EA, why hasn't there been an underground 3 yet? NFS Underground and Underground 2 are the best and probably most succesful NFS games ever created so why stop at number 2? To be fair, after Underground 2 the NFS games after that went downhill. The storylines were pretty good but the game itself was rubbish and now EA are making track games! Thats not what need for speed is about! Need for speed is about being able to modify your car to the max and then go out on the streets!
Blatant lies! The steering input lags is even worse than Shift 1. The cars still feels floaty, the drift physic is still wrong. Stay away from this game!
@sup3rcars I played GT5 nearly every day since day 1, so its a game for me. I play online a lot and compete against other people. I'm playing both because I bought it so I'm going to continue to play it still. I just absolutely hate the physics of it compared to that of GT5. It would be a great game if they improved that and the graphics (PS3 version at least) a little more. Others enjoy games for different reasons of course. I enjoy realism most, so I'm partial to GT5.
@rhythmnsmoke The physics for GT5 are terrible......I have played Forza Motorsport 3 and GT5 and I can honestly say that Forza knocks GT5 out of the water. The realism and physics in Forza just blow GT5 away.

@rhythmnsmoke I'm 19. And I have driven enough cars to know. I know quite a bit about cars, considering I live with a friend who is quite passionate about them. Just because I haven't been in a race car means absolutely nothing. He has played both, and in GT5 he says that it can not carry its weight through a drift. It's like it has no inertia. Both me and him love to drift cars and we feel that the drift physics in Forza are better than GT5.

@rhythmnsmoke And I have watched comparison videos of Forza tracks vs real world tracks, and GT5 tracks vs real world tracks and Forza is much more realistic with them. Like the most recent one I have seen had been Nürburgring vs GT5 and the same vs Forza. GT5 had turns in wrong spots, or they were way early or too sharp or too wide of a turn. Forza is much more accurate to the real world track. I'm just saying that Forza is more realistic.

GT5's representation of Nurburgring is the most accurate Period. How is that? Because Kaz (GT5's developer) RACED on the Nurburg himself in real life. NOBODY at Turn 10 (Forza developers) ever stepped foot on the Nurburg in real life. And you think they can make a more accurate track...not.

@lycanrunner Every game has it's place I reckon. Forza is still a fun game don't get me wrong. Shift 2 is fun for what it's meant to offer/bring to the table. It's just their marketing for the game was a bit deceitful imo...When they throw around advertisements like saying it has the "Best Physics ever", I would expect it to be better than GT5. But it was all hype really. Forza even has better physics than Shift 2.
@rhythmnsmoke Forza does not have a permanent aid. I just checked. When I drift all my driving aids are off. As for GT5 I haven't played it recently so updates might have improved it. I'm pretty sure I had all driving aids off when I played, but I could be wrong. You're swinging me around to thinking about buying it again.

@lycanrunner I'd take 200 premium cars and 800 standards any day over Cartoon colored cars and crappy graphic interiors that Forza provides. I'd take road surface feel in GT5 over the floaty feeling of Forza any day. Something tells me you don't drive without driving aids in the game. You need to turn them all OFF, that's possible in GT5, not possible in Forza. It has a permanent driving aid to help noobs.

guys this game is made to play as third person view, believe me when i was in cockpit view, i thought the handling was weird , the car couldnt even go straight...but when i switch to the back of the car view, it was much better. who agrees?
dont...this game is not made for wheels. Its a console game, and maybe with mods and alot of tweaking it will feel reasonable...but on my g25 i still havent found good settings..its a fun game tough, but its just not what they promised it would be..

@sup3rcars Like I mentioned, the subtle differences in the car changes their characteristics. Whether you appreciate that or not is your opinion and desire. I don't mind it myself. I have been playing Shift 2 for about yhrs so far and I'm still trying to figure out when will the time come when I don't feel like I have been cheated out of money. What the have advertised has been a gross overstatement. I feel this bad and I only paid $10 bucks for the game.
for Australia game you think they put in ford and Holden v8 supercars in to the game as v8 supercars series, still waiting for new v8 car series game but i no never happen you only dream or have lots of money, all i need one oil big guy give bit then i get made.
So far, Shift 2 has glitched on me 4 times within the first 24hrs. I've had to turn the PS3 off and turn it back on a few times. Send DLC to fix this please people.
@sup3rcars They thought maybe it was just the tires that did the change but nope cause they put the new tires on the old and still didn't feel as refined as the new year S2k. And please don't start naming off cars in Forza that are not in GT5, cause there are a TON of cars in GT5 NOT in Forza...Remember GT5 has 1000+ and they are not just repeats of the same car. If you think GT5 is all about a LOT of cars, then you haven't played it long enough or played it at all.
@sup3rcars In the case of the S2k, there was a real video I saw (a BMI video with the Drift King). In it, they were testing to year production S2k's. You wouldn't be able to tell a difference just looking at them, but the changes were wider tires on the rear and the geometry of the suspension changed. It gave the car a different handling characteristic than the previous S2k.
@sup3rcars While the interiors do look good, it is not as good as GT5. I would say it was in between Forza 3 and GT5. Better than Forza 3 but not as good as GT5. I see the point in GT5 having 1000 cars, as I drive a LOT of them (even standard models), and each of them feel different than one another. Someone not up to speed on the changes between model cars would look at the multiple versions as fluff. But subtle changes that happened in real life made the car handle differently.
im going to say this right now and u all know im right. straight up shift one is better in everything except the gameplay. the menus were better, the garage showcase (graphics and just all around presentation), and nothing against vauhn but i wish he would shut up. i liked the purple smoke and shattered glass thing too.

But it is the best looking "ridge racer" game, should not be called a simulation. You cant get a front wheel drive car to slide around the corner, they understeer..If you not look at the game as a simulations then it is good. It is more like a ridge racer game, not simulation like forza 3 or f1 2010.
This game is CRAP,all cars behaves like they were on ice, you are not steering the car but you are sliding with the back, even front wheel drive. I am so disappointed cause the graphics and courses are amazing.You should have the bumpcamera for best experience(not cam from the back).The car in the games behave so far away from a car in reality. It is a shame, like shift 1 i throw in the garbage. Just try forza 3, that is how a car behave, mix forza3 with nfs_shift2 graphics and courses.
i did 10% of the game(when you first do 5 laps on medium level) they are all dancing around like they were on ice. But it is the best looking game for sure, The graphics are amazing and courses, by far the best so it is a pitty. You should take it more like a ridge racer game and not think about how the cars behave.
@sup3rcars You are not a game developer and neither am I, so you don't know what it took to get this project off the ground. I've read a "Technical" article about GT5, not the typical review type ones, and in this article they were stating that it would have possibly taken another 5 yrs to develop ALL the cars into premium models. They were explaining the graphical achievements GT5 was aiming for, and what it takes to get there. No other game has pushed the PS3 to these levels.
@sup3rcars Comparing this to what? The horrible cockpit visuals and the non-visible gauge clusters in Forza? Or the glass sliding around surface feel They gave us in Shift 1? You have to put a comparison in the mix as all games have there flaws, so nit picking at one game isn't going to mean much.

@rhythmnsmoke I'm 19. And I have driven enough cars to know. I know quite a bit about cars, considering I live with a friend who is quite passionate about them. Just because I haven't been in a race car means absolutely nothing. He has played both, and in GT5 he says that it can not carry its weight through a drift. It's like it has no inertia. Both me and him love to drift cars and we feel that the drift physics in Forza are better than GT5.

@rhythmnsmoke And I have watched comparison videos of Forza tracks vs real world tracks, and GT5 tracks vs real world tracks and Forza is much more realistic with them. Like the most recent one I have seen had been Nürburgring vs GT5 and the same vs Forza. GT5 had turns in wrong spots, or they were way early or too sharp or too wide of a turn. Forza is much more accurate to the real world track. I'm just saying that Forza is more realistic.

GT5's representation of Nurburgring is the most accurate Period. How is that? Because Kaz (GT5's developer) RACED on the Nurburg himself in real life. NOBODY at Turn 10 (Forza developers) ever stepped foot on the Nurburg in real life. And you think they can make a more accurate track...not.

Not "Better" physics when comparing a game to a real life cars handling characteristics. That's what GT5 is for. GT5 tries to be like real life. Every other game tries to be like GT5.

@lycanrunner Every game has it's place I reckon. Forza is still a fun game don't get me wrong. Shift 2 is fun for what it's meant to offer/bring to the table. It's just their marketing for the game was a bit deceitful imo...When they throw around advertisements like saying it has the "Best Physics ever", I would expect it to be better than GT5. But it was all hype really. Forza even has better physics than Shift 2.

@rhythmnsmoke Forza does not have a permanent aid. I just checked. When I drift all my driving aids are off. As for GT5 I haven't played it recently so updates might have improved it. I'm pretty sure I had all driving aids off when I played, but I could be wrong. You're swinging me around to thinking about buying it again.

I like that it has more options than Forza and the fact that it has Go kart racing. The thing I don't like is how the cars are represented. Only 200 cars are fully made in HD, Really? They couldnt spend a little more time working on the game to make it completely HD? Like 800 cars could run on the PS2 from a review I read

@lycanrunner I'd take 200 premium cars and 800 standards any day over Cartoon colored cars and crappy graphic interiors that Forza provides. I'd take road surface feel in GT5 over the floaty feeling of Forza any day. Something tells me you don't drive without driving aids in the game. You need to turn them all OFF, that's possible in GT5, not possible in Forza. It has a permanent driving aid to help noobs.

THIS GAME HAS WORST CAR HANDLING EVER: you never know when your car will suddenly snap in the corner, on straights it starts to wobble without any user input and there's huge lag for wheel users. Shift 2 is total waste of money.

So far, Shift 2 has glitched on me 4 times within the first 24hrs. I've had to turn the PS3 off and turn it back on a few times. Send DLC to fix this please people.

@sup3rcars They thought maybe it was just the tires that did the change but nope cause they put the new tires on the old and still didn't feel as refined as the new year S2k. And please don't start naming off cars in Forza that are not in GT5, cause there are a TON of cars in GT5 NOT in Forza...Remember GT5 has 1000+ and they are not just repeats of the same car. If you think GT5 is all about a LOT of cars, then you haven't played it long enough or played it at all.

@sup3rcars In the case of the S2k, there was a real video I saw (a BMI video with the Drift King). In it, they were testing to year production S2k's. You wouldn't be able to tell a difference just looking at them, but the changes were wider tires on the rear and the geometry of the suspension changed. It gave the car a different handling characteristic than the previous S2k.

@sup3rcars While the interiors do look good, it is not as good as GT5. I would say it was in between Forza 3 and GT5. Better than Forza 3 but not as good as GT5. I see the point in GT5 having 1000 cars, as I drive a LOT of them (even standard models), and each of them feel different than one another. Someone not up to speed on the changes between model cars would look at the multiple versions as fluff. But subtle changes that happened in real life made the car handle differently.

sorry if i hurt your feelings, the game are actually done in sweden and i am from sweden :). The cars act more like they are gocars. They should call it a gocart game. But it is the best looking "ridge racer" game, should not be called a simulation. You cant get a front wheel drive car to slide around the corner, they understeer..If you not look at the game as a simulations then it is good. It is more like a ridge racer game, not simulation like forza 3 or f1 2010.

This game is CRAP,all cars behaves like they were on ice, you are not steering the car but you are sliding with the back, even front wheel drive. I am so disappointed cause the graphics and courses are amazing.You should have the bumpcamera for best experience(not cam from the back).The car in the games behave so far away from a car in reality. It is a shame, like shift 1 i throw in the garbage. Just try forza 3, that is how a car behave, mix forza3 with nfs_shift2 graphics and courses.

i did 10% of the game(when you first do 5 laps on medium level) they are all dancing around like they were on ice. But it is the best looking game for sure, The graphics are amazing and courses, by far the best so it is a pitty. You should take it more like a ridge racer game and not think about how the cars behave.

@sup3rcars You are not a game developer and neither am I, so you don't know what it took to get this project off the ground. I've read a "Technical" article about GT5, not the typical review type ones, and in this article they were stating that it would have possibly taken another 5 yrs to develop ALL the cars into premium models. They were explaining the graphical achievements GT5 was aiming for, and what it takes to get there. No other game has pushed the PS3 to these levels.
