I have been having issues with the pickups, (mostly when the u bass is going through an amp/or DI i can;t get any signal from the G string!!) have any suggestions?I would greatly appreciate it, thanks Adam!!!

@nakedandfam0us Yes, a lot of fretless guitar-type instruments have those. They're just inlays, not frets.
