  • I saw her with Tull at Wolfe Trap in Virginia with a concert pianist from Moscow Conservatory some two years ago.

As much as she liked Jethro Tull, she could not figure out what on earth the virtuoso was doing on stage with them!

  • Well that was pretty Amazing!! Anne Marie is nothing short of FABULOUS! & of Course Ian Always is!!

  • Appearantly he wont slow down. What energy and talent!!!Thanks to the people who recorded this. Now days if you try to record live music you get thrown out. What a loss to the world that would have been if we could not watch the masters at work! Thanks again.

  • grande ian anderson.......!mitico

  • One can hardly call her a " Virtuoso.' Getting eyed from a park bench is the

    more likely explanation.

  • @sehaalturk

    Ha Ha, nicely done!!

  • I so beleave in learning to be instrumental, It keeps yor brain shrap. keeps you fit, It's Longevity. How long has he been performing now?

  • awesome fluatist? Flutist? Flatulesant? ...love it anyways

  • What a great violin solo that was

  • wow oh man

  • Ann Marie was selected by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull to be the featured soloist on his world tour. She won the national audition to play in Steve Vai’s “String Theory” band and also completed a world tour with him. In 2008, she won the “My Grammy Moment,” competition culminating in a performance of “Hero” with the Foo Fighters and conductor John Paul Jones at the GRAMMY Awards.

  • Tonight's performance at Red Rocks was nothing short of mind blowing, sensational sheer artistic talent!!! :D I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! <3

  • Ann-Marie Calhoun. She toured with Steve Vai, too.

  • i get to see him live at the wychwood festival at cheltenham racecource 4th of june. can,t wait.

  • I am a huge Jethro Tull fan and this vid is just amazing

  • Some people are just crazy on stage, im an absoulte psycho over confident dickwit but I dont/have never taken drugs

  • COCAINES' A HELLUVA DRUG!!!!

  • @aronosky69 Ian Anderson has never used any drugs, enough with these comments.

  • riiight....

  • Like most old rockers, Ian strains at the high register. But he's still is one helluva showman and moves better than men a third of his age. I wish there was more video from the early seventies. It was a golden age of live shows and Tull was in a class by themselves.

  • @ricfax There is a video of an epic live performance of Aqualung and its in their early days so watch it its brilliant

  • @ricfax Mostly it's the throat surgery he had in teh 80s, otherwise i imagine he would still have a great voice. SMoking didnt help either.

  • Sorrowlishisiness. Pray for your Parents. Pray for Our Ancestors.

  • Classic Fuck'n Progressive Fuck'n Real Rock Baby !

  • maestro!!!

  • Let's be honest here - the guy CAN NOT SING. Jethro Tull would do better to get me up there and let ian Anderson play flute and guitar. They should have got a professional singer in 20 years back.

I was just looking at live JT concerts from the 1970's - now THEYwere something to behold

  • @garethb1961 Sorry to agree. Saw them in Toronto a few years ago. Thought the mix was effed as we couldn't hear him sing. Turned out his voice is blown. Music was fantastic, couldn't hear the vocals at all. For something on the lighter side, I went to the gents during the intermission and one guy was saying to his buddy, "I didn't know he was so good on the flute". Obviously not their number one fan.

  • @leengee Don't sit in the cheap seats and you'll him just fine....lol

  • @fa0798 wish that were the case. Concert was in Massey Hall. Those that know it will understand. I was in the right side balcony, essentially right on top of the stage. Excellent seats in a great venue.

  • @leengee ...and Eric Clapton doesn't only grow cabbages, he's alright on guitar too. I was wondering where that story of a meeting in the toilets was going for a moment!

  • this its greattttttttt ...i love this song

  • (note to simon cowell): ok, here we have a keyboard and a violin....oooo and there is a GUITAR.....these are called INSTRUMENTS.....once upon a time they were used to make original melodies and sounds alongside singers (sometimes the guys couldnt really sing) and they made great, interesting and enjoyable MUSIC......please take note for future reference.....lol

  • just awesome:)))they stand together to be the smoothest sound of rock:))

  • just awesome:)))they stand together to be the smoothest sound of rock:))

  • Lets face it...the girl stole the whole vid.. 1 .an AWESOME muscician! 2. .A knockout fox and 3.an awesome sense of movement...Ian couldnt keep up with her energy. The way she moves...some man is very lucky...and her sense of dedication in all things life in love. She is too cool!

  • @Phophorousbronze They complimented each other, not competed

  • Who's the skirt? Did Ian "eye her from a park bench"

  • Thats a pretty sick minded comment.

  • @Phophorousbronze Its a direct referance to a line from Jethro Tulls song "Aqualung"

  • @SpritelyOtay Vanessa May - youtube her

  • @SpritelyOtay

Actually, a skirt is a thing, an object. "Who" typically refers to people. Although ... you might be right, one function of the violonist is probably to form some beautiful lively decoration, a counterpart to the group of old men. Thus, you identifying her as an object probably were very wise.

Kind of sad - I wouldn't have guessed Jethro Tull feel they need that to refresh their image.

  • @GrannyWeatherwax13 Refresh?? Tull used violins as far back as 1971. And you're a Tull fan?? I think not.

  • @craig0852

Sure they do. But is it really just accidentally that the person who plays the violin is a female about half the age of the band's average? And is she accidentally referred to as "the skirt"?

Anyway, Ian Anderson is definitely an amazing flutist and doesn't need that.

  • @GrannyWeatherwax13 I agree. especially with the last to lines you wrote. What a waiste of peoples time having this girl fooling around on stage...

  • @SpritelyOtay

... see... not with your eye

An internationally acclaimed rock violinist, actress, composer, vocalist and virtuoso of her instrument Ann Marie Calhoun has successfully transitioned from small town country fiddler to one of the most sought-after creative forces in the entertainment industry.

  • @SpritelyOtay Ann Marie Calhoun and she's in the new Mick Jagger , Dave Stweart and Joss Stone Superheavyy band

  • @SpritelyOtay The virtuoso IN a skirt is our own Anne Marie Calhoun. I was also in awe, seeing this for the first time.

  • @SpritelyOtay Probably a 'band advisor' whose musical talents mildly exceeds her sexual prowess....

  • Eu sou eternamnte apaixonada por Jethro Tull, nossa que mara!!!!

  • my favorite band of all time! far and away.

  • que chimba como siempre y con ese violin a la altura del viejo ian, larguisima vida para una de las agrupaciones con mejor propuesta musical propuesta de todos los tiempos.

  • Well, I stand (sit) corrected. Lady on fiddle is quite hot, regardless of name. Check out bluegrass fiddler Ruby Jane with Mark O'Connor.

  • Jethro Tull, The Minstrel Looks Back 1969-1977 2DVD set available at Tommygun Video - please check our youtube channel for link, clips, more info

  • this is so beautiful!!

  • if it were't for "geezer" rock there would be no rock n roll at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @furtrader19 Airmobile!!!!! Rock n Roll will never die. Keep On Rockin' in the Free World

  • another good argument against geezer rock.

  • First time I've watched this clip and it was absolutely superb, Ian Anderson is a genius for pulling together this mix of musical styles. Just amazing.

  • First time I've watched this clip and it was absolutely superb, Ian Anderson is a genius for pulling together this mix of musical styles. Just amazing.

  • Holy shit, is that Emperor Palpatine on bass? *mind blown*

  • Another different version of this great song.

  • 27 people need to get run over by a locomotive!!!!

  • if there'd be one band I'd really wanna see live...

  • Once more proving the theory that where there is Music, there is LIfe.....and there's still a spring in the old dog's step....Anderson has lost none of his capacity to outplay and out perform even the other old master's of that era....superb!!!!

  • 27 people should be drawn and quartered......

  • I love how she ended it with a bluegrass tune mixed in!!

  • One of the best bands I have ever seen. Even better than Zep live

  • I saw them in Frankfurt, Germany in '74 or 75. They were one of the best ever. I've seen every one at least once but Tull was just plain fun and funny!

    Ring

    Ring

    Hello

    Mike Nelson?

    Is mike Nelson here?

  • the VIOLIN..... fantastico

  • Sadly, only Ian amd Martin remain. Martin is as good as ever, Ian has lost his voice.

  • Sexy Asian women **busizz4me.info**

  • 1 of the most original, creative bands ever.Anyone else notice it is not cookie cutter, cover song bands who rise to cult and Rock God status ? It is the groups that dare to sound, act and look different.

    Love you Tull!

  • where does this bezare behavoir come from ive allways wondered about his music it works very well

  • Brilliant vid! Brilliant artists! Thank you for posting this, chakal8000.

As an aside - when people use profanity to make their comments, it's extrememly DISrespectful to the artist, the person posting the vid, and folks who think that vernacular stinks. Just a thought.

  • @olhuzzy Yes, yes and yes; re: vid, artist & chaka. Thank you!

NO~NO~NO re: your "As an aside" opinion. Here's mine.

"Profanity has been a part of man's evolution ever since some cunt stubbed his toe when chasin' a Mycoplasma genitalium. And we've been cursing ever since, us blokes!

No, the biggest insult here isn't about the posting of harmless profanity - its about some fag dictator trying to tell people how to express themselves. Get fucked, cocksucker!"

    P.S> who's on violin?

  • @MRCLINTFLICK I,m not certain But I THINK the young lady on the violin is a youngster by the name of Ruby. She is a stellar protege of fiddler Mark O'Connor, a bluegrass legend. Check you tube for Mark O'Connor and Bela Fleck at Telluride Bluegrass. The clip starts off with an interview about 30 secs long then goes to a melody I can't name. At the 7 min mark the band triples the tempo and he shreds that bow. O'Connor has been holding fiddle camps for a few years and Ruby Jane has studied

  • Fantastic. Maybe even better the original. But then again it took me until 1973 to catch on.

  • compared to the 80ies they lost a lot of power but they are still amazing..

  • Klasse !!!!!!!! Hut ab !!!!!!! ;-)

  • Strange, Wikipedia says both Ann Marie Calhoun and Lucia Micarelli toured with Tull. Believe Ann Marie is featured here as it wasn't until 2007 that Lucia began touring with them. They look a lot alike.

  • I'm in love with Lucia !!

  • oh. my. god. who the hell was that on violin???? she was incredible. flawless articulation, and bouncing all over the stage at the same time!

  • Yes he is jut out of the way to fuck the classic rocker's mind who trusts him

  • Saw Ian Anderson last night at the Rialto Theatre, Joliet, IL. He brought down the house and he's 63 years old. Awesome show!!!

  • Thinking, than writing and performing songs in 1970(?) is one thing.

Doing it again in the same quality and spirit after 30 "some what" years is something else... and above that being a musical director on stage, yep Ian is and will be an outstanding musician 4 ever.

Thank God he sent his kids to a music school to learn to play the flute.

All my blessings to you Ian and the rest of the gang.

Not to forget my thanks for your music.

  • Yer voice has gone mate - u should have given more credit to violinist - than FKed me off

  • Incredible Ian. I love you.

  • i bet that girl gives great handjobs :b, bte IAN WILL REMAIN MY MUSIC INSPIRATION

  • Ian's a madman in the best possible way.

  • This comes off of one of the greatest albums of 1971!

  • Thanks for this video. It reminded me some gone years.. However, sound is not as good as I should have expected. Ian forever!!

  • I am a big Tull fan, seen them many a time. Ian Anderson's voice is TOTALLY permanently GONE forever. I still love seeing them, still, but the magic is gone.

  • @bluefin12 from Anthony G de Peabody, MA, me gusto eschuchar "Jethro Tull", mucho. seen them over seven times, after that I stopped counting, been to the 2nd Jethro Tull Convention. I'd like to go again, if somebody has gone can you fill me in on the good parts. Cheerio

  • Love his ass. Orange Blossom Special and a flute. How's that? Love his ass. As a side note, it's a great video. :O)

  • This is certainly not true - is it ????? I heard the band several times live, but this is '&%+* awesome....

  • The 'greatest' piano/guitar' entro's EVER even here!!! True genius and amazingly talented group! I still remember the first time I heard Agualung and well need I say more!

  • Hell yes!!!

  • esta formacion no me gusto

  • Chile rocks with Jethro Tull.... Wow!

  • This video would be better if the girl was naked.

  • Great video! Wish I was there.

  • What happened to Jethro Tull? Way to slow down, Ian.

  • @PatricioTenorio They tour all the time...see their site. I'm seeing Ian Anderson in the Fall too. Still rocking.

  • in all the shufflin madness, thank god there's still Ian !

  • Hey dyl11anus, I can't hear the gaza children because of the rockets they're shooting at Israel. Rock on Ian.

  • das beste ist immer noch locomotive breath, querflöte gibts nur einmal.

  • Bloody hell.... Ian is the master of folk rock and flute playing etc..... But sorry.... it is only the flute that leeps thid song alive....sorry

  • Ian's girl

  • who's playing violin? she's hot and an excellent musician

  • Thank You. Concert in Paks Hungary. Im from Hungary Pécs .

  • @dyl11ans

You seem to be posting on lots of vids whose artists allegedly play Tel Aviv - you do realise that Dylan is Jewish too don't you?

  • @ihatnecksered I'm Jewish tto. What does that have to do with anything.? Bob Dylan refused to play Tel Aviv by the way. This is not about religion, It's about oppression and justice. The occupation is wrong.

  • @dyl11ans it's a fuckin concert video. politics are a persons private beliefs. take it to fox network or some other forum

  • Martin Barre Rules!! Greatest Guritar player of all times....

  • AHOY

    AGE-less is more like it.

Tours are nice and Memmmmmories of past will always (last) untill you cant recall enjoy-ed group since1969, what is the year Steel Eye Span toured with our Merry Lads...

  • Nice camera work, This concert was just about 40 years after their first album.

I've heard some crazy stories about one of their Red rocks Shows back in 68 or something. Something about marijuana being tossed from a helicopter onto the audience, tear gas, running hippies, etc. lol.

  • The greatest song ever! Unbelievably inventive in every facet?

  • Goosebumps

  • at the beginning, is that a masterpiece of classical music composers?

  • @founderjay Nope, it simply is part of the beginning of the soing, he is simply a good songwrites in addition to performing it :)

  • How can anyone not love Jethro Tull?? They're awesome!!!!!!!

  • Monumental. What a song. What a band.

  • Only Ian could pull this off. A virtuoso performance on violin and flute, backed up by a heavy rock guitar sound. Well, fuck me, that's just not normal!!!!!

  • @kevin652010 It should be. Where is our culture?

  • This Band even rocks my young soul. Also the female violinist plays like a dervish.

    I like these guys.

  • I had fogotten how good hes is!!

  • The only problem with singing AND playing the flute is that you can't do both at the same time.

  • Superb, fantastic, can't wait to see them next week

  • stop riding the jock. i love tull all my life first record . first cd auqa.. music is bad ass man that outro fucdge wow.. but im gettin a freddie mercury halford vibe. but hells yeah just as bad ass as all the times ive seen em.. rock on mr tull

    thanks

  • Hammerartig!! Das war noch richtig geile Mucke.

  • amazing musical composition, mates!

  • Awesome...Been a fan for more than 30 years and he still rocks!

  • My favorite Jethro Tull song by far. Besides that ever-present flute, that driving beat always gets to me.....

  • I e3njoyed this beyond my own beleif.

  • Ian non ha più un filo di voce... ahimé...

  • very good!! really amazing! still rockin' after all

  • WOOOHO! I love this!

The violin player is very good too

  • who was that chick on the Fiddle? she looked delicious... ill bone her..err id like to i mean....

  • I feel the same way Rau

  • @Rauhel You would bone a pile of rocks if you thought their might be something in it with a pulse.

BUT would she allow a horn dog like you to even come near her?

I think NOT. That girl is way out of your reach.

You better go back to trolling the taverns around closing time, there your crude attitude might not work against you. Sweet dreams!

  • @northernsun2 Yeah, sorry about buttin'-in, a year after the first shot was fired. It's one of the best replies NEVER to get a response, so I'm joinin' in; just to see a sign of life.

You are absolutely right - she is way out of poor Rauhel's reach . . . and mine too for that matter. She's a fuckin' darlin' and every bloke with half-a-horn, knows it.

Your next line is a ripper too - agreeing wholehearted after having spent the best part of five decades learning. Sweet dreams!

  • sencillamente Ian Anderson es Dios,el es una de mis grandes inspiraciones para aprender flauta traversa...

  • Was that the Coors? LOL

  • Ian still superb! Shivers.......

  • Celts will enjoy Heaven!!! Elder Tom

  • Wow, this performance blew me away!!! Thank you so much for posting this!!

  • props to being old and still rock'n it!

  • Thanks for letting us know who she is. She's brilliant!!! I haven't seen Tull in concert for almost 20 to 25 years. I am dying to see them again.

  • It seems that Martin Barre adds more distortion to guitar as he ages.

  • Very cool

  • I m stay in this concert!!!

    gran concierto!

    maestros!!!

  • gotta love martin barre, still shreddin it up after all these years!

  • Nice Video

You must check out this rare Jethro Tull and Anoushka Shankar concert collabration on my page...its got some previosuly unreleased material which is awesome...more concert dvd footage on request.

  • Crappy version

  • i say it'zza gr8 version

  • oo medio concierto que me perdí!!!

  • Thee almighty Tull if your a fan of howard stern i made a song parody for baba booey you might like

  • Showing J.T. can rock it just as hard as the stones with as many years under their belt. As for Ian's vocal cords, they've been a little ratched since the cancer, so you have to forgive him for diaphragmatic singing as he cant belt anymore.

  • @kierz01 He had cancer?!--WHEN?!!--

  • !,,!_ Jethro tull rocks _!,,!

  • Jetrho Tull la lleva wnn!!

me ubiera gustado ir pa ese concierto
