My suggestion for a better video is to stop relying on the filters to add variety to the video, instead change the amount of time each picture is displayed.
You have the default 5 seconds for each picture. You don't have to time every picture to a specific part in the music, but some timing in the video adds great variety.
For example you could switch back and forth between two pictures timed with a specific beat in the movie. Just make a video :D
