Although I am not part of the engineering and designing team who were involved in the production of the Ford Fusion Hybrid, I recommend this vehicle to those who are in the Market for a good Hybrid Drive System. The quality of the drive train of the Hybrid Fusion is among the best. It is a competitor to the likes of the Toyota Prius.
If the Prius and Insight looked better I would consider buying one but they are horrid. Remind me of the escape pods from Star Trek. Ford Fusion Hybrid FTW!!!
I agree w/you there...if interested in a Hybrid but 'looks' are more important than most MPGs/cabin space/price, then go w/the Fusion. It really is a nice-looking sedan, the styling is very attractive. And is the Hybrid fusion also AWD? If so, that is really a plus too. As much as I like the Prius, I have some dislikes...not being able to turn off stability/traction control systems & lack of seat adjustments. You'd think w/all that tech, they'd at least have a lumbar lever. Maybe 2010 improved?
One example is if you google: "Top Ten All-American Imports". Click thru those cars...very interesting, especially on the Escape Hybrid and the Fusion. Thanks to our past governments, in many cases, buying "American" isn't helping the American worker/economy as much as buying a foreign brand. Sad, but true...how times change, huh.
Why is the same retard (CommandShiftZ)talking over and over again arguing with himself about how the prius is so great? How about you STFU! and let people get what they are going to get. This is like propaganda at its best. If you like rice cars, get a prius. If you like american cars, get the fusion.I personally am getting the fusion. Its made locally and the money stays local, especially if you are from the upper mid west. As far as price, Im getting one loaded for $28,000! enjoy your base model!
Very classy, just trying to inform people of the BS advertising. But you are the one sounding ingnorant...today, most 'rice burner' manufacturers have plants in the USA and are employing many americans. Infact, many of the BIG 3 USA cars are actually manufactured in Canada or mexico and labled as demestic. While a Honda plant in Ohio has to label their cars imports...thanks AALA. Technically, a Camery is more American than now than a Stang. look it up if you don't believe me.
thats bullshit...first of all ..yota is jap...even if they glue some of them together here using american workers ..its still a jap car...and the profit of that jap car goes home to japan...ford can have a plant in japan...but when that car is sold..the profit comes home here
ford world headquater's.[ 1 AMERICAN RD DEARBORN MI..48126-2798]....
TOYOTA....[DOWN TOWN JAPAN]...C/O MR.suckymoto..i am sure he likes all the american dollars we send him
Good point, true about the profit...but what I'm talking about, and what is more important to us and our economy, is the American worker. Most American car parts and their assembly are employing more Canadian's and Mexican's these days than Americans. Meanwhile, Honda, Toyota, Kia and more actually have plants in America and the majority of parts/assembly are being done by Americans...which is completely messed up and I don't think it's right. It's just they way it is right now.
but for ford!!..they have for years had that plant in cananda long before this trouble we are having here ...and they probably put that other plant in mexico for cheaper labor just to try to stay competitive and sty alive today ..i dont like it, but i'm sure they had to do something to stay afloat ..i wood bet if things got alot better they wood re-open the closed plants here , but still.japs profit goes to japan and not here and thats not good
Hey, nice discussing this w/you. But I don't think 'profits' from a USA based Co. help the American worker or economy directly...mostly their greedy CEO's and company operations. But if a Jap Co. is helping laid off Americans make their house payments again, while USA auto makers are mostly employing Mexicans & Canadians, isn't that Jap Co. helping our economy MORE by employing actual Americans? It's wrong, but is why I keep posting, so people don't buy USAcars thinking that totally benefits USA
yep..you got me there with there greed. but i think times are changing..i think they seen they fuked up .and are cleaning up there act..one big thing i really hate about jap car makers is...like i said before..were was there support for this wounderfull country of our's when 9/11 happened?..and in 2001 yota made there biggest profet ever..along with honda.they simply turned there backs on us ..but the big 3 gave and gave ...and not all imports are made here
I own a prius and can say no matter what you drive you can get better fuel economy if you follow some basic rules regarding psychics. When driving just use the smith system which entails looking ahead and far behind to insure you are not accelerating to stale lights try to maintain a consistent speed choose routes where you can avoid tailgaters. In any car you can't get good mileage if you are concerned about how fast you can go 0- 60 unless it is an all electric car.
I agree, but no one really cares...or knows how good they are doing in a traditional vehicle. In a Prius, when ur coasting, the motor ain't running...which means 100mpg! So it becomes a 'no brainer', almost automatic, to implement the smith system...and the monitoring systems show you exactly how you benefit. People complain about Prius drivers...but if everyone could see what we see, they'd drive the same if mpg was their main concern. 4 me, getting the best mpg is like a video game in my Prius
ford great job on the fusion. when i buy my first car its gonna be a ford. its gonna be a couple years from now because im in college but i cant wait to get out and buy one!! love ya ford kick some a** out there!!!
This car is bigger, like a camry size. There is no way the Prius is a that big I looked at that car to buy and see them all the time in the city. Great car, but let's have a round of applause for Ford people! Way to go guys!
Hello, ever been inside a Prius? Next time you see one, look again...it's ALL CABIN space. They are deceptively roomy inside...even more so than the Camery. I'm 6" tall and even w/the front seat all the way back, I have an amazing amount of space between my knees and the front seat when sitting in the back. A Friend of mine even said it had more rear seat space than his Lincoln Continental!
Also had to say people don't buy a hybrid for peformance...but, I read the fusion's 0-60 time is 8.7 seconds and people should know the 2010 Prius's is 9.8. Is 1.1 seconds faster worth getting an average of 11.5 mpg less every tank over the course of ownership? And if you are always driving your fusion like a mustang, your mpg average will be a lot less...kind of defeats the purpose, in my opinion. Just do ur homework and math. The Prius is the best mid-sized bang-for-your-buck, hands down.
I'm happy to see Ford get on board for the U.S. but not by LIES...the Prius is classified as a "MID-SIZED" sedan. The 2010 model has a combined average of 50mpg where as the fusion's is 38.5. The Prius is also roomier inside than your traditional sedan design which the fusion still uses. Yes, I'm a Prius owner & got my `08 for $25,325 with touch-entry (no keypad), xenons, navigation, voice controls, back up camera and more...the Fusion 'starts' at $27,270. Why pay more for less car/options/mpg?
If only Ford was smart enough to get this on the market for 2007 then they could've saved themselves a tonne of trouble. It actually looks like a solid car, and not the swill that they've been putting out as mid-sized sedans for the last fifteen years. But damn, this might be too late and that would be a shame.
I couldnt agree more. They would have saved their ass. I have an 07 Fusion and really like the car. So far, no shit with it. Hopefully this new model will be something nice to drive as well.

Big deal!!! For 30 grand?!? I can by a much less expensive car & the savings will more than pay for the difference in fuel mileage! Regular gas engines (non-electric) in this sized car ought to be getting over 60mpg by now! I've got an 8 year old car that gets only 43 hwy & paid much less than 5 grand, with the $25,000 difference I can buy a little bit of gas.
thats messed up with the weight, look at the old school mustangs when they first came out they weigh 2600 lbs all steel frame and cast iron engine, my taurus weighs like 3500 lbs and its plastic and aluminum, somethings not right lol
oooooo ur in trouble now tht u read this keep reading and something good will happen to u and if u don't the dark world will do very bad things to u A boy named Thomas was walking then he heard a noise in the woods He thought it was just a rabbit so he kept on walking then he saw a flash then died Now that u read this repost this on 10 different Youtube videos in less than 24 hours or you will see a bloody dirty face in the window and he will kill you with a knife HURRY u dont have much time

Just tell greedy american CEOs to out sourcing manufacturing plants outside of the US so americans can get jobs.
