I have a Super Bass Station, Deep Bass Nine, and an MC-202. The DB9 is really not for me, but I have a love hate thing with the Bass Station. It's not warm and fat like old school VCOs, but I keep finding good uses for its particular character.
I'm thinking of getting one of the SE monos, and the Neptune 2. I quite like some of the Moogy sounds from the SE gear, and the Neptune really has its own thing going on.
My mate has a DB9. I thought it was kind of like a poor man's TB-303. Similar set-up but without the sequencer. Doesn't sound as good as a TB-303 either although clearly it was attempting to emulate it.
Sorry, I should have made that clearer: SE stands for Studio Electronics. They do a couple of model lines in mono synths, the ATC-1 and the SE-1. They do a few different filter types for these. They have special editions too. They cover a range similar to the vintage Moogs, though go beyond that as well.
You're right, the DB-9 was originally intended as a 303 clone. No one ever liked it as a 303 clone, though, most owners have preferred it as a general bass machine. It's not really me though.
I got mine direct from Spectral Audio. They were very god to deal with. Shipped via UPS to the UK. You could probably do the same & get it shipped to the States.

Hi, thanks. Really enjoying the Neptune demos.
It's on my wanted list, but I probably have to sell some other mono bass machines first.
Cheers

Cool. I'm getting one of these as soon as the US distributor starts replying to emails. I have the same mixer as you, too.
