@HHH396 Ha, not training overly hard. In good shape though. Fell on ice at work and tore my labrum. Right shoulder is wrecked. Cannot comfortably press 10 pounds over my head and it has been like this for 4 weeks so far. I will just do pussy circuits and cardio for the time being. Hope all is well with you.
@jlinteris Oh shit man sorry to hear that.I hope u get better bro! I've had rotator cuff issues all year long.Haven't really been able to get near my best stuff on bench. My right shoulder has been messed up for about the last month and not getting better....so i figured this was a good time to start trying out some deadlifts. It's been going well on deadlifts though.I've only been training them a month. Before that I had touched a heavy deadlift.Well anyway Get better bro!
Do you use chalk ? If not, Then Probably could add an easy 50-60 lbs chalked up. Also,if you allready have a power rack i'd strongly recommend rack holds. They enable to get past sticking points with grip. Thing is,with someone like myself, the sticking point on full rom deads was always lower back. I used to do 600+ on rack holds but my dead max at that time was 455 because of my vulnerable lower back.
@bobbyd7085 Yeah I used chalk.Grip is not a problem for me.I have had lots of lower back slipped discs over the years so I have to be careful of my back.
YEAHHHH Mark! I think you had 510-515 in you bro! that wasnt even that hard! I mean it was hard, but not max effort for sure! i say take a lil break, go light next week, then come back with 510+ bro, you looked golden! I cant wait to see how much you sumo pull after a few months of squatting, im sure close to 550! Damn Mark, all i can say is good job brotha, there wasnt a doubt in my mind that you would get 500, after how easy 480 was dude!
@BIGDADDYJOHNSON27 Thanks Lee! The sumo uses more leg and hip strength and less back.I like because I have strong hips and legs, and I have a weaker lower back.So it's good for me.
Awesome Mark. I noticed when you pull, you tend to lock the knees a bit early, forcing the load on your back. I bet you could knock out 515-525 if you keep that bend in the knee until you attempt the lockout. Like always, good work.
@kickenwing30 Thanks bro! Yeah I'm still working the kinks out.I pretty much just started deadlifting with max weights for only about 4 weeks.Good point though I will have to keep the pressure off my back as that is my weak area.
Yeah!!! 5+ plates I knew you could do it! So now your in the 5 plate club for squats and deads and 4 plates for bench, you still look good for more man!
That was great Mark! And you still did it with the "grip and rip" style. Looks like it hasn't failed you yet! I think I'm going to give that style a try after watching how well it's worked for you!
@powerful1677 Thanks my friend! Yeah from this point I need to slow down and start repping weight. And actually start squatting again, which I haven't been doing lol
@IncredibleHulkRobert Thanks my friend! This was a very happy moment. With all the back problems I've had over the years I never thought this would happen!
