  • that guy blows sax

  • @Dylans503

Too bad Tom didn't bring his harmonica for this performance. Then this would've sounded better.

  • Is this video from the old "In Concert" TV Show???...Original Doobie fan, Bought the Vinly Lps in the order that they came out......Great band in the studio and in concert...Check out Crossroads concert on CMT...Wonderful .,,,the boys left look good.....

  • Marc Russo is a great sax player. Just love this terrific group. Glad I have their DVD at Wolftrap.

  • WOW. sax solo... WOW

  • Wow spelled backwards means the samething, this is great music and the dynamic of the doobies is unriveled.

  • I HATE TO SAY IT BUT THE DUDE ON THE SAX REALLY - REALLY BLOWS.

  • this is one of rock and rolls greatest bands with so many songs.when you hear them playing you know it's the doobies

  • Check out Fusion Beat's cover!!!

  • Listening to this after tooling around with mom this morning...the "slow train" rockin' out to "Long Train"...!!

  • ahhh sweet memories. My first concert was the DB . We got high on music....and a few other things.

  • too good!!

  • Always great performers..

  • Horns intro is TOP's Soul vaccination.

  • Two of the BEST groups of all time..... Doobie Brothers, with the Tower of Power Horns..... does it get any better???? NO!!!!

  • @MarvRob777 Those aren't "technically" the Tower of power horns, even though two of them were with Tower...

  • what an exciting song!

    keep on pushing mama!

I'll always be there for long long long

  • too bbloody awesme completely emphaticaly the band ! thats all!!!

  • @myself, same thing they do at the beginning

  • 3:56 - 4:13 sounds just like Tower Of Power's songs Soul Vaccination

  • now thats a team effort

  • #14 is the last song of the regular set!

  • I was so blessed in the early mid-70s with two uncles and older brothers that turned me onto the Doobies, Fleetwood Mac, Kansas, etc. 45 now and still rockin' my much fatter ass off!

  • Who was the back up band on this?....The horns & drums/conga's....awesome....what a legendary Bay Area Band....saw them play at Winterland, Day on the Green at the Stick...and at other small local venus...late 60's & 70's........

  • Yeeeeooow!!!!! Rock 'n Roll for Real!!! I might be old too----but I ain't Dead YET!!

  • Great memories!!!!!Sure beats the garbage out there now!!!

  • Love this song! while released in 1973, this video is obviously from the late 90's and this version is really commercialized. Still like this version, just not as much.

  • I was listening to this on a cd I downloaded from dobie brother greatest hits. like you said man I am getting old in 7 months I turn 58 where has the time gone.

  • Gotta love Marc Russo's alto solo starting at 1:29, and the interpolation of "Soul Vaccination" is indeed clever.

  • Sax solo !!!!

  • Skylark is just out of control up there!! lol He's feeling that shit...

  • Saw the Doobies in Missoula Montana in 1974 ! What a party !

  • 0:08 to 0:18 is soul vaccination by tower of power

  • A 1 minute 29 le Saxophoniste s"éclate comme un dingue et je Kiff... Quel est son nom...??? Please

  • who mentioned Eminem ?

If you are Black and you like the doobies then you can be a Honorary White man

  • the sax solo nuked me so hard

  • This is what it was about.... before the blacks started all their "Kill cops and rape women raps "

white music is going to take you to heaven. Black music takes you to hell

  • @karmachasescathy Way to stereotype black people, for one. Two, I'm black and I love this kind of music.

Also, Eminem is white. Your argument is now invalid.

  • EPIC SAX IS EPIC

  • most people would say that the beatles had the two best singers with lennon and mccartney, and that's fine, but the doobies had tom johnston and mike mcdonald and i'll put them up against anyone. also, the bass is killer in this.

  • Such a great song, from a time when music wasn't empty, vapid, whiny and self-absorbed.

  • Thank God for marijuana

  • Two great vocalists in one rock band. One of the many great bands of the 70s/80s..

  • Great Song, Great Band, long live Real music! Did somebody say Fruity Loops & Autotune? are instrumental in creating music? Please Punch em in the Face REAL HARD!!

  • @NatButtaBrotha yeah thats why ppl who make electronic music are called producers, not musicians...there is a lot of cool stool coming out of that genre though depending on what you're into.

  • awesome band live and horn player was on fire. @ cmac ny.

  • im 16 and even i enjoy this music! :) good stuff, i play some of it with a band im in!

  • damn...why not blow me away next time..??? Whew..you guys are "out of this world" fantastic!!!

  • BBBBBBBRUTAL, YEAHHH

  • One of the sweetest, best stories in rock is the rest, recovery and rehabilitation of Tom Johnson. His re-emergence with the Doobs is, and has been, reason to be thankful and just enjoy his immense talent. Thank God Tom is his incredible "old" young self!

  • @mikeaustin1

who is tom in the band? what instrument does he play?

  • The lead singer, black T-shirt (in video), playing rhythm guitar (as he did in their early days).

  • class!!!!!

  • Mark Russo, from my hometown of Walnut Creek, CA, is one of baddest-ass sax players on the planet. He absolutely shreds it on his alto sax solo. Nice horn section too -- you just gotta love those Tower of Power horn lines!

  • YEAH!!!!! "The Tower of Power" horns. Man those where the days huh?

  • @Saxkat Mark Russo kills on this song. Just saw him play earlier this week at the Doobie Brothers/Chicago concert. Amazing.

  • Great performance!

  • Excellent music!!!

  • groupe géant avec 1 titre tout aussi géant, merci beaucoup Paul...kiss

  • is that michael moore on trombone? lol

  • Is it just me or was that the sickest sax solo in the history of sax solos at around 1:30?

  • yes finally a version of this song that booms out love it . . .

  • REAL MUSIC...

  • @Geezemarie Agreed

  • the Doobies have been bad dudes for a long time

and they are still doing it!!!!

  • An all time classic! A fantastic song from the Seventies! I want to dance all night long, when I hear The Doobie Brothers.

  • Great music from a great time!!!

    I'm getting old :(

  • This music is timeless!!!!

  • Haha is that soul vaccination??
