  • Hey! Man You travel abroad a lot.

That is great and sad in the same time because i think you wish in some moment of your life be with your own family and if you traveled like this It is going to be very dificult to do it.

  • Thanks! The thing is that when you travel and live abroad, you have the opportunity to meet people you would never have met if you hadn't left home in the first place. Some of the best things in life are a surprise that, in my case, I found far away from home. :)

  • hey teacher! ur style is very uneek i like it.great stuff keep it up.

  • hi steve im LIRIM ...

    maybe i can remmember you...

yes i can give you some examples abou my question.

    for e xample:succes-successful,use usefu,beauty-beautiful...

means that to exchange by noun in adjective...

  • Hello Lirim! usually going from nouns to adjectives isn't so bad. What about 'good' ? For example, We did it for his own 'good' ( noun) and He is a ' good' swimmer. Be careful of irregular adjectives, especially in the comparative and superlative i.e. better and best. This counts for bad, worse and worst. Also consdider far, farther/further,farthest/furthest

    I hope this helps!

    Steve

  • hi steve im Lirm I come from KOSOVA .congrulations for your videos.

and im glad to tell you that i can speak english now without any problem.i teach to speak english by you...I have a question for you...can you explain me more information for adjective when we exchange by noun...

    best wishes my best teacher

  • Hello Steve, I'm David, a Brazilian guy from Rio de Janeiro that really appreciates your lessons. I'd like to ask you one thing: if would be possible for you repost the older lessons in high quality; as you told in lesson 15, you invested in a new camera and PC, but even though, I think it would be nice give us the opportunity to watch them in a better way.

    Thanks in Advance o/

  • hi and welcome

  • Hey Eng1425,

There has always been a huge debate about this! Back when I was teaching in the 90s, I worked at British-run schools as well as American. Being a Canadian, I was able to work with both kinds of English. I truly love both ! I think they both have something to offer. In the academic world you obviously need to focus on one of the two. So if you plan to do the TOEFL, you need American English if you want to do the IELTS or Cambridge, you need British English.

  • Thanks for advices

I plan to do the ILETS

    Cheers

  • If you want to be competitive in today's globalised market my friend, I must say that you need both British and American English.

  • You also need to know how to understand other accents in English from other countries as too often my business students tell me they are on the phone with people from China, India, Turkey etc. on a daily basis.

Hope this helps ! Good luck with your studies and thank you for your generous comment !

    Steve

  • Smart teacher + amaze singer + creative writer = Steve Ford

really I like the way how do you teach. I enjoy and learn from your youtube video

I'm studying English in London and my brother going to study English and I recommend for him to go to Canada because the accent of the people in Canada very clear not like here in the UK.

Do you think I'm right or not?

    Thanks

  • tativiana is wrong

    i'm brazilian

    and i know it's ipanema.

  • How about Vicks Vapor Rub ? :)

  • I don't say "Canadà" when I'm speaking (or trying to...) english... :P

  • Ok... Now I'm confuse... o_O?

  • Good question. I will consider using this for a test prep. video considering it is high level. This goes into the finer details of writing and speaking and your last example encourages me to do a video with regard to 'as'.

    bravo! wonderful question!

    Steve

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

  • Hi Steve, I enjoy your lessons very much. They've helped me a lot.

I've had a hard time using the word "as" in a sentence. So I'm wondering if you could give a lesson on how that word is used in phrases/sentences. I know "as" can be used as an adverb, a conjunction, and a preposition, and in phrases like "as is", "as of", "It's not as if...". It's really confusing!! Thank you for your attention and patience.

    Grace

  • It's not "Ipaneema"... It's "Ipanehma"... XD

    But, great lesson, as always.

    Hugs from Brazil, actually Natal-RN,

    Tati
