  • This guy is way better and more sincere than jay leno or conan o' brian. He's not some liberal crackpot or crazy conservative. He's probably an independent like me :)

  • In Texas a 70 is a D... I should of moved to Cali.

  • @KlawOfChicken or another city in texas that follows the same grading system as the rest of america..

  • @KlawOfChicken its should have.... good luck with that 70

  • wow. it's easy to get a laugh from an american audience.

  • For someone who dropped out of high school .... he is VERY smart !!!

  • @deadmanavir its not like in the USA. Dropping out at 16 was common, especially for those entering trades. But I think his joke is more aimed at the American culture. Also in the UK to this day you can leave when your 16

  • @DB3457 Yes but the amount of stuff he sometimes says about :history ... The way he talks about the universe ... They don't teach you that in school for sure !

  • craig ferguson is a silly billy goat

  • @Xerotaerg

I feel the same way when I watch their damned, comedies - for God's love of the word.

They have a pretty strange sense of humour.

  • Get even vote Stephen.

  • @Xerotaerg we like to have a good time

  • @Xerotaerg Apparently where you're from, they don't laugh enough. :]

  • is this supposed to be funny?

  • Watching ferguson's rants about American society just makes me more eager to go there and more depressed knowing I can't.

  • it's sad that so many Americans can't be bothered with voting, and then we get stuck with dip shits like Bush. Of course then we get a large majority of Americans to vote, we get Obama, and he tries to out Bush Bush...it's sad

  • Voting is pointless.

  • "Googly web" hahahah

  • You here that Conan, he actual has a live audience

  • @MegaGunslingerX Conan has a live audience. WTF you talking about?

  • I'm not interested in politics at all.. I just don't feel like I can change anything note worthy through politics, even if I could I wouldn't cuz I like it the way it is. I solve my problems my own way, not by depending on the government to hold my hand. People get a little bit too hysterical about people not voting imo. I just don't want to waste a vote on something I know nothing about and thereby ruin it for everyone else.

  • 2:00 is that a b? its a D???????? Where the hell did you go to school :o

    Everyone YEA!! LOL

  • It's ok, Craig, you're not losing your mind. The US has a very different grading system to the UK & Ireland. Over here (Ireland) it's 40% pass usually. And in some unis or colleges 70% is a first. Mine anyway!

  • you know craig if it weren't for that accent people would think you were born here

  • @barbedwireplayer Not really, sadly. Too few natural-born citizens talk like this.

  • @redfive2008 um... ok but that's not what i was saying.

  • evryone in that audience needs to go back to school a 60 is an F LOL

  • @AssassinsCreed515 It's a C- in some places.

  • he reminds me of bill o'reiley in the beginning

  • The day politics is about solving problems and not just allocating money I'd begin voting ..

  • First off, I love Craig. But I don't like it when people go around encouraging everyone to vote. Why? If you aren't informed and don't care, then I don't want you to vote. Only people who take the time to educate themselves about issues and candidates should actually cast ballots. I don't want morons just going and voting for whoever is most amusing on TV. This is how Sarah Palin got as far as she did. :P

  • @palmfrond By encouraging people to vote, they're more likely to educate themselves. Sure, we have plenty of morons who go out and vote for whoever because they find them amusing, but a lot of people would actually take the time to learn about what's going on and who supports what if they're convinced to vote.

  • Democrat or Republican...they are all cut from the same cloth

  • "a D is 60%?! Really? ...." loved that moment xD

  • @ooLJCoo

He is an American; he became a naturalized citizen in 2008. He even wrote a book called "American on Purpose." Go troll somewhere else.

  • @hawkin939 He has a personality defect.

  • Nothing worse than someone from the UK talking like an American.

  • @ooLJCoo FYI he is a naturalized citizen originally from Scotland not the UK.

  • Comment removed

  • @mromero047 I might be wrong but United Kingdom isn't formed by England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales?. So I would say he is a naturalized citizen from the UK just not England.

  • @alobo2000 UK = scotland england wales and northern ireland. Ireland is a republic :) Britain= scotland england wales

  • @mromero047 Scotland is in the UK.

  • Good stuff and TOTALLY AGREE!

  • 50 and above is passing in texas, or was when I was in hs.

  • @specialkrj Not anymore. I'm a Texas student and it has to be 70 or above

  • the more i watch craig ferguson, the more i love him ♥

(PS: in my high school, anything 65 or below counted as a failing grade. dunno what it is in college. but of course, the difficulty of the coursework is what really matters.)

  • The one thing I admire about Craig is how he doesn't always talk politics, but when he does he is pretty passionate in his messages. He isn't noticeably swayed by any side, liberal or conservative, but he doesn't have to be. He wants a responsible body of people to be involved in the future of this country; That's all I ask for.

That said, this is not a democracy; it is a constitutional republic with democratic processes. Although, he was talking about the democratic part of it.

  • "Is it really?"

    "Yeah!"

  • someone should tell him we are not a democracy

  • lol... i love how the whole audience goes YES! about the 60percent thing XD

  • Ferguson is great at making you think and laugh at the same time.

  • the 5 people who disliked this DIDN'T vote

  • Comment removed

  • I like his "Do you live anywhere?" comment.

  • Notice everyone intoned the word "yes" in exactly the same way at 2:13

  • Craig is more of an american than other americans that were born here will ever be

  • It's not a D, it's a C. Well, at least it is here in Canada.

  • @redisforever007 In America, the grading scale is as such:

    90-100% - A

    80-89% - B

    70 - 79% - C

    60 - 69& - D

    59 & below - F

    Or some variant of that.

  • @jjbkwrm1991 I live in America and below a 70 is an F for me! :O

  • @ASevenFold6661 Woah! I did not know this. I guess it varies within the country too; every school I've gone to has used some form of this scale. But then, I suppose I've only ever gone to schools in my state ;).

How high do you have to score to get an A???

  • @redisforever007 this is funny

  • "I'm really glad I dropped out of high school, I would've sucked!" I love it!

  • I just became of fan of Craig and he is just BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • Ferguson if you were to run for President I would vote for you!

  • @ksb78 sadly, your vote would be wasted - he cannot run.

  • @ksb78 Scottish heads of state don't work, !!Gordon Brown!!

  • I don't know what kinda grading scale they got there, but here 0-66% is an F.

  • I like how the audience's last "yes" has a "yes, dumbass!" attitude to it

  • 60 perthent

  • 60 is an F

  • in college its the lowest D

  • @fishSG1 D-

  • not where I am from. In my school district 65 is an F.

  • Yeah! Maine! Woot!

  • Do you realize (all your posts duh!) that its always different wherever you go to SCHOOL!?!?!?! whats wrong with you ignorant people?!?!?! They are ALL different. Thats all you have to say is compare if its a d, a d-, an f or whatever ? DO YOU LISTEN TO WHAT HE'S SAYING ?!?! (GUESS NOT!!) all you posters who comment deserve an F for your comments because you sound so stupid!!!! GET OVER IT!!!

  • 60 is an F in my school.

  • he is simply amazing. hilariousness with such seriousness

  • We're actually not a democracy, we're a federal republic.

    :)

  • The normal grade is 60% = D-

    But in some schools 50% = D-

  • Craig loves his homeland, He's always been proud, you clearly haven't seen most of his shows.

  • 60% is a D-

  • 60% is a F where I go.

  • 60 is a D in MA<3 :)

  • a 60 is an F and an expulsion in New York D:

    Ferguson's the best!

  • I go to York and here 60 is C-, 57 is D+

  • I was one of the "thousands of people" in the studio audience! Woo! XD

  • A 60 is considered a D in some places.

  • D- where I'm from.

  • lol, in that case, about half of my grade would have failed their end of year exams last year

  • This message of his really should spread out more because it's so true, but unfortunately so few actually get to hear it.

Craig has such a good sense about things and is great at communicating those ideas with people.

I wish somehow more people could hear what he's said here, then we'd hopefully have a more aware country.

  • what time does this show air?

  • lol Scotland has freedom too...so does the majority of the western world despite what you're told!

  • @TheFightFactory Scotland is a territory or some variation of that word of the United Kingdom. Ignorant chum,=.

  • I'm from the UK you fucking spoon. I was replying to that other person...Typical ignorant Americans thinking that they are the only free country in the world. And the Untied Kingdom= The united kingdoms of ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES and N.Ireland.

  • Woulnd't identifying yourself as being from the UK have been extremely helpful in saving me the embarrassment of having to apologize? I'm sorry a.k.a., I apologize. Just because I'm an ignorant American doesn't mean we are all ignorant. And no, I do not think that the USA is the only free country in the world. Also it would have been helpful in stating in the first posting that you were replying to the other fellow. This way, again, I'd be spared the embarrassment of having to apologize.

  • 12:35 a.m. on weekdays :] on cbs which is channel 5 in most areas

  • sounds like your jealous.

  • Jealous of what you fucking idiot?

  • Hey, Fight, I'm American and it's pretty unfair for you to generalize, when don't generalize about your country. We Americans LOVE the UK and think highly of it. This being only a youtube comment forum, I don't let the ignorant people shape my view of a country. Too bad I can't say the same about other people.

  • @ksb78 "We Americans LOVE the UK " ur generalizing urself, u idiot. its because of people like you that ur country is stereotyped as retarded.

  • LMAO! Okay, sweetie.

  • @TheFightFactory

Typical response from the Britwit side of the aisle. Do us all a favor and keep you snaggle-toothed rancor to yourself. Thank you. Also, thanks for the geography lesson. Nobody cares.

  • @TheFightFactory Don't forget most of these other countries doesn't have a pathetic two-party systems. They also have a higher rate of education, and don't have to go in debt when they get sick because of the EVIL SOCIALIST, FASCIST, COMMUNIST (all different things, but the same for right-wing) UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE!!!

  • depends on which celebrity talks though:)

  • I'm so proud of Craig for keeping that info private...He's sooo right

  • That sounded good and all, maybe it is idk, but I've always thought it is best if people who aren't interested, which means they don't know the issues, the policies, or how it's going to effect them at all, shouldn't vote. They are easily manipulated and wont vote in their best interest. Yes, it would be great if we had a fully alert population, who knew what was going on in politics but we don't. If someone doesn't want to vote, they don't know how its going to effect them so they shouldn't.

  • anyone know who was the musical performance leading into this?

-oh yeah, of course craig rocks, love the guy, all that stuff.

since i'm commenting, i have to say i'm kinda disappointed craig doesn't have his own channel instead of having his videos scattered randomly under cbs; i just love listening to this guy!

  • What I JUST CANNOT UNDERSTAND is why he wasn't chosen to succeed Jay Leno for the Tonight Show!!! It defies all concepts of what we call reality!!!

  • He's on the wrong network...maybe he'll take over for Letterman...

  • what he said. wrong network. although, definetely succeed david letterman or there shall be hell to pay!

  • Man I can't wait to vote (I'm 16), I was so mad I was left out of this last election.

Well... I did a voter registration drive, so not completely left out.

I wish there was an essay <18 year old could do to vote early.

Or I could just be patient.. :)

  • I am not an American, so I cannot really follow everything you say , but your shows are execellent and I enjoy it a lot. Keep it up Craig, may be we will see you as the president of United states!! Yess I said it .. lol

  • You have to be born in america to become the president. He's Scottish.

  • It would be so awesome if he took over for Letterman. Like him better anyway.

  • He's so cute and sexy. Love his accent.

  • Just sad

  • "Just sayin" Love you, Craig!!!

  • spot on, Craig...

I wish there were a relationship application form I could fill out and send him... ;-; his patriotism only makes him more dead sexy.

  • Great observations and insight, with a great touch of comedy. The comedy makes it palatable, otherwise many of the statistics would be sad and embarrassing. Everyone should vote. It's OUR Country, we need to get more involved in it, not less involved. If every American were truly involved, politicians would get away with a lot less, and we'd benefit by getting a lot more.

  • 64% was failing in my high school.

    FAIL, America! FAIL!

  • Mine too.

  • ha! It's so true!

  • Preach it, brother! You're absolutely right!

(btw, a 60 was definitely failing at my school!)

  • I love how earnest he is about America. He is a brand new citizen and he is so gun-ho about voting. I agree with him wholeheartedly. It is shameful how low the percentage is.

  • Craig makes an intelligent argument without having to resort to hate speech or fear mongering. This man is a newly naturalized citizen and has more common sense than most people that were born here.

Plus he's right about one thing -of all the things we do everyday, every week, month or year - voting has to be the easiest, yet most beneficial thing we can hope for.

People spend hours, if not days waiting in line for a new iPod - but complain about having to stand in line to vote.

    Lazy!

    GoVote

  • n shut the fuck up! like being controlled? :) 0

  • if you vote = you can bitch all you want about government...if not shut up!!!!!!!!!

  • election day is judgement day.

  • lol ur funny, in a retarded shit ur pants sort of way, i guess if u wud call urself freejoe u wud have to be

  • I wish more celebrities would follow Craig's advice and shut the hell up! I could not care less who Matt Damon, Scarlett what's-her-face, or George Clooney are voting for. Voting is something we should all do but God's sake you don't have tell everyone within a five mile radius who you're voting for. I DO NOT CARE!

  • but your opinion on that is worth hearing? conversely, should anyone care what you have to say? you don't have to listen. they speak because they know people will listen. and there's a document you forget about called the constitution that not only lets them talk, but protects their right to do so. you're telling everyone within an infinite elctronic radius your own opinion, however banal. why attack theirs?

  • Stating your opinion is one thing, but you don't have to force it down people's throats. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this, watch the video above.

  • Poot poot!

  • he's not a full bred american, but i'm GLAD to have Craig in this country and to be a Citizen now....

    =]

  • @itchw33d so what if hes not american, its called immigration. racist. OH "GLAD" ARE YOU. bellend.

  • @itchw33d But surely that was the point of the US, it's not about being 'born and bred' :)

  • He hit the nail on the head with this one. Like he said, let people think for themselves, unlike other TV hosts like Oprah who publicly endorsed Obama, or pastor John Hagee who publically endorsed McCain. I'm even a Christian myself, and I don't think a pastor has any business whatsoever endorsing a candidate because that's almost like trying to tell his congregation how to vote and the same goes for Oprah.

  • mccain's expansion of the military industrial complex and kickbacks for large oil companies and cronyism is pure unfettered communism my friend, forget about socialism.

    DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE

  • I will be voting for Obama's second term, when I get my citizenship.

  • @TheRiemannIntegral ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Lol, I'm gonna get to vote next year XD!

  • We do not live in a democracry we live in a constitutional republic. The government doesn't want you to know you live in a republic because they want to operate as a democracry.

  • Couldn't agree more. If you still think America is a democracy, recite the pledge of allegiance, and stop at the sixteenth word.

  • A constitutional republic is a type of democracy. >_>

  • Give the man a standing ovation, no one is more ardent in his opinion because he is a NEW America. Make Him proud of YOU, because you did you homework and exercised you right bought with the blood of patriots ever since 1776. Some are still dying to keep you free, freedom isn't free...do your Duty and vote.

  • 64% is a C lol

  • Maybe in Canada.

  • Definately in Canada

  • Ferguson is a terrific comedian, but he's AWESOME on things like this.

At least one of the Presidential candidates has voter registration information - online in some states' cases - on his website. Possibly both candidates... you find out. Point and click!

  • i wish celebrities would just shut up and vote too.

  • Ferguson proves that it pays to be honest and fair.

  • one of the smartest things CBS did was get this guy to work for them ! Hes brilliant !

  • i guess we can't really talk about the fact that voting didn't really count in the last two elections on TV eh?

whenever i hear the saying that sometimes when you lose you win, i can't help but think of george.

    meow.

  • Craig just continues to amaze, delight and with this video and the preceding monologue, takes my breath away. His eulogy for his father and the monologue about Britney Spears alcoholism rank right up there. Nobody on TV is that honest.

  • i totally agree. he states his opinion so well without bias and without being obnoixus (sp?). and the britney alcoholism monologue was poignant.

  • i had watched Barak on Letterman right before and he commented on Dave's first show back after 9/11. It was great, but it was somewhat expected, that he'd do something grand. This, from Craig (along with 1st part) was a surprise and still thrills me! I always vote, if for other no reason than to feel like I can complain. And voting in local elections, like school board is the MOST important, closest effect on our lives.

  • he's gr8
