PErsonally, I think Superman is overrated, he's just too easy to defeat when you think about it. Everyone knows he's vulnerable to kryponite and kryptonite isn't really that hard to find in the DC universe if you know where to look. So I think that personally ANYONE can beat superman if you think about it.
But for the sake of this post, as you probably guessed, I'm going with Batman on this one. Besides, Batman's been able to beat up guys even Superman can't . Now that's hardcore.

well try looking at it this way, lex luther always comes close to whoopin up on superman, and i think batman would whoop up on lex..so that puts batman at a higher advantage against superman. Im sure batman would think of something to use against superman..

Sure, Superman's got that whole Kryptonite thing, but he's just this super alien. Batman is a real guy who just trains himself to the bone, has funding and science backing him up, and is cooler than everyone else combined. He's out for revenge and just kicks serious ass.
I think superman is more like a supernatural human, as in batman is just a human with his super gadgets. So it's kinda of unfair for superman cuz he can't get more power, as batman can simply have new gadgets. Heard of the fall of China? Skilled swordsmen were fallen by guns.
ill say superman! but if they could do research about each other online before they got to fight then i guess the winner would be batman! cause hes simply clever and got great helpers! and hes got no superpower so he must be so humble. therefore hes careful! yeshh, i love batman!

I think it boils down to this: In a fair fight with matched powers Bruce Wayne has the advantage. Anything other than this scenario is a certain death for Bruce. I mean, superman could shoot his lasers from 10km away and Batman wouldn't even know what hit him!
The heart attack was intentional, don't forget. Bruce took the pill which he timed to kick in once he'd beaten Supes. It was his way of "retiring" from the public eye in order to start training the youths underground.
Been watching Smallville for a while. I'm sure Bruce Wayne could find some Kryptonite (he's a billionaire afterall), as you said time. I'm voting Superman, on Earth. Unless any huge circumstances pop up, Superman is victorious.
