@SmaMan I haven't played this game in years, so I may be wrong on this, but it's not about memorization. The path is randomized every time you play, so don't expect consistent results. Monsters seem fairly predictable, though.
Best tip I can think of, though... Shoot the tubes, Dogmeat! Spam that shooter!
@Stryder467 Now that I've played it more, yeah, it looks like it's randomized. I'm getting better, (my callsign is RatBreath now!) But I found the spamming the shooter can run you out of energy... which causes you to explode for some reason.
@SmaMan Keep practicing! The game only takes 40 minutes of your time to beat, but a lot of skill.
When you keep shooting like that, you need to keep an eye on the gauge beneath your current callsign. That's your H2 level, and if it gets too high, the hydrogen explodes and you die. To avoid this, you need to tell Catfish to detonate the H2 before it gets too high.
I don't remember how this is done, though. You may want to check a FAQ.
@Stryder467 Also, if you mean the energy level, that is not affected by how much you shoot, I don't think. But the energy you start with is not enough to get you through the game. You need to hit those recharge places that Ghost notifies you of.

And according to the instructions, you have to hit C or something... I haven't gotten that far yet. I lost when I didn't fire the new guns that Ghost installed in that one cut scene. :P

Then the Sega CD flopped, Nintendo pulled the plug, Sony decided to make it into their own system, Nintendo sued, lost, and the Playstation 1 was born.
I seriously just watched a 6 minuets of a guy shooting ratagator's and bats, just too see a fat man stuff his face with pizza, part 2 better be worth it!
It's no wonder the Sega CD sunk. It was a great peripheral that pushed the limits of 16-bit tech, but Sega foolishly put all their eggs in the FMV basket with that moron Tom Zito, instead of putting out more awesome CD games like Dark Wizard, Final Fight CD, and Snatcher. How anyone could sit through this game for more than 20 seconds is inconceivable. Think I tossed mine in the trash after about 10 seconds way back when.
might be one of the worst games ever made when compared to how much effort and budget must have gone into it.
I think I lasted about 10 seconds and had no idea why it kept insta killing me while my ship ran into a wall despite hitting the direction arrows at the top. So stupid.

might be one of the worst games ever made when compared to how much effort and budget must have gone into it.
I think I lasted about 10 seconds and had no idea why it kept insta killing me while my ship ran into a wall despite hitting the direction arrows at the top. So stupid.

I think you had to hold down the "B" button while pushing the direction button to actually set a course.
