@1drwall The thing is, the speed the opponent wil fall at is different based on the spacing when the HK ruffian lands. If you hit the HK ruffian with its later frames the opponent will fall slower/later. Now just by doing the combo from 23 the spacing is already good and you should be able to hit it. The EX Criminal upper can be done VERY later, like when you think you are to late you the EX CU will hit.

You hold Light and Heavy or Jab and Fierce punch for a second or two. then you punch with a medium/strong then let go and it should come out as ex. (or hold 1 punch button for a normal knuckle)

I just don't get how if you do them too early it stuffs up and too soon and u miss the combo, I don't know how everyone can be so perfect -.-

@raff2112 Uhm why wouldn't it work?

To do EX zonk you must charge 2 of the punch buttons and release them simultaneously, and to do it in a combo like say s.mp you have to release the 2 buttons you hold for EX Zonk at the same time you release your finger from cr.mp. Hold the lp and hp btw if you want to combo out of s.mp.

As soon as you press the button for the Criminal upper do 2 quarter circle motions the other direction and press a kick button, do this immediately. It has to be done pretty fast, yes, but it shouldn't really give you that much trouble. Anyway complete the super motion in the beginning animation of the Criminal upper.

Anyway you won't ever really use this combo outside of the challenge room.

@DBZfanboy25 i did it on a 360 controller but what i did was learn to link the jaw crusher with the CLP when i had it down smooth then i linked the criminal upper after the CLP so on and so on till the dead end irony then fust adden the jumping HK in the begining. hope it helps

@bignmusic1 I got the 24th trial some time ago, if you have the fadc ultra down this is a very very doable challenge. I also was annoyed that i kept missing the c.lp, it hittin too late., can't give much advice on that except to just keep the combo going even if it is blocked, build muscle memory and when you happen to hit it you get the full combo.

One thing though, the c.lp has to be done quite fast after the fadc, so immediately press down after the dash.

I love the frustration. You really learn alot in trying to study why you can't do a move. You learn about character's frames, combos, what links and cancles, and when you pull it off you get a raging hardon. I love it when people say the "took a few tries" though. You know it was more like 1000.

@slipjim you just have to keep trying coz i started playing cody today and i thought of a combo i could do ^i didn't know it was in the trials...but anyway .ruffian kick FADC into ultra 1. it took some time to perfect it. actualy there are lots of mixups you can do when you FADC after ruffian kick

e.g I made one up...it goes....Ruffian kick ,FADC ,EX ruffian kick, into ultra 2 (if your quick enough.) ot an alternate you can do a EX criminal uppercut instead of ultra 2. i use a controller to.

@Frostbite12211983 It's just his timing for combo links is different, well his frame links are all well spaced so for example on #24 you have to wait a bit for cr. l to cr. m to connect and then you speed up the criminal upper to ex cancel followed by another slight pause for the cr. l and then you speed up the rest for the FADC to ultra... hard to explain but if you just try over and over you eventually get the timing down :)

Cody kept doin Bad Stone when I needed Ruffian Kick, LOL!!

I got Makoto Trial 24, El Fuerte Trial 23 &24, Abel Trial 24 left!!! I'm using a PS3 Pad too so don't believe you have to use an Arcade Stick.

@DRAGON1NINJA I'm stuck on Chun Li's 21st trial. The sequence is Jump H. Kick, Crouch M. Kick, L. Hyakuretsukyaku, Crouch M. Kick, Senretsukyaku. For some reason, the Spinning Bird Kick comes out instead of the Senretsukyaku, and I know I'm putting in the correct command. Most of the time, when I finally get it out, Dan starts blocking. That's what really gets on my nerves with the trials. He blocks so damn much.

For those who think using a standard controller is a handicap, just know that getting a stick is just as much of a handicap for the first 2 weeks you start using them...it's not an instant solution. Once you get used to it though, it's worth it.

I would argue that you can , ALMOST do anything on a controller.. but I could already tell it was going to be much more effecient. so, Yes and no. it takes a bit of getting used too. but its easier than it might seem.
