Wow, this video touched me in so many ways. I grew up in California, taught there, and had no idea that there were school counselors getting cut from the school system. Also, as a huge supporter of helping students find and win college scholarships, I know first-hand how valuable most high school guidance counselors are to students and parents. I have lived in Michigan for the last 20 years and hope and pray we don't lose any of our counselors. What can I do help spread the word for Calif.?

They're getting rid of some of our counselors in my school. I was really upset when I heard that my counselor might not be there anymore because I had NEVER opened up to anyone like I opened up to him. And all it took was a simple question "Want to talk about it?" no one ever asked me that before. My family and friends don't have a clue about any of my problems. My counselor is the only person who TRULY knows who I am! Counselors are important! We need them!

Most of the kids in this video give redundant explanations. Most of them are suck ups and feel accomplished by taking part in this. The only ones I respect are the suicide guy for example. Most of these kids don't have an understanding about budget problems. It's not a choice. It's a must. Some feel good opinions won't get in the way.

This is an amazing video. All school board members and administrators should watch this before deciding to cut school counselors.
