Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to flash patterns. Each pattern has its pro's and con's. For dual color units, the side by side patterns are more effective rather than having, say a red & blue light head, flashing all together and ending up looking purple. Thank you very much for your comment.
could this be used as a white led driving light as an led take-down

Yes, for RED-BLUE I would have them wig-wag.
Another interesting effect would be wig-wag with overlap!: RED, then BLUE with RED, then BLUE.
Purple is quite unusual and eye-catching.
We saw a purple tail light on a motorcycle.
When we got close, it was a red tail light with nickel-sized blue lens in the middle.
From a distance, that little blue lens made the whole tail light appear purple.
Interesting!
Does anyone make Red & Blue LEDs evenly distributed on the surface?
Thank you.

None that I know of. We do have purple surface mounted lights. They achieve the purple color by using a purple lens over white leds.

Would not RED and BLUE LEDs be easier and brighter than WHITE LEDs with a purple filter?
For funerals?
I'd like lamps where the whole lamp can be different colors.
When I have time, I plan to make a grid of RED and BLUE LEDs.
Current in one direction is all RED.
Opposite direction is all BLUE.

You bring up a good question. I don't know that anyone has considered doing so.

19 patterns and only one that is any good: ALL ON, ALL OFF
Coordinated lights, ALL ON/All OFF, are far better at catching the unexpecting eye than a bunch of random little flickers.
