i feel like after learning alot of rusty cooley licks, this wuldnt be tht hard -- dnt get me wrong, jeff's a god&one of the reasons i boughta 7 string!
@blahkaw98 You can play without knowing the blues or understanding it, just your music will really lack emotion, melody, and anything that makes it unique.
I do realize that blues is an underlying essential layer of rock and metal, but one can still play those genres without knowing what aspects were pioneered, influenced by or simply exist because of blues. I think every guitarist should dive into blues even if just to experiment, as it'll really shape their style into something unique
I was at this shoot and Jeff is one cool dude,he kept me laughing saying he couldn't teach but man once he got into the groove he rocked,Awesome down to earth bunch of guy I'm glad to live close enough to RH to be able to go and meet these guys
Hell yeah, pentatonics :) I can't remember any solo Jeff has done on any Nevermore record with a repeating bluesy lick a la Kirk Hammet. Still he does it much better then Kirk. Jeff ftw!
God damn. Jeff has really solidified himself as a guitarist. The jump from Dead Heart to Enemies was astounding. I can't even fathom TGE to "The Obsidian Conspiracy". I can't believe I have to wait 6 months.
COME TO VANCOUVER PLEEEEEEAAASEEEEE. I can guarantee 2 dedicated fans front row.
It is not out yet we just shot it over the last two days. It will be out by october. 2 DVD set, loads of content and more. Also I see you are from Greece, we have Gus G. coming in November.
ugh, i wish i sounded like that when i just screwed around lol. Loomis rules !

What really happened is Loomis told him to write something so he'd shut up so Loomis could play. lol.

I think all guitarists have to know blues to some extent, lol. It's the foundation of so many different styles of rock.
