9-10 million and another 8 million starved.
That's beside the point. Blaming socialism or small-c communism for Stalin and Mao is like blaming capitalism for Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo.
Try reading some credible historical sources instead of the Black Book of Communism you freaking spaz.
And by your logic we could say capitalism killed well over 50 million people between 1700-1900 in the Atlantic Slave Trade alone (not counting the wars and deaths during industrialization).
Talking about the deaths due to the policies of various ideologies is not defending the deaths caused by one or the other.
It's funny how you throw shit at other ideologies but have a stroke when someone says something bad about your precious ideology. I always get a laugh taking ideologues' precious sacred cows to the slaughterhouse.

Pretty much sums it up.
The Bama is a one term "President", and
as indicated by GOP victories in NJ & VA last month,
2010 will be a good year for the Republicans.
Now that's,
"hope & change" you can count on.

I've noticed a pattern over the last 20 years.
When Reps. win, they say it's because of their conservativism.
When they lose, they say it's because they weren't conservative enough.
When Dems win, they say it's because of "bipartisanship".
When they lose, they say it's because they were too far to the left.
Result:
We now have two parties: One loopy far right wing party and the other, the milquetoast moderate party that constantly appeases the right wing.
