Anime type games lose all credibility because of the easy combos lends itself well to buttonmashing. Then, when you've buttonmashed your way through, you get alot of special effects for next to no effort. If these types of games had the same combo complexity as STREETFIGHTER or TEKKEN it would outsell any beat'em up thats out there. But instead these games are aimed at the kids that watch the cartoons when the games should have a much broader appeal.

I would choose a button smashing game over something complex like Tekken any day.

This game wasn't meant to be challenging, neither were its predecessors. And a lot of people liked the older games, button smashing and all If they came out with a new a game, with the same title, only to fuck up the controls everyone's become so familiar with, they would have hell to pay.

And...of course they're aimed at the people who watched the anime, that's who it was made for. Don't act so surprised.

I like the games simple BECAUSE everyone can play them. Its more of a challenge when your opponent is just as talented as you are.

I don't deny that you'll find a worth adversary when playing something like Tekken, but they're not nearly as plentiful.

Annnnnd, let's not forget the visuals. I find this game HORR-EN-DOUS-LY attractive. It has something that games like Street Fighter lack -- but that's me.

@PandaLord13 No fighting game is ever ALL buttonmashing to achieve all-the-time victories, but because the combos are alot easier to pull off in these types of games, you'll hit those combos with far more frequency than you would... say, Virtua Fighter. I think these games do a disservice to the fans anyway because they can understand abit more complexity than is allowed. BTW, I do have this game and completed it within 3 days. When you've played VF5, this game is a walk in the park.

But judging the special effects of the latest streetfighter offerings and MvCapcom it does seem to be going anime style.
