  • This man knew what he was talking about!

  • Love Rich

  • haha! Dontcha just love him. I mean, I look at it this way. Rich Mullins was a very special GIFT that the Father God gave to each and every one of us, the believers; the church! Rich Mullins....surely was such a blessing to SO many of us. My mom bawled her eyes out for almost 2 months after he passed. I grew up listening to him, so these blessings were passed to me and now Im 32 and sharing with my four children! OUR GOD IS SOOO, SO very GOOD to us!

  • The entire song about the Screen Door is here on YouTube.

  • I saw him twice in concert too.. I even babysat/dog sat Rich's dog and had a meal with him before the concert.

  • YES! Screen Door! I love the cup game!

  • Good job Rich and band mates its a great way to start a Saturday !! Praise God !

  • Does anyone still have the rest of "Screen Door on a Submarine"???? The entire song was here, but now it's gone, and I miss it!!!

  • Okay, first I'm really enjoying it. Second... WHERE IS PART #9???!!!!!!! It goes from 8 to 10 and 9 is missing. What happened?

  • One of my favorite Rich Mullins songs is "While The Nations Rage"!! I love all the different insturments they use!

  • He would have said no. He dedicated his life to celibacy. He gave all he had to the poor except what he needed to survive. Which by the look of him here is a shirt and pants but no shoes. He was no more interested in marriage then Jesus was.

  • I agree. Let's imitate his imitation of Jesus.

  • you don't KNOW he would have said NO. Only God KNOWS. Who knows jmtooe64 might have ripped his celibate heart out of chest of the man with her eyes. I miss Rich Mullins.

  • Is that what we wanna do to a celibate man's heart? Indeed, the contemporary church is cruel to those who vow to remain single.

  • No we don't REALLY want to rip his heart out, but let's not get too serious, I was simply saying how attractive he was. I am a devout catholic Christian and as such I have total respect for celibacy: Some of my favorite priests are celibate!! OK that's a joke guys. ALL of them are, as are many of my friends, male and female, both lay people and those in religious orders. St. Paul commends both celibacy and marriage for different reasons and we need to respect each person's God-directed choice.

  • hey I know that! I just wanted to make a point of how brutal love can feel. I am celibate and single at 42 years old, not Catholic, just a Protestant heretic. My point was of God's mysterious ways. He was a very attractive, wonderful man who still makes me cry whenever I hear him sing.

  • not sure what you mean hear as Rich never took a vow to be single. He was single yes though. My point is you just don't know what he would have done....neither do I! God is mysterious and deep and He seems keen on surprises.

  • I totally agree SpaceMe100! I was responding to AsTheDeer because I felt things were getting a little heavy when no-one is seriously suggesting a sabotage of someone's celibacy! I DO agree though that whilst a (lay-) person can feel led to be celibate there may come a time when they feel led to be open to marriage - for a good and holy reason, including falling in love. BTW - I was protestant until I was 40: I became catholic only 5 yrs ago, a wonderful thing for me.

  • There's no way to "get too serious". Our words display our hearts. Did he make a vow? Look at Part 4 of the Homeless Man video by marcosagostos, go to 01:56. Besides, if you're single at 42 and a devout Christian, it's obviously because you've made a vow. It isn't that hard to find a spouse - she just needs to be in the Lord. Last thing: I'm really scared for you - you find Rich attractive. Make sure you don't covet. God knows who and what you fantasize about.

  • @AsTheDeer I agree with Rich on this one, It's better to be single. You don't need to take a vow, just a decision. I've was married 2 times and not equal, so it's better to be single.

  • I'd say his reputation is evidence to the contrary. I believe he believed in a higher calling. He tells us in this concert that he struggled with the flesh but I personally do not believe he would give up a vow he so dearly believed in.

  • Wish I'd known about him before he died. Not only would I have gone to his concerts, I would have proposed!! :o)

  • look @ my reply to gullygus15 ;)

  • Wow thanks!! I like your sense of providence: Indeed, it would have been in God's hands!! I like to serve too but maybe we would have done it even better together, ha! Anyway, I hope to be eternal lifelong friends with him in heaven!

  • His music is so anointed! I love it! Thanks for sharing! : )

  • I love Rich Mullins. Rich Mullins Rich Mullins Rich Mullins! He rocks. I didn't discover Rich Mullins until 2001. And then I was like all into his tunes and then I discovered that he was already gone. I greived. I greived.

  • I was blessed to meet Rich Mullins (and hand him his guitar on stage!)when he opened for Margaret Becker in Houston in 1995-1996. (Her Soul Album Debut).

I miss him so much. He was heartbreakingly real. No artifice, no pride (that I saw), completely raw and honest. He loved God so much, so completely. I'm blessed by his walk and his talk. Thanks Rich! I miss you very much!

  • Yeah,wheres part nine????

  • "If I Stand" is one of his best songs.

I saw Rich Mullins twice in concert. The first time he wore shoes and the 2nd time he didn't.

What a humble man who really tried to follow Jesus as best as he could.

  • Rich wore shoes at a concert?! That must have been a rare day indeed!

  • the ending of "if i stand" is so sad to just look and listen to rich and the words he is singing

  • Thank you Rich for all your wonderful and blessed music!

    love ya!:-)

  • A WONDERFUL VIDEO! THANK YOU!

    LOVE YA!

  • I wish I could have met Rich. He is such an inspiration. I know the last thing he would want to be was idolized, but he's such a perfect example of Christianity.

  • Is part 9 of this concert missing?

  • Okay, there's no question about it. The cups sequence was ingenious. At his best, Rich Mullins could do with a cheap guitar and some cups what Michael W. Smith needed a full orchestra and chorus to do. Rock on in the next life, Rich!

  • Couldn't agree more. Rich Mullins left a good example to follow.

    Peace,

    Jonathan

  • Come on chocolate, this ain't a competition. They are/were both playing to the same Master. Both are great writers.

  • You know, I have thought for many years that RIch was ill for quite a while before his accident, and watching these last tapes and your statements confirms that. I think GOd took him home before he had to suffer a lot.

Rich always wanted to go home, just like in this song, if I can't let me fall on the grace that first brought me to you, and if I weep let it be as a man for his home. Rich longed for home always.

  • What Comments, I'm interested?

He did seem tired, more than usual,

he was also fading toward the end of the concert.

    What a Blessing he was...

  • I can't believe it's been 10 years. I miss his honesty,I miss his songs.

  • "Though we're strangers, still I love you"

    Doug

  • Was there no part 9?

  • I was blessed to see Rich twice the first one was when Beaker was with him and then again with this group of guys. I keep thinking that they called themselves Sunday Afternoon Drive. Anyway two of the most inspiring concerts I've been to.

And if I stand let me stand on the promise that you will pull me thru and if can't let me fall on the grace that first brought me to you.

  • Thank you for an awesome video. In Christ I stand...God Bless...

  • A great video!Thanks a lot!
